Weekend Trip to Ingenia Holidays Merry Beach

We had a lovely time at Merry Beach Caravan Park. There was a beautiful electric fire (as well as an air conditioner) so we were warm and comfortable, even in the winter weather. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The location was beautiful - we enjoyed walking the beach and had a delicious dinner at a local restaurant ‘Merry St’.

I loved the thoughtful approach to amenities. The well equipped camp kitchen has a deck where you can sit and watch the ocean. The location is perfect, right on the most beautiful beach with walks in the national park and 5 minute walk through the bush to hood coffee. Heartily recommend

Weekend Trip to Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping

Clean campsite with lots of space. Site is generally on a slope, easily fixed though with RTT, just leveled the car with some rocks lying about. Heaps of firewood about, and a big firepit area. Table and chairs were handy. Great location overall, easy to get into Berrima 25mins. Beautiful Bush walk half way up to the toilet and off to the right. Some good tracks to choose from. We had perfect winter weather, sunny days and cold clear nights. Would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Glamping Around An Ancient Tree

A beautiful campsite! Quiet, peaceful and so picturesque. Easy to access, via sealed roads through farmlands (go slow, watch out for wildlife and livestock). Space to park the car/s and unload, near the site. Big, old tree a majestic feature. Lots of birds, saw wallabies and a wombat! Amenity outbuilding very appreciated, running water, super hot shower and composting toilet makes for a comfy stay. We pitched our own tent, so did not sleep in the “Snug Onion”, but it looked well set up and would be a great option if you did not BYO tent. We hope to go back soon. Thank you Angie!

4 nights at Surfside Cudmirrah Beach

I loved teardrop camping at Surfside Cudmirrah Beach. The facility was very well maintained. The showers had strong water pressure and hot water. The toilets were clean. The powered site P5 was nice and spacious. The beach is stunning and pretty much secluded this time if year. I do wish I could bring my own firepit and not pay $10 a night, that said, not a deal-breaker. Would easily return annually.

Weekend Trip to Sutton Farm Equestrian Centre

What a lovely place to spend a few days. Fantastic to be surrounded by paddocks with horses and to watch riders training in the horse jumping arena. Highly recommended. Great hosts - lovely to chat to them

We had such a beautiful time here! Everything about this place felt so peaceful - the scenic drive in, the glowing ancient tree at sunset, the tent and a cosy little fire-pit. Such a bonus having a nice clean shower and toilet too. Would highly recommend!

Such a great spot near a great little village. Angie's spot is really private but only a short 5min drive to Kangaroo Valley Village where there is lots to do. A great glamping weekend!

Weekend Trip to Grady's Riverside Retreat

Spacious sites in front of the river! Really accommodating with bins by every site which made it easy to clean up. Only down fall was our neighbour who had the generator out outside of the allocated hours, but we’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping

Each spot on the property is secluded and unique, giving you plenty of space and privacy during your stay. The toilet and shower are a great addition to the property recently, but we only stayed two nights, in winter, so didn’t test out the cold shower this time. Provided fire pits were handy and they helped keep the chill at bay, with plenty of wood around the property. Stunning views of the gorge and a few small trails to walk through parts of the property. Located near a few wineries and Joadja Distillery and Historic Village, which is definitely worth a visit, as well as historic Berrima and other local towns in the Highlands. Only suggestion is to remember to check the forecast as we had looked for temp and rain before arriving, but hadn’t factored in the reasonably strong winds. Didn’t ruin our trip, but could have been too much for some. This is obviously a location tip and in no way something that Leanne can control. Just good to be prepared.

We had a lovely stay at the Wali Gnana site for 2 nights. The site was tucked around the corner with plenty of bush to make it feel private. Plenty of wood to collect in the area + a wood pile to make a good fire. Leanna kindly let me use the wheelbarrow to collect which made it a lot easier. Highly recommend walking down to the gorge lookouts early morning (and day) which is an easy stroll with a little down hill (and back up). The fog fully fills the gorge in the morning and was incredible to stand and listen to the birds and running water. There is also a walk through yeh gate at the site into the bush which can go down to the gorge I believe. May be wrong about that but we just walked the flat section which was great. It’s a very peaceful and quiet place with lots of nature to listen to and stars to see. Will be back for sure.

Really nice spot away from everything, but also close to so many things. So handy having the T shed there and having toilets and showers. Communication was great and the hosts lovely. We will definitely try and stay again in the future!

A secluded little historic village in a peaceful valley. Half hour drive to the start of Pigeonhouse Mountain walk. The restored cottages are so charming, we were comfortable and cosy in ours, loved all the timber and features. Host took extra care to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended.

'Elouera Vale' Farm

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. Bebrue was created in 1972 when 8¼ acres of natural bushland on the top of Mount Gibraltar (“The Gib”) at Mittagong was donated to the Girl Guides Association for the establishment of a camping and outdoors facility.Today, the site offers a well-protected camping facility set amongst beautiful, natural surrounds that are ideal for many activities. The adjacent north-east side of Mount Gibraltar offers walking trails to explore.The Mount Gibraltar Forest is significant due to its rarity, being identified as an endangered and threatened ecological community. The unique geology of the area supports a collection of flora that, as an assemblage, does not exist outside of The Gib. One very important resident of The Gib that you may meet is the extremely rare Powerful Owl. Bebrue is one of the largest privately own properties on The Gib and Girl Guides have always worked hard to protect the natural bush at Bebrue. Bebrue has also been recognised by the Mount Gibraltar Landcare and Bushcare Group as being an important local wildlife corridor.
