Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. The site can be used a base camp to fishing, wineries, bushwalking and ski fields. There is free wood for camp fires. We loved tent camping at site 2. Leah met us as we arrived and was incredibly helpful in showing us where our site was and pointing out where the amenities were. We really appreciated how accomodating Leah was to our individual needs. Our camping setup is primitive, but Leah offered us more permanent shelter when a big storm rolled through during our stay. Use of the pool and interactions with the farm animals were added bonuses. We couldn't be more grateful and highly recommend that everyone stays here when visiting the region.

Wonderful open area with plenty of options along the riverbend. Fishing difficult due to snags but we definitely gave it a good crack. Very steep decent down to river camping area. We had heavy caravan and luckily dry weather allowed us to get out ok. Also an awesome winery 🍷 2 mins away.

3rd time visiting Karoola Station. This time we stayed at River Bend as the grass was too high at The Lagoon. There were 3 of us with caravans plenty of room and nice and peaceful spot. We had 4 dogs with us and they were pretty happy too!

Property was beautiful. Access through the property was well sign posted. We stayed at the lagoon where there was slow moving water for the kids to play in and fast water for fishing and adult fishing. Be warned the GPS dot for the lagoon of used in Google maps will direct you to the north side of the river and the camp-site is on the south side of the river. All in all looking forward to camping here again with friends.

We had an afternoon and overnight at an easily accessible, private, single campsite on the Bundidgery Creek. The list of facilities is impressive and although a little rustic, they are comfortable and functional. We did not use the pizza oven or gas 3 burner BBQ that were part of the camp kitchen. The fire pit was large and well built, perfect for our cooking. A hot shower and flushing toilet were uncommon facilities at a river campsite with a sandy beach.
