Weekend Trip to The Ranch on Clarence

We loved staying in beddy blue at the Ranch. The whole experience was amazing, from turning up and being greeted by Jingles, 4 friendly dogs and a stallion, to staying in beddy blue which was super comfortable, to having a wood fired bath overlooking the river. Everything you need to have a relaxing stay was provided. We also added on a horse ride the following day which was outstanding. Shanti is very accommodating and easy to get along with, and we felt extremely comfortable on the horses she had picked out for us. We have mixed riding experience however the ride was exciting and enjoyable for both of us. We will definitely be back and look forward to doing so.

Wonderful, peaceful land to stay on. Lex & Magdalena are very welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend, will be back again

1 night at Pointro Bunkhouse and Campground

Beautiful camp site, lots of space, hot showers and working toilet. We could not fault anything at all!Tthe views of the lake are amazing, plenty spots to fish, launch boats etc, it’s essentially a campers dream! Zero service on mobile phones so take that in to note if you struggle being cut off. We will be back for sure, thanks so much :)

This place is amazing and we will definitely be back. My parter and I booked two nights with our dog. We were in the Cove which was completely private, trees on 3 sides and the river on the other. The wood fire tub was the cherry on top. 4WD recommended to get in out, however we saw other people there with SUVs do fine. Definitely worth the trip from Brisbane, can’t wait to come back!

Overall great spot. Has no reception at first I was like mmm but then it was actually refreshing as we struggle to be present today as life is busy. Says there was no showerd but there was so another up and overall lot is huge so heaps fo privacy. Would recommend.

Good site (shady camp). Loved the tree. Very close to bathrooms (lights on all night). Directions are terrible. Look for the Pointro Sign to turn left off Burnett Creek Rd. Guys next to us smoked weed and hot boxer their car, we’re super loud and obnoxious. Everyone else quiet.

Weekend Trip to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

We returned to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat for another stay, this time in the Glamp Tent—and it was perfect. Everything was thoughtfully provided: cooking facilities, clean toilets and showers, firewood, bedding, and towels. The location is stunning, right on the river, and we even enjoyed the hot tub under the stars at night. Well done Dan & Kristy—you keep making this place even more special

We booked a weekend at The Ranch for our daughter’s 10th birthday. She is a mad horse rider so was looking for lots of horse riding and time with horses! We had a fabulous weekend, and will definitely make plans to go back! Shanti was a wonderful and welcoming host, so knowledgeable and experienced with her beautiful horses. She catered to our unique needs as riders, matching us with a horse each to suit our experience. The troopy ride was thrilling, riding behind horses galloping in the wild was just the best! Shanti went out of her way to set up Beddy Blue for us and we loved the space, right on the river, fire bath at night, and private! She made us feel very welcome on her land and around her home. Thanks so much Shanti and see you again soon!

We loved our stay at the Ranch. The property is incredible! Anyone who wants a great experience with dogs and horses MUST visit (ensure to do the Safari, seeing the entire herd running together is just something else)! I could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday weekend. Shanti is just the best host. Her horses and dogs are awesome (specially Mr Durango - I hope I am spelling his name correct), he was a delight and super fun to ride! Shanti well exceed our expectations in all aspects. We were unlucky to arrive when it was raining so we couldn’t get a real feel for the property. As it rained all night we decided to leave early and not have our 2nd night there as we couldn’t light the fire and the leeches were biting us and our dog so we thought it best to revisit Stuart’s property another time when we can make full use of it all. We will be back 👍

Emu Creek Retreat

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Gerard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

You will feel like you are immersed in the beauty of nature here and yet you are only 6 minutes easy drive from the village of Dunoon, NSW 2480 and 45 minutes beautiful country drive from glorious Byron Bay beaches and it's very exciting night life! On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

Top of the World

Look for the big red letterbox with the blue flag on the right. This spot is for people that think that they are the only ones left in the world. Once at the top, it's yours to live in peace and quiet. 56 acres of undulating hills covered with native bush land, with 10 cleared sites for you to set up camp. If you like an adventure then this mountain is for you. 2 sites called "Top of the world tent site 1 and tent site 2" are accessible by 4WD only (tent camping is advised) There is a step 19 degree road up to the penthouse summit thats at 1000ft. However if it is dry you can tow a camping trailer but only if you have a winch. If it rains the only way down is backwards tethered to trees via your winch. It's an adventure. Campers are welcome to have a campfire, there is plenty of timber on the ground that you can collect or bring your own. As long as there is no fire ban. There are some great bush walks you can enjoy, including down to the creek (about a 40 min walk). The creek is picturesque with lemon trees and peach trees along the edge while in season. There are 2 sites down at the creek called Firefly's and platypus and these are for off road self contained 4x4 campers and those with a tent. The creek is pristine and crystal clear unless it's raining. These 2 sites are absolutely private if you book them both. If you don't mind sharing the creek with another camper then you only need to book 1 site. There is also a 10 month of the year 30 metre high waterfall (depending on rain fall this waterfall can vary from massive water to slow water) and another seasonal waterfall. Don't forget the dam for swimming with the spa tub and fresh mountain spring water constantly flowing into it from an inch and a half poly pipe constantly overflowing into the dam. The water in the creek is safe to drink with no filter needed. The creek is running and crystal clear and very private. If you are in a 2 wheel drive RV/ Motorhome you can book the "Paw Paw hill site" or "a dam good view" There is one site that is all grass accessible in the dry weather. Plenty of drinking water is also available at all sites either via a tap or the creek running water. All campers MUST HAVE their own portable toilet. If no portable toilet you can purchase one from many camping stores at a reasonable price before coming. Doing number 2 in the bush is totally unacceptable. Because this is a leave no trace camp site we do ask you to take all trash with you when you leave as well. There is no council rubbish collection in this area. We respect our beautiful paradise and we know you will appreciate it also. If you make a fire please leave it so I can mow around it once you leave. E.G Please remove all sticks.
