Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches including Lee Point and Casuarina. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, The War Museum and Aviation Museum. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and biking trails.
We are located on a 5-acre block in the Northern Suburbs. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. We have a variety of native birds on the property and are close by to local bird watch areas.
You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD.
We are a small boutique site and only have 5 powered sites and 8 non powered sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. The property has a secured gate that requires fob access and a security entrance camera.
IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book two sites.
Please note The Bounganvillea site is open all year round and has a concrete base. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

We have 3 powered sites so there is no overcrowding. Plenty of spaces too, for off-grid campers. Our sites are undesignated so you can choose your own.
The modern amenities block has flushing toilets and solar powered hot water showers.
The semi-open camp kitchen, complete with fridge, gas BBQ, and a comfortable serving and dining area is available for dining and meal preparation.
The water for the Camp Kitchen and Amenities Block is supplied from good quality bore water which is pumped up to a large tank.
Water from the other taps around the grounds, as well as the Boat Wash, is only available when the bore is turned on. Please don’t hesitate to ask to use the boat wash area for cleaning fish or washing your boat.
The "Top Camp" walking trail is a 770m loop walk through the top section of the property where you can observe the unique Territory savannah bushland and spot seasonal birdlife bushland.

When we arrived at Athelle, we were impressed by the lovely, lush green camping sites. Anthony greeted us warmly and explained where to set up, as well as the location of the amenities and dump point.
The site was easy to back into, and setting up was a breeze with soft green grass underfoot. Power and water were conveniently located right beside the van.
The amenities were clean and tidy, with laundry facilities available if needed.
The night was cool, peaceful, and quiet.
