Guests staying with us are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campers can launch a boat from the property to enjoy all the river has to offer. You can drive the boat to the Ulmarra Hotel nearby, they have a jetty where you can park and enjoy a feed and a drink. You also can take the Ulmarra Ferry and Drive to the Ulmarra Hotel for dinner or lunch. You can access the property via road from Grafton or via Ferry from Lawrence and Maclean. We are located just 11kms from Grafton should you need any supplies. Please note, caravans are not permitted on the Ferry but camper trailers are okay. Higher Ground is an off-grid property that feels a world away, but is only 15 minutes drive from Maclean, 25 minutes from the stunning beaches at Brooms Head, Angourie and Yamba, and less than 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Visit our organic permaculture farm and experience the self-sufficient life you’ve been yearning for, with off-grid solar, tank-water and a waterhole for swimming. Vegies, fruit trees, heritage breed chickens with babies hatching, a shade house for seedlings – this garden is designed to minimise effort and inputs and maximize productivity. Learn about animal integration into the system, new ways of composting and food forest systems. We have a homestead for rent, Glamping Belle tents and also a variety of camping options, Each site is relatively flat and has enough shade in the hottest part of the day. Whether you are in the house or camping, you will have privacy both from your fellow campers with each site being at least 30m apart, separated by trees yet still open enough to enjoy the views of the land and each aspect of the sun throughout the day. We have a screened in camp kitchen for you to enjoy with fridge, tank water and solar power. Each site has a metal fire pit and plenty of space for 2-3 tents or caravan /motorhome with good access during the dry season. The composting toilet and hot shower are close by. We are dog friendly as long as your pet is quiet and well managed. Off-lead can be decided depending on the dog and the interaction with our passive 10 year old Koolie who is very relaxed around other dogs. They must be controlled as sheep are nearby and we have an abundance of wildlife. We have a slackline, a rope swing and badmitten for anyone looking to include more play in their stay! Responsible campfires are permitted in the metal fire pits in designated area when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood can be purchased for $15 P bag Full Mobile reception for Telstra and Optus although we encourage you to minimise screen time during your stay and immerse yourself in the off-grid lifestyle 😉. The road in is also suitable for a 2WD but more comfortable in a 4WD. Drinking water is provided. Please bring your own water for cooking and washing up. This is a caravan park with a large grassy camping area. Close to highway (M1) and beach. It is an ideal place for families to stay for a few days to explore the beach, national park and a lot more. For travelers who want to stop overnight, this park is conveniently located to get on & off the highway with ease. We are dog-friendly for friendly dogs. We are upgrading the infrastructure (water, sewer, stormwater and electricity) of the park. Due to capital requirement and for the convenience of existing residents, the upgrade will be undertaken in multiple stages. The road will be concreted after all infrastructure are installed. Savarnh's Island is a 100 acre privately owned Island on the north coast of NSW Australia. Five kilometres of riverbank to camp on. We had such a lovely stay at Ina and Lance’s site. The macadamia farm/forested fairy glen is beautiful. It's lush, quiet, private and incredibly peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you immediately slow down and relax to the sounds of nature. Ina and her family are genuinely warm and welcoming hosts, and you can really see how much care they’ve put into the property. The old silos they’ve converted are a great touch - the BBQ/recreation area is both practical and charming, and a really nice spot to spend the evening. The bathroom silo was spotless and well set up, with good lighting and a proper hot shower, which was much appreciated. Everything felt clean, thoughtful, and well looked after. Overall, it’s a special place that feels personal and well cared for. We’d happily stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. The camp-site and amenities are well maintained. The river (currently low) and kayaks (additional hire) we are huge hit with our family. We have our own inflatable kyak and row boat but loved hiring the ones available to have our own. Our first trip not bringing ANY firewood but there was plenty available to purchase. Host is very friendly and approachable when needed but also respects your space. A++ Host. Lismore(local town and shops) is a short drive away. Small city with most things you need if forgotten or if issues arise. We plan to return!

The farm was absolutely stunning! Lance and Ina were wonderful hosts. Very welcoming. We bought some macadamia nuts from them which I cannot wait to try! The camp site itself was also gorgeous. Completely secluded with a self built little hut and toilet/shower hut. Amenities were super clean and well kept. Would definitely want to visit again!! Thanks a lot :)

A really nice, relaxed campground. Fantastic view from the very clean composting loo; great little camp kitchen and lovely farm dogs! Close enough to the beaches at Yamba; Brooms Head and the little town of Maclean (where there is a dump point - handy!). Would definitely recommend and would stay here again next time we are up that way.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite thanks to the wonderful hosts, Mer and Ben. They were incredibly welcoming and even gave us the option of choosing between two sites, which made our stay more comfortable. When our car battery unexpectedly died, they were so kind and immediately helped us get back on the road, turning a stressful moment into a positive experience. The campsite is peaceful and well looked after, but it’s the genuine hospitality from Mer and Ben that really makes this place special. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it to others.
