Ereluk - The Escarpment @ The Gorge

20 sites · RVs, Tents400 acres · Lansdowne, NT
Ereluk - Our personal name sake nestled between Jodetluk and Nitmiluk - Private, secluded, “Primitive Camp Sites” nestled around a 400 acre property in a unique Australian bush setting. Firstly named aptly “The Escarpment” for the truly beautiful ridge that runs kilometers along the block boundary, providing a perfect back drop to individual camp sites. Purpose built van pads spaced far enough apart to offer privacy and peace have been positioned with the Caravan in mind. Development has happened and we have been busy creating an all year round access site. Compacted Gravel access roads and both Camping and Caravan Pads located along the creek that flows in the wet around the campground. We have also added a camp Kitchen and basic toilet and shower block (Currently under construction and still will be if this note is present) along with 7 Powered Van sites. We still have the initial basic sites that were created for wet season access. These are a bit closer together as will be described in the description. Also a bit cheaper so happy campers all round! Ereluk - The true experience! Over The Creek - some of the best camping sites along the base of the escarpment are just waiting to be found. Yearly we fix up after the wet giving 4WD access to these hidden gems. A little more expensive but worth the extra for the views alone. On The Creek - Our most sort after sites! We have 3 sites only that are situated on the best part of the creek this block has to offer. Deep holes that are great for a swim with water so clear we drink it. Truly amazing and worth the extra $ for a sweet location. It is mostly 4WD access and all vans must be self-contained as no amenities, water or power are available at these sites. Those looking for a bush experience with plenty of activities to do during the day will not be disappointed.

Strangy's Place

6 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Virginia, NT
The weather is warm and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be! It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! The tropical gardens provide privacy and abundant bird life. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and unpowered sites in the horse yard. There is a single shower / toilet block available at the top of the driveway. We do have power to some sites, and we would appreciate it if you do not leave air conditioners running while you are off site. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston or Coolalinga, 25 minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour, we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Caravan parks in Northern Territory guide

Overview

From the dusty desert plains of the Red Centre to the wild beaches of Arnhem Land, the vast landscapes of the Northern Territory are made for road trips. Drive your RV through the outback to Alice Springs to camp by Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, then wind your way north through the desert to Tennant Creek. Further north, epic hikes and ancient Aboriginal rock art await at Nitmiluk National Park in Katherine, while the crocodile-filled wetlands and waterfalls of Kakadu National Park and Litchfield National Park are perennial favorites. RV campgrounds are plentiful throughout NT, whether you check into a tourist park or caravan park with full hookups, camp kitchens, and BBQs, or opt for a rustic campground with unpowered sites and pit toilets. Time your trip for dry season (May to October) for the most comfortable camping weather—summer in NT means scorching temperatures and tropical storms.
