Camping site is located in 41 acres of natural bush land, the perfect get away for nature lovers, hikers, horse riders and bird watchers. There is a dam and a forested area studded with granite boulders. The property is in an an elevated spot, it has lovely views and great places to camp and there's a lovely yielding atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground. We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general. Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there. The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150. Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW! There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals. 13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out! No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds. On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.

It's the go-to location to provide you with a getaway to relax and also enjoy all the amenities the area provides. A place to put your feet up and relax and feel comfortable and at the same time providing space for you to stroll in the cool of an evening or sit around gazing at the stars without the concerns of driving to another location. An ideal place to sit during the day or evening, drinking your coffee or sipping a wine while you enjoy a good book, play a game watch the sunset of the evening and subsequently the stars on a clear night or simply see the local wildlife early in the morning as they explore the grassed areas within metres of the house. The Loft Haven is perfect for families (not young children) or two couples. You MUST be self-contained as there are NO on site Toilet or Shower Facilities if you are not Please do not book. There is plenty of free firewood to use on those cool evenings or even on a pleasant evening when you just want to sit around a fire. (At certain times outdoor fires may be restricted due to local fire safety requirements.) We recommend bringing warm clothes in the Autumn and Winter months as the region is known for falling below zero on some evenings with frosts and some years even having light fall of snow. The Perfect Place for a Getaway, whether just for the weekend or longer, from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Wyberber valley, within minutes you can drive to drive discover Girraween National Park which is home to an array of lifelike granite sculptures and eucalypt forest rich in some of Australia’s most appealing plant and animal life. Go for a swim in the natural water holes and rock pools. Nestled in the granite belt wine country you will find many cellar doors within a few kilometres drive. We are within minutes of the Girraween National Park and also pleasant drives to numerous national parks etc eg Mount Norman, Bald Rock National Park, Boonoo Boonoo National Park, Basket Swamp National Park and the Sundown National Park all within easy reach and great places for a day out of exploration. Within 15 minutes you can obtain various supplies or food from the Ballandean general store, the Ballandean Tavern, Saint Jude’s Cafe and restaurant and also to the south of us the Wallangarra general store. Wallangarra General store also make country pizzas on a Friday night. Provisions can also be obtained from the general shops and supermarkets in Stanthorpe or Tenterfield both of which are approximately 20-minute drive North or South of our location. There are more than 50 Wineries in this region, and every taste is catered for whether you prefer Red or white. There is also a specialist distillery where you can sample and purchase many liqueurs. (The Castle) You can simply relax and enjoy the property which is surrounded by our beautiful wildlife; we have a wide variety of birds, wallabies, Kangaroos, lizards, turtles, ducks and random sightings of deer and bunnies. or Enjoy the many activities available: - Take a tour and enjoy tastings at some of Queensland’s most awarded wineries, and olive groves, visit the lavender farm, the soap factory, the cheese factory, juice farms Bush walks, swimming holes, Restaurants, Wine tasting, Wildflower walks, Fossicking, Antiques, Art, picking strawberries (seasonal) etc. Cold winters mean can enjoy times around the fire, frosts and the occasional snow as well as the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe Festival, Christmas in July and also the Jumpers and Jazz Festival.

Shelter on Gunyah, though only 30 mins drive from Tenterfield township, is a secluded 120 acre country property that hosts a range of farm animals for kids and adults to enjoy and views over the valleys of Woodside. Enjoy a spring fed dam great for swimming, a river with a waterfall, animal petting, amazing views across the escarpment, clear skies filled with stars, campfires, and hiking. We have a beautiful 40 acre section of our property fenced off from the animals with loads of spots to hitch up your own caravans/tents etc. We are currently finishing the toilet and shower block as well as the main shed which has a games room, bedrooms, kitchen etc. We will advise once that is open to the public. Campers will need their own camping toilet and must be self sufficient. Currently no one is living on site so it will be a private stay; however if you need help we have a neighbour who is handy and can help out if you run into any issues :)

We loved camping at Loft Haven Meadows. The setting is beautiful, with lovely views of the rolling hills and plenty of birds, microbats and kangaroos to watch. We had lots of room to ourselves, free firewood and potable water close by. Brian is always up for a chat and made us (a queer couple) feel very welcome 🌈 we can't wait to visit again in wildflower season.

Nice quiet peaceful spot, well kept and maintained, nice spots for campfires, plenty of wood around as well. The terrain is undulating so if you’ve got a caravan you’ll possibly need to do some minor levelling, Brian was very helpful in guiding us to the most suitable spot though.

We loved every bit of our stay here, from the friendly horse, goat and sheep, through to the wallabies and the possum that visited. If you’re an animal person, you will love this place. Lots of birds to see as well. Great walks through the bush amongst the granite boulders looking at rock Wallaby.The amenities are probably the best we’ve had on our long service leave. Be prepared for Duncan’s humour and generosity.

This is the second time I've camped at Eagle Ridge, this time was even better than the first. Very secluded, tranquil and the rapid ride on the tube was a highlight. You can also chill in the river right out front of camp where the water flow is quite light. Will be going back again.

I had the most magical glamping experience over the weekend. It was exactly what I needed to unwind and detach from reality. The location was so peaceful and relaxing—everything felt in perfect harmony with nature. Kristy and Daniel were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and made sure every detail was taken care of to ensure a truly special stay. A highlight was how much fun my city slicker dog had playing in the creek, sunbaking, and being able to roam freely for the weekend! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Just a heads-up, don't trust the GPS, manually enter the address or you will end up walkabouts like I did. Well worth the trip!

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Gerard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

We are 40kms from Gibraltar Range National Park, pet friendly, and offer secure camping and a place to leave your pets so you can explore the area. We offer a pet minding service during the day for a small fee for those who want to visit the National parks. There is a bitumen road to the boundary and then an all-weather gravel road to the site. One camping site is beside the river and the other is a choice of mown spots for you to select from. We offer campfire pits and free wood - limited amount collected beside each fire pit. More firewood can be purchased from Bob, our Caretaker. There is abundant wildlife, including Platypus and a pleasant track along the river, wandering in among the granite rocks, to a picnic place.
