Suitable for all size caravans, motorhomes, or any RV, 2WD's, tents, camper trailers and 4WD's with excellent all weather access straight off the main sealed road👍🏼 Lovely shady sites as well as plenty of open sunny pasture for your solar with use of shared portaloos in main camping paddock. You may also camp in the dam paddock by the water (when available) however, you will need to be completely self sufficient with your own porta potty. Firewood and eggs etc are available to be purchased from reception. *DUE TO FIRE ANT RISK, BRING YOUR OWN (BYO) FIREWOOD IS NOT PERMITTED* Suitable for large groups such as 4WDs, family gatherings, horse riders, weddings and school groups. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think. There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think. There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. Come and camp in this quiet, peaceful location. Campers will be able to enjoy state forest access to explore wildlife or sit back, relax and take in the extensive views of the ocean, farmland and green valley, established tropical fruit trees, wandering cattle in close proximity and occasional native animals wandering by, city lights at night can be seen while under the stars, privacy assured. There are also bush walks for guests to enjoy. There are few facilities here, tank water and a sawdust composting toilet, picnic table and small contained fire pit also... campers need to be self sufficient with optional own toilet/shower facilities and leave no trace. The camp site has had an upgrade beautification and facility program that is fully available. The property is in close proximity to the ocean and the city, just a 10 minute drive too the Coffs Harbour CBD. You're welcome to bring your pet, but they must be supervised and kept under control. Campfire are permitted in the provided fire area. Please note that some sites require 4WD access and are a steep climb (see photos). Caravan access is limited to small to medium length only. Large vans require assistance so not recommended for this site.

IMPORTANT: Please read this and our site descriptions/rules before booking! N.B. We do not accept children under 8 years of age. Our check-in period is 2 PM to 5.30 PM. We also require guests to provide us with an ETA, preferably at the time of booking and no later than 24 hours prior to arrival. We expect you to arrive within 30 minutes of the time you specify. If you are unable to comply with these conditions, then you should not book with us. We do not have staff available to deal with early, late or unannounced arrivals. Our campsite facilities are basic and best suited to self-contained campers. We DO NOT provide general toilet or ablution facilities. However, we do have portable toilet and shower units available for hire (see under Extras). We are a 55 hectare alpaca & llama stud & sugar cane farm, just off the Pacific Hwy, on Harwood Island, in the Clarence River. Our extensive and carefully-maintained pastures offer a wide selection of peaceful, private campsites. There are also numerous small stands of natural vegetation providing shade and shelter. In close proximity to us are shopping centres, surfing beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We operate as a cottage industry, processing alpaca fleece & manufacturing products from it. We regularly conduct tours & maintain a small farm shop. We also offer a full range of home-cooked meals. NOTE: If you book Extras or Meals you choice of campsites will be limited.

HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. We were looking for a secluded place to set up camp on our way back to Sydney. We camped at watermelon flat, it was everything we could ask for. Rod welcomed us along with Reddy the dog that came and greeted us each morning. You Must do the walk to the waterfall it’s truely a hidden paradise to behold. Worth the adventure. Campsite was well maintained and the stars are wonderful at night. The nearby town Glenreagh is such a hidden gem be sure to check out the bakery and say hi to the team there! Thanks for having us to stay!

Had a great stay Here. We were greeted by both host upon arrival and shortly after. Only downside was that there was no signal where we were staying, and they only offer 10 amp for electrical. But that was said when we booked. Overal was great for a night !

Awesome green huge area with enough space for everyone. We were a bit worried about the place would be overcrowded, but the number of visitors after 4th of Jan were very minor (about 15). The sites could be picked up under shade and on the sunny spots. Access to the creek is awesome to have a refreshing bath. Toilet area is kept clean. There’s laundry area as well. Drinking water is also available.
