Named aptly “The Escarpment” for the truly beautiful ridge that runs kilometers along the block boundary, providing a perfect back drop to individual camp sites. Purpose built van pads spaced far enough apart to offer privacy and peace have been positioned with the Caravan in mind. Whilst waiting for the wet & the long grass to let us onto the flats, we have set up an initial 10 sites that are all year round accessible. These are a bit closer together as will be described in the description. Also a bit cheaper so happy campers all round! It is mostly 4WD access and all vans must be self-contained as no amenities, water or power are available at these sites. Those looking for a bush experience with plenty of activities to do during the day will not be disappointed.

The weather has warmed up and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be in! You will need you airconditioner at this time of the year. It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required ) If you are travelling with a horse, we have a stable, water trough and can activate an electric fence for a horse yard. (price on application) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and we now have a shower and toilet available. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston, 25minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Need a driver for a night out in town, we can arrange that too! Local Fred's Pass Food and Carft Markets are open Saturday and Wednesday night.

Jean & John's Bynoe Stopover

The property is 40 acres of carefully maintained virgin rainforest. Our flora and fauna are exactly the same as nearby Litchfield National Park, unfortunately without any waterfalls. We have cleared about 10 acres of undergrowth leaving the trees for shade. Animals and other wildlife are abundant with the lilly pond on our front lawn being the only permanent water other than the Finniss River that they have in the area. We have hundreds of wallabies, goannas, frill necked lizards and plenty of bird life. Our pet Red Tailed Black Cockatoo "Butt" attracts the local wild ones, because she is happy they trust us so you can get closer to them than usual for photos. We have toilets and showers set up for our annual fishing competition which we hold for charity each Queens Birthday weekend. There is also a large wood fired BBQ in the same central area. The fish filleting table and boat cleaning area is also nearby. The local kites and other raptors including sea eagles and if you are lucky may see a wedgetailed eagle come in for fish scraps. Croc and dingo area - be aware!

This is the real Aussie outback. A natural bush camp with undulating countryside and a WWII history. Enjoy a good bushwalk or take your mountain bike. You'll see and hear lots of wildlife including wallabies, birds, wild horses, wild pigs and buffalo. Hear the dingoes howl at night. This place is perfect for stargazing while you relax around the campfire. The township of Batchelor is a short 10 minute drive away if you need supplies. The Litchfield Waterfalls are 40 minutes away. There is drinking water and a shower (please be very careful of how much you use). The campsite has a picnic table for meals. There is no toilet so you will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet. Dogs welcome.

Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required ) If you are travelling with a horse, we have a stable, water trough and can activate an electric fence for a horse yard. (price on application) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and we now have a shower and toilet available. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston, 25minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Need a driver for a night out in town, we can arrange that too! Local Fred's Pass Food and Carft Markets are open Saturday and Wednesday night.

Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu National Park. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and mountain biking spots. We are located on a 5-acre block on the edge of town. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

"The Escarpment" @ The Gorge

Private, secluded, “Primitive Camp Sites” nestled around a 400 acre property in a unique Australian bush setting. Named aptly “The Escarpment” for the truly beautiful ridge that runs kilometers along the block boundary, providing a perfect back drop to individual camp sites. Purpose built van pads spaced far enough apart to offer privacy and peace have been positioned with the Caravan in mind. Whilst waiting for the wet & the long grass to let us onto the flats, we have set up an initial 10 sites that are all year round accessible. These are a bit closer together as will be described in the description. Also a bit cheaper so happy campers all round! It is mostly 4WD access and all vans must be self-contained as no amenities, water or power are available at these sites. Those looking for a bush experience with plenty of activities to do during the day will not be disappointed.

We are located on the Arnhem Hwy half way between Darwin and Kakadu National Park. Enjoy designated walking tracks, animal feeding, see native wildlife and birds. Relax as you watch amazing sunsets. This campsite is dog friendly. You must be self-contained. We are conveniently located just a short 9km drive from fuel and basic supplies.
