Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Merv's land is in a beautiful location up high in the hills. My campsite was private and I saw kangaroos and bunnies hopping by, and pretty birds as well as farm animals. The road up there is mostly unsealed but it was easily doable in my camper van especially as I went in dry weather. The toilets were a bit far away from my unpowered site for a 60 yo lady nighttime visit because I was afraid I'd trip, but I had my own anyway. The shower and toilet facilities were very clean and attractive being uniquely designed from recycled building materials. A lovely place for my overnight stay.

This place is incredible. Beautiful, peaceful, and the cows are so friendly, they come right up to the kids. Sarah was so welcoming and helpful. The water is nice and the sunset on top of the hill is beautiful. I will be going back for sure. Next time I will be staying more than one night.

Our first time visiting but we will definitely be back! The spot was amazing. The camp areas were beautiful and well set up with careful thought into many details. Adrian and his family were so welcoming and friendly. So many fun spots to explore on the grounds. We had such a great time and can’t wait to be back!

Weekend Trip to Fernlee Station

Absolutely incredible off-grid spot. The host is exceptionally friendly, and we even had a few horse and cow visitors wander by, which made the stay feel extra special. The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and far removed from the usual hustle and bustle. A truly stunning place to switch off and unwind — you won’t be disappointed.

they are definitely not kidding about the road in but worth every second of the drive. Amazing views and swimming, flat cleared camping areas with plenty of firewood, plenty of wildlife. a few nice touches with the solar lights, fire pits and even rakes and shovels provided around the area. Adrian was a great bloke to meet for a chat. Will definitely be back 10/10.

Beautiful drive in from Tenterfield, designated camping areas well spaced, with ample grazed grass to set up adjacent the river. Three private shower, toilet & handbasin rooms with hot water available and very functional. Bagged fire wood was easily accessible from an old horse float. The valley is very picturesque and the varied birdlife associated with the river, ever changing. Watched a large goanna cruise past our site across the river. If the weather is hot, bring some shade set up, as tree shade not available until midday on. Being a working cattle property, bring a long handle shovel, as your preferred set up site may need a five minute clean up. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short, due to the recent weather events & needing to return home to deal with clean up activities (chainsaw work). Would look to return at a future time.

1 night at Kai Iwi Estate

Scenic camp site with nice, clean facilities for all your needs. We were just stopping over for the night camping beside our vehicle. Hosts helped us out massively in a pinch as a storm rolled through and went out of their way to allow us to camp under the shed. Can't thank them enough and will definitely be recommending Kai Iwi Estate in future.

We absolutely loved our 3 nights at Camp Cangai! Directions were spot on & very easy access for our 20’ van. We camped right on the river & the water was perfect for swimming every day. The site has plenty of room for groups (Mick said there was a group of 25 following us) but we had the place to ourselves. A nice, clean drop toilet is provided & has fantastic views! We also ordered firewood from Mick & he provided heaps! We took a drive over the bridge one day & ended up doing a big loop back to camp - really nice scenery. If you’re in the mood, it’s only 18kms to the Mann River cafe for a burger for lunch. They also sell fuel, alcohol, food & drinks. All in all, a spectacular way to spend time chilling out & totally relaxing. We sure did!

Weekend Trip to Binghi Station

We were lucky enough to arrive just after some pretty severe storms went through & were the only ones there. We had the entire 4,000 acres to ourselves! We took our electric mountain bikes & loved riding or walking to Sandy Falls, or even Secret Gorge, which was a little more challenging. Jump’n Rock is about 1/2 an hour by 4WD & absolutely worth the effort. All three sites are absolutely spectacular! Plenty of good camp sites at Shearing Shed Campground but as Adrian says, be prepared as none of them are level. We were OK as we have airbag suspension. Adrian, Oratai & their 5 year old twins were perfect hosts & couldn’t do enough for us. Such a lovely family, they deserve to do well. Worth mentioning the track in. Adrian is careful to state that the track is 4WD only & be aware that whatever you are towing needs plenty of ground clearance also. We have a Ford Ranger & towed a 20’ extreme off road van. The track is very well compacted, so we were never going to get bogged but some of the hills were quite rutted & rocky & we had our hearts in our mouths on the way out, with all 4 wheels spinning! Adrian tells me he has a D6 bulldozer booked in the next month or so, so that should make a huge difference. All in all, we just loved our experience at Binghi Station. Highly recommended!

2 nights at Kai Iwi Estate

This Hipcamp honestly took our breath away. The view alone is incredible, and the beautiful white flowers around the property made the whole place feel extra special the moment we arrived. It was really easy to find and access, and the location itself was peaceful and quiet — exactly what we were hoping for. When we pulled in, we saw a little kid feeding the horses and it was honestly the cutest, most wholesome welcome ever. The horses were gorgeous, and the amenities were spotless. The hot shower was perfect, and having a laundry available felt like such a luxury while camping. Our dog had the best time exploring the space, and we’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm, scenic getaway. Would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful property and campground. Stayed in Site 1 which is a good size for a big rig, had no problem with our 10 metre van. Right on the river. Susannah was very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

This is the place to go to if you are look for quiet (and open) camping with amazing swimming holes! The hosts are extremely welcoming! We will definitely be making a return to binghi station
