We had Base Camp to ourselves for 6 nights. It was perfect. Plenty of room, close to the river, hot showers, clean toilets and sun lines on the river front. Great base for touring the local area. Definite would stay again.

Had a great two nights at Michael’s property. He really has thought of everything and makes camping very relaxing and stress free. Clean toilet and a warm shower. Wheelbarrow of fire wood, dropped off for when you arrive ($30). Optional flood lights which was perfect for when we needed to set up a tent in the dark. Bins are provided, a hammock to lie in, chairs by the river and the option to fish and catch a giant cod. Would highly recommend. Location is so convenient and lots to do in and around Mytleford.

Michael was incredibly attentive and provided clear, easy-to-follow directions, making the location simple to find. We arrived at a beautiful campsite right by the creek (Base Camp), which was the perfect setting. The facilities were spotless and camp being well-equipped with everything you might need. It was such a peaceful and relaxing spot—exactly what we were looking for!

We felt quite at home in such a lovely piece of Australia. You are only a 1.8km walk into all the cafe's in Myrtleford, yet sitting by the river you could be a thousand miles from everyone. Michael makes everyone feel welcome and loves to share his piece of paradise with other's.

Beautiful campsite with everything you could want. I particularly loved the hammocks and deck chairs down next to the water. It was so good to have a toilet and hot shower there as well.

We started off on the wrong foot when we pulled up, not understanding we would be sharing the space with a lot of other people but we quickly learnt there is room for everyone. The camp was spacious with luscious soft grass, the facilities were immaculate and although there were a lot of other campers enjoying the grounds (long weekend) we never felt crowded. Michael was super helpful, super informative and super friendly. We have already recommended to friends and family!

The area was beautiful as a half-way point for our trip from Melb to Sydney. There’s a great creek right next to the camp site, as well as toilets and showers. Michael was lovely and greeted us on arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. Would definitely come back again.

Michael’s land was absolutely beautiful and peaceful the perfect place to unwind and recharge. What really stood out to us was how well-maintained and thoughtfully set up everything was. The surroundings felt private and serene, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature without feeling crowded. Michael was also a very welcoming and considerate host, making the whole experience smooth and comfortable from start to finish. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a quiet getaway to switch off, spend quality time with friends or family, and enjoy the natural setting. We left feeling refreshed and would happily return again.

The sunset camp was stunning, nice green grass, bbq, toilet, hot shower & bins!! With its own Little Rock beach on the river our dogs had a blast! I would highly commend this camp.. Michael was an amazing host, he has everything covered and very helpful with local knowledge! We will definitely be back 🏕️

An incredible campsite! Michael has thought of absolutely everything you might need to enjoy your stay. Super clean toilets, clear directions to the spot, a beautiful clear river to swim in and thoughtful touches provided like pool noodles and banana lounges. Michael took the time to meet us, show us our site and provide us with info about local places to visit and eat at. We loved our stay - and so did our puppy!

We had exclusive use of the campground and it was just magical. Right on a small river, which the kids loved swimming in. Toilet and shower were clean and well looked after. Michael was a great host and we loved exploring the area and can’t wait to come back!

I’m really only writing this review about my second stay here to let people know that getting up for sunrise is worth the effort, while sunset is gorgeous take a short walk down the grass between the river and the old vineyard to watch the sunrise.

A wonderful first spot of camping for the family - 2 adults, 2 young kids and 2 dogs. Everything has been thourght of for your comfort and convenience. And the location and surrounds are gorgeous. You are nestled amoung shady trees, next to a crystal clear stoney creek, and surrounded beautiful wildlife. Michael was lovely and extremely attentive from the get go, making our first time camping as a family stress free, and a real treat. Guests are very well cared about. We loved it! Will be back!

Amazing place to stay, really private, sheltered with plenty of shade as well as sun. Right next to the river with a lovely big pebble beach area. Picnic table, hot shower and nice clean toilet, hammock, fire pit, some cooking facilities, deck chairs on the beach area, fresh lemons (seasonal). Both myself and my dog loved our stay here, it would also be good for larger groups but I loved having it all to myself.

Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful river setting. Plenty of bird life to see and hear. Lucky to spend half an hour watching a platypus feed. Fire every night. Michael gives clear directions. Warmly welcomes. Has a list of things to do, places to eat, wineries etc in the area. He is proud of what he offers, has plans to make you feel even more spoilt. Walk or ride to town.

This is one of the best camps I have stayed at! Michael has made such an effort to make the whole trip a success, from giving good directions, greeting you at arrival and showing you where to go. He also has a list of things to do in the area which was super helpful. The sites are green and private. I could even walk barefoot on the lawn which doesn’t happen often in Aus! The toilets and showers are super clean and bins are provided which again makes the stay easy. Easy river access and only a short walk from town. We will def be back

Unfortunately I only got to stay one night and I did have the place to myself. Both camp sites are spacious and well maintained. Located close to town but with no noise whatsoever apart from the river and the birds. Michael is a great host, very accommodating and keen to ensure you enjoy your stay.

Mick's place is delightful. Tucked away with complete privacy but an easy walk into Mytleford. Surrounded by trees, the River Ovens runs along the edge of the site, with easy access on a shallow stoney bank. Clear water. Mick has thought of everything needed for an extra luxurious stay. Toilets, hot shower, lighting, seating and more. We can highly recommend this piece of paradise and will definitely return. Thank you Mick for your generosity and especially the additional help with sorting the mechanical issue on the car.

I couldn't recommend this beautiful place more. The views were sensational, and the camp spot was 10/10. The property is immaculate and Michael was a fantastic host, his directions were nice and clear prior to our arrival. He couldn't be more accommodating. Do yourself a favour and dont miss out on this slice of paradise, our kids and us (mum n dad) cant wait to go stay again.
