Riverside King Valley is set on 16 acres on the banks of the King river featuring 10 spacious campsite spread along the property. Just a half an hour drive from Wangaratta, 45 minutes from Benalla and an hour from Mansfield. Each site offers something a little different whether it is a spacious site for a large group or party or a smaller site for a family weekend away. Our site is accessible for all vehicle types and is dog-friendly as long as pets are well-controlled. Campfires are allowed when restrictions aren’t in place, and firewood and kindling is available for purchase (see Extras). Please keep in mind that the property is a working farm and there will be cars and machinery onsite nearby to some of the sites. Each powered site has only 1 power supply. Mains water is available at the property to top up your Vans or Gerry cans should you need to replenish, so never run out of water 😊 It is surrounded by picturesque green countryside laden with ancient Red Rivergum Trees and billabongs with access to river frontage for fishing and the King River Site and White Cedar sites have a swimming hole for those hot summer days. The Secret Island site does have a swimming spot but not as safe for little ones. The river is ideal for swimming, floating and fishing. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property. Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided at the site plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around. The King River Site is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us. Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras). We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

North East Vic is a tourist mecca, with food and wine, lakes and rivers, cycling and markets, mountains and waterfalls. - We are only 2 and half hours from Melbourne and 20 mins off Hume Fwy, via Wangaratta. Please read the whole listing, lots to tell you about us. Campsites 1 is large and can accommodate two vans and 2 - 3 tents (or 14 -16 people). Campsites 2 and 3 are smaller and more suited to one van with 1 - 2 tents (or 4 - 6 people). Ample car parking. Campsites are 110m apart with a light screen of trees in between, no crowds here. Accessed via 3.5km of rough dirt track - not recommended for low vehicles or low towing vans. The track is rough BUT easily driven by all vehicles - just drive slowly. Dogs welcome, firewood is easily gathered by you, and often in piles by your campsite. Campsites are NOT near water. They are near a dry gully, with an **** unfenced dam.**** We have a beautiful swimming hole at the property entrance, in Boggy Creek. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shaded lawn area, BBQ and pot belly fire. The creek is 3kms from the campsites. Near The Hut is the gate to take a walk up to Sugar Loaf (500m return), where you can see amazing grass trees and place a rock on the cairn. Look for the wallabies that live up there. Stay with us to get away from crowded campsites, to enjoy a quieter holiday, while being close to a great tourist district. The King Valley showcases wineries, gourmet food, eateries, restaurants, pubs, brewery, even a gin distillery. We are surrounded by creeks, rivers and lakes, with many fishing, swimming and kayaking options - all within a 30 minute drive! In the area you can expect terrific access to local wineries and gourmet restaurants in the region, tourist hotspots like Beechworth, the king valley and Mt Buffalo, Bright and the snow fields are also achievable for a day trip throughout winter and the Ovens river is only a short drive with several popular swimming holes or spots to cast a line in. There are 2 campsites on the property (Ovens and King), both accessible from the main driveway and signed for your direction. 4wd are recommended in the wetter months as access is via a typical paddock track. Both campsites are leave no trace so your own WC facilities are a must with all waste taken away with you. No power available at the sites either. Fires permitted in pits provided during the appropriate periods, and you can either bring your own wood or you can purchase for a small fee. Pets are welcome, i do have a Border Collie (Errol) who is friendly and may say hello. The property is fenced but I wouldn't say "pet proof" and the main gate is left open majority of the time, so please keep an eye on your furry friends. We also have a large mob of kangaroos that visit most evenings and mornings, we don't feed them and they wont bother you either, but they are welcome. Great set up, four spots to choose from all have their Plus side. Hosts great have prepared all the areas well. Fishing is good, caught many cod all undersize and released but good fun. Town not far but away from lights and noise.

Amazing place to stay, really private, sheltered with plenty of shade as well as sun. Right next to the river with a lovely big pebble beach area. Picnic table, hot shower and nice clean toilet, hammock, fire pit, some cooking facilities, deck chairs on the beach area, fresh lemons (seasonal). Both myself and my dog loved our stay here, it would also be good for larger groups but I loved having it all to myself.

Gorgeous views of the river and the old vineyard with mountains behind. Clean port a loo, lovely hot shower, fire pits and a cute little pebble beach on the river. Michael is lovely and really does his best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

Easy to find, gracious and no fuss host, grassy and level picturesque spot by the Ovens River that has the best collection of skimming rocks (see if your child can beat my eldest’s record of eight skips before hitting the opposite bank!). Weekend Trip to Billabong Flats Farm

Beautiful shady spot by the King River. Hosts were very responsive and friendly. Town water available close by if needed. Very close to town but far enough out of town to feel like you were out in the bush. We will return!

4 nights at Myrtle Beech Campground

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful river setting. Plenty of bird life to see and hear. Lucky to spend half an hour watching a platypus feed. Fire every night. Michael gives clear directions. Warmly welcomes. Has a list of things to do, places to eat, wineries etc in the area. He is proud of what he offers, has plans to make you feel even more spoilt. Walk or ride to town.

Our absolute favourite camp site to date! Daemon was a very hospitable host. The site was amazing. Beautiful shady trees, king river was stunning. Water was so clear. We will definitely be back.

2 nights at Panorama on Oxenbury

Great to have such a quiet place to ourselves with lovely views. Also great to have access to power for our e-bikes a little lounge area to escape the heat and the flies that were around that day. A little expensive for just 2 of us but would be cheap for groups. Excellent instructions And easy to access.

Really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this camp, lucky enough to have enjoyed it all on my own with my 2 GSP’s and plenty of space. Well looked after and right on the Ovens river it was the perfect place to fill up my cup❤️
