An absolutely beautiful spot close to everything you might need in Darwin. Amenities were spotless and some of the best we’ve encountered on our lap! Great story from Pete on the history of their property and the gardens he’s been planting. Highly recommend.

2 nights at Samson Creek secluded bush camping

We had a fantastic time at this Hip Camp with another family. The site offered plenty of room for the kids to explore on their bikes, and the raised campfire with a cooking plate was a real convenience. The rustic wooden bench nearby became our favourite spot for evening drinks. Aisla and John were incredibly welcoming, eager to share insights about their property. The amenities were top-notch, with hot showers available day and night. Plus, the handy map provided at the gate made exploring the property a breeze. Located conveniently near Litchfield National Park and Dundee Beach, we even managed a refreshing swim at Berry Springs. Highly recommended for families looking to unwind and connect with nature!

2 nights at The Urban Retreat

Pete is a very welcoming host and took time to show us around the property, giving us a tour of the fantastic work he has done to bring back native flora and fauna. We had a huge area to camp in at the Cocky Apple site, and we enjoyed nighttime walks around the site to search for wildlife, we saw an abundance of wildlife here. The facilities were very clean and included a washing machine. The whole site is gated which is always a bonus! We would 100% stay here again, we can see why this site is so highly regarded. What an incredible camp! We are absolutely in LOVE with it! After traveling for three months from Perth to Darwin, we can confidently say this is one of our top favorites. The hot showers are such a delightful luxury! 💦😉 The fireplaces add an amazing touch, too. It's clear that it's a passion project done with so much love.

We loved our stay at Urban Retreat Darwin. Peter met us on arrival and guided us to our site (access a bit tight towing a 21ft caravan). Our power & water site was serenely secluded within a thoughtfully designed native garden alive with birds and wildlife. Well priced and conveniently located close to Darwin CBD and Casaurina Shopping Centre. The property is safe, securely fenced with remote fob access gate. It evens boasts a small pool for cooling off and clean, modern amenities including a washing machine which felt like our own private ensuite despite being shared with other guests. Peter provided printed information including camp info, tourist hotspot suggestions and brochures on local wildlife. Thank you Peter for sharing your slice of paradise with travellers. We loved The Urban Retreat! It is a lovely oasis in central Darwin, and Peter has done an incredible job with regeneration and re-wilding the 5 acres. Peter was a delight, and made sure we were comfortable and informed. Highly recommended !

2 nights at Relax on Bastin

Beautiful spot close enough to everything but with a country , bush atmosphere. Big sites with only us and another very quiet family camping. Amenities were clean and were all that was needed. Tim was very accommodating, letting adjust our booking at the last minute. I would suggest ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper as neighbouring dogs barked quite a bit some nights. Other than that a great place to camp close to Darwin. Thanks Tim !!

Weekend Trip to Mambo Lodge

Lovely couple, great quiet spot within a mango orchard. I got invited to a bbq in my first night. The RV is super comfortable, Enzo my dog and I really enjoyed the stay.

Weekend Trip to Coomalie Creek Camp Ground

Coomalie Creek was an amazing campground! It has a beautiful view of the creek and trees, plus SO much room for the kids to run around on the grass and kick the footy. There are fire pits to use, well kept showers and toilet to use… without the crowds of a generic campground. Syd was so helpful and answered any questions we had promptly beforehand. Definitely recommend Coomalie Creek!

Weekend Trip to Berry Springs Labush Estate

Friendly, animal feeding for the kids was awesome and a great safe space to camp. Loved it.

A lovely shaded campsite (bamboo) with super friendly owners and spotless, modern bathroom facilities. The toilet and shower were exceptionally clean, with disinfectant spray provided—a detail we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience close to the city. We’d definitely stay again. The Urban Retreat

Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu National Park. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and mountain biking spots. We are located on a 5-acre block on the edge of town. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

Relax on Bastin

Relax on Bastin is situated on a quiet no-through road with Howard Springs and Coolalinga shopping centres only 5 minutes drive and Darwin city only 30 minutes. The property has ample level space and shaded sites for tent, camper or caravan parking. There are fruit trees and seasonal tropical plants including bananas, pawpaw, pineapple and passionfruit. There is also a seasonal herb and veggie garden with chilli, basil and mint. Our backyard campsite is only 9 km from the centre of Alice Springs. Its located in a rural/urban setting. Alice Springs is as famous for the personality of its locals and contemporary and traditional art as the natural wonders, including the stunning Larapinta Trail and the MacDonnell Ranges, which surround it. The Swag Inn camping spot has access to an outdoor shower and toilet and laundry sink. Enjoy the view of the ranges and the amazing stars in the desert night sky from your campsite.
