Absolutely magical property! I stayed at the Secret Island site, so peaceful and secluded! Instructions and communication from the hosts were on point! I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful property for families

What a lovely site to stay at. Heaps of room from r the kids to run around in. Nice and quiet, really close to town. Property is well maintained, great little touches like firewood at the fire pit, a restful hammock under a shady tree. Was originally a bit concerned about water access as we were travelling with toddlers - pleasantly surprised to see that the river was fenced and access was through a gate, took a lot of the stress off. Kerryn is a fabulous host, we loved our stay.

Perfect mini break

We loved our stay at Billabong Flats. It is only 5 minutes from the town of Wangaratta but feels a whole world away. The spot is perfect for swimming with easy access to the river. The area is very large and would be awesome with a group of friends but also lovely and private for a couple. The ground is level so it’s easy to set up your van. Our dog enjoyed the space and also took himself in for a dip often. There are many magnificent gum trees that provide plenty of shade and are beautiful to see out of the windows as you wake up with the sun. There are also lots of birds and birdsong. There is a fire pit, camp oven fire pit, a large picnic table, lots of stump seats (or side tables) around the fire pit and facing the river. The property is beautifully maintained and the sites well thought out and it is very pleasant for a wander around. Kerryn and John are fantastic, thoughtful hosts. There if you need them but not intrusive. The communication with Kerryn prior to our arrival and during our stay was always easy. I would 100% recommend staying here. We will definitely return.

We loved our trip to Secret Island camp! Was a beautiful, private site with heaps of room. Nice and close to the river for a cool off during the hot days. Kerryn was a very welcoming host and her communication and directions were spot on

Lovely flat large paddock next to and above the river, (not next to water edge which is what I expected) wanted to be able to fish and leave the rods in while being on camp. Besides that I can't fault the owners, they were very helpful and friendly, check in daily and providing local guidance. It's a clean site with ample shade. Close convenient mains water tap. Tip. If you want camp on the river pick the king river site. It seems this is where you have easier acces to swimming and fishing by your camp. Lots of wildlife mainly birds (kookaburra) is your alarm clocks and owls during the night. Enjoyed the stay

We had a fantastic two-night stay at this Hipcamp and would absolutely come back. The location is ideal, close enough to town for convenience, but far enough away that you wouldn’t even know it. It was incredibly peaceful. The nights were a real highlight. With no light pollution, the stars were stunning, perfect for sitting back and unwinding. There’s also a great swimming hole on the property, which was such a bonus during the day. Refreshing water and a beautiful spot to relax. Overall, a quiet, scenic, and well-located campsite. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful escape that’s still close to amenities.

We had a great time at king river site. Plenty of room to space ourselves out and the kids spent the entire day in the river. Loved walking around the property and visiting all the animals too. Lovely hosts and a beautiful spot.

An idyllic 3 nights at this site with our own little bit of the King River Really spacious and private, beautiful sunsets and so close to all the comforts of Wang just a 5 minute drive away The dogs absolutely loved it too Kerryn and John were very helpful hosts

Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful property. Our week stay was amazing, the kids loved swimming everyday, the dogs loved free range exploring and we loved taking in the serenity, peace and sounds of nature. Cannot wait for our next visit in June.

Such a lovely campsite.. very generous sites! Do yourself a favour and go for a walk around the property to visit the horses first thing in the morning.. everything is so peaceful, all you can hear is the sound of birds. Kerryn was great, excellent with communication 😀

Beautiful private spot by the King River, unfortunately for us the weather was way to hot and we had to cut our stay short, will definitely stay again during the cooler months. The host Kerryn was wonderful very pleasant to deal with & super responsive with any questions. Highly recommend

Return visit and wont be our last!

This site is private, packed full of bird life (king fishers galore!), and has a nice sandy shore for swimming! Its furthest away from the other sites and has TONS of room! We had 3 vans and 4 cars, and could have had many more with room to spare. If the fallen trees were cleared out of the river this spot would be first class, but even with them in, we absolutely loved our time here. Who doesnt love seclusion but only 3 mins from town? Great local attractions, amenities, and conveniences but also with the amazing natural beauty of this pristine property. Kerryn's spot is top notch and this is our 2nd visit but it wont be our last! If you're really lucky, kerryns daughter Chloe and her partner will be training their horses while you're there, cos by god can they ride! Worth watching!!

What an amazing spot - I will definitely be back. I stayed two nights at Secret Island. Easy setup with lots of flat ground. The track there did have a few lumps and bumps but was fine in a small SUV. River access was easy. As stated in the info it is a bit muddy at the edges but lovely once you're in (watch out for snags though).

Beautiful White Cedar

Great spot right next to the King River. Beautifully shaded under the picturesque white cedar tree. Heaps of space for many vans and the nearest other campers are out of sight. Kerryn and John are fantastic hosts and could not do enough to ensure our stay was perfect. Plus everything in the areas is so close especially Wangaratta.

We had a great time on this awesome site. Very secluded down the back of a wonderful property with so much space but also very close to town with everything you need. Hosts are fantastic, communicate really well and sort out any problems straight away. An added bonus was access to their town water to top up tanks to prolong your stay. Can’t rate this place highly enough. Thanks for a great weekend away.

Riverview Camp -no swimming hole

We stayed for 3 nights on the king river site with our van and our 2 golden retrievers the site was very private and large ,the bush setting was beautiful, on arrival we were greeted by the hosts and shown to our site they are loveley ,camp is 3 min out of wangaratta ,would highly reccomend .

Now this is what I call a Hipcamp! The campsite is located down a long road past the house, with horses, sheep and chooks in the paddocks along the way. We were completely secluded in our own huge area — dogs could run off-leash, and no other campers could be seen or heard. There was ample shade or sunshine, depending on your preference. It’s a quiet, idyllic spot right next to the creek. The fireplace and firewood were all set up and ready to use, there’s a mains water tap to top up your supply, and it’s close to town for groceries, with Optus phone service if you need to work online. My only regret is that we could stay just one night. We will absolutely be back. Thank you!

This was our 2nd time spending a relaxing time at the King River Site at Billabong Flats. Kerryn and John are wonderful people and great hosts, always very welcoming and helpful. It's starting to become our go to get away from a long weekend. Great property, wonderful host and sites are spot on for that relaxing getaway.

Great set up, four spots to choose from all have their Plus side. Hosts great have prepared all the areas well. Fishing is good, caught many cod all undersize and released but good fun. Town not far but away from lights and noise.
