Ellengowan Retreat - Dundee Downs NT. Our newly established bush campground is only 90 minutes from Darwin and 5 minutes from the 6 Pack Creek boat ramp which makes it an ideal campground for locals, travelers, fishers and nature enthusiasts who want a quiet, affordable place to escape the crowds. Away from the bright lights it is a perfect place to observe the night sky. Well- mannered pets that are subject to approval are welcome The top section of our 30 acre property is securely fenced. Our community fire pit, with a ready supply of firewood, is ideal for cooking over an open fire, socializing or enjoying a quiet evening under the stars. Cool off in our in-ground spa which is fully fenced in a tropical setting. We have 3 powered sites so there is no overcrowding. Plenty of spaces too, for off-grid campers. Our sites are undesignated so you can choose your own. The modern amenities block has flushing toilets and solar powered hot water showers. The semi-open camp kitchen, complete with fridge, gas BBQ, and a comfortable serving and dining area is available for dining and meal preparation. The water for the Camp Kitchen and Amenities Block is supplied from good quality bore water which is pumped up to a large tank. Water from the other taps around the grounds, as well as the Boat Wash, is only available when the bore is turned on. Please don’t hesitate to ask to use the boat wash area for cleaning fish or washing your boat. The "Top Camp" walking trail is a 770m loop walk through the top section of the property where you can observe the unique Territory savannah bushland and spot seasonal birdlife bushland. Nearby attractions include: Sand Palms Roadhouse for good pub meals; Dundee Social & Recreational Club for various activities, meals and the dry season Sunday markets. Dundee Beach for spectacular sunsets, fishing charters and local weekend markets; Dundee Beach Tavern has a great vibe and good meals. We look forward to your stay with us.

Grevillea Campground Off-Grid has 5 sites around the main hub of the campground facilities. It is suitable for the off-grid and fully contained traveler. In this area you can choose your own bush campsite. Generator free and unpowered, it is perfect for those wanting a quiet and affordable escape. Guests have full access to all the campground amenities. There are no hookups at this site, but guests can access potable water at the taps at the toilet block or camp kitchen. The community fire pit is the only campfire allowed at the campground because of fire permit restrictions during the Dry Season.

#1 Kookaburra - Powered A large grassed area suitable for RV's, caravans, camping trailers or tents. An easy drive in or reverse park into the site gives ample room to enjoy your own private area, close to the communal kitchen, spa and toilet block. Shaded from the afternoon sun, Kookaburra is one of the campgrounds favourite locations for holidaymakers and travellers alike. Kookaburras have been spotted raising their young in a hollow tree close by. ,

No 2: Black Cockatoo Campsite

#2 Black Cockatoo This powered site is close to the toilet and shower block and has a water hookup available from the water tank via pressure pump. Black Cockatoo is spacious and ideal for RV's, camping trailers, tents or caravans. Either drive in or reverse into the site. We are still establishing our grass areas for this site.

Sand Palm Campsite

This off grid campsite is ideal for the traveler who needs a place to camp just for the night before resuming adventures. Level gravel site with some shade from the native trees either side of the site.. The Amenities Block and Camp Kitchen are just a short walk away. It is an ideal site to pitch a tent or roll out the swag or set up your camping vehicle.

1 - Kookaburra Campsite
We had a lovely stay at Robyn’s at the Ellengowan Retreat. Robyn was available an ensured you had everything you needed. Away from the busyness of Dundee Beach, yet close enough to travel in. Nice shaded camp ground. The amenities were well thought out (clean bathrooms, hot water and great water pressure), a camp kitchen (which was well stocked - pots/pans/bbq/fridge/kettle/tea/coffee/milk), not something you would generally expect so a nice surprise. A small spa, which was ideal for a refreshing afternoon dip. More importantly, no road noise, no suburban lights affecting the night sky and waking up to the calls of the kookaburras. A real oasis.

Absolutely loved our stay at Robyn’s property. It was incredibly peaceful with the camp sites being a nice distance a part. All the ammenities were very clean and so thoughtfully considered. Will definitely like to return! Thanks Robyn 😊

Robyn and the team do a wonderful job of keeping the place clean and tidy. The spaces are situated well to have your own space with plenty of wildlife around. The amenities are simple yet very lovely. Its a fantastic place to run away and just be with nature.

Was welcomed beautifully by Robyn who had already gotten the fire prepared for us, absolute amazing area, brand new bathrooms/kitchen area which was well cleaned and maintained and the grass area for camping was flat and green. She offered us water to clean the boat and prepared some cut up fruit for us. Perfect location as the boat ramp is nearby. It’s a fantastic base camp if you want to wind down for a few days, pool was accessible and well cleaned. We’d happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling through! Every night Robyn would light the fire and the mosquito coils for us, very lovely host.
