A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, can accommodate up to 15 at one site and 12 at the other, camping and fires are only allowed in designated areas, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, at both sites you cannot have fires or camp in fenced off river frontage, you will have to provide your own camp toilet, shower, etc and take all waste away when you leave, I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

Weekend Trip to Kangarutha Farm

We camped down by the dam. The spot was absolutely stunning. We took inflatable toys, and swam in the dam all day long with the dogs. It really was a prefect stay. The toilet and shower were nearby and were in fairly good condition. We took a little longer packing up past our check out time, and Tom was extremely understanding and friendly about it. Would highly recommend!

My mum and I stayed in one of the glamping So Good over the weekend while we visited friends in Pambula, and had the best time! The property is absolutely gorgeous, Bec & Stu are so much fun, and the facilities they’ve built are just magical. 100% recommend.

3 nights at Kangarutha Farm

Absolutely beautiful farm and camp site! The Camp by the Dam site was private, peaceful, scenic and sheltered from the wind, with views over the dam. We experienced a lot of wildlife (wallabies, kangaroos, lizards, frogs, horses and heaps bird life). We spotted kookaburras, nectar eaters and two different kinds of Kingfisher birds (if you enjoy birdwatching, I recommend taking binoculars!). It was the perfect spot for our dog to be primarily off lead and she absolutely loved it, with plenty of space to run and play. We had the entire farm to ourselves for our three night stay, and even if other campers had been on site, it still would have been very private. Waking up to bird song was absolutely delightful. The kitchen, toilet and shower facilities were great to have access to, within a short distance walk. The kitchen has a small fridge, microwave and washing up facilities, dining table, air conditioning and power points to recharge our power bank for our phones. There were plenty of communal areas which would be perfect for group events (large outdoor dining area/table and chairs, fire pit, beautifully landscaped spaces, events building with large kitchen, dining and lounge area). There were recycling and general rubbish bins, and toilet paper was provided. We ordered a wheelbarrow of wood for our three night stay which was more than enough for our time there and was ready on site for our arrival. We can't wait to book our next visit! Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Kiah Wilderness Camp

We absolutely loved camping with Jenny and Arthur. Arthur met us on the highway and escorted us to our site. The site was huge and level with mown green grass. For a small additional price, you can access potable water and power, which we did not need on our weekend trip, but is great for those planning a longer stay. The river ran up to the site. Unfortunately, the weather was too cold for swimming, but the water looked inviting. The toilet was a long drop, but it was immaculate, with tap water for washing your hands. The wildlife was diverse, and spotting the different birds and animals was a fun activity. I would thoroughly recommend Kiah Wilderness Camp.

This is a fantastic camp, we would return anytime! Kangarutha is a very charming property and the bush campsites are large and set in amongst beautiful large gum trees. 4 nights at Fresh Water Farm _ River Camp.

We stayed for 5 glorious nights in November as the end cap of our East Coast Victoria journey, and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful place than this spot in Kiah, near Eden. If you love privacy and wildlife, this is your heaven. The large, beautiful open grass area was perfect for camping, and with only one other camper visible the whole time, it felt like we had the entire riverbank to ourselves—truly a no shoes needed kind of freedom! The wildlife here is spectacular. We saw deer, majestic eagles, and, of course, the charming wombats doing their nightly rounds, alongside the resident farm cows and chickens. Our dog absolutely adored the safety and freedom this special river spot offered, making it a perfect pet-friendly escape. The fishing is genuinely amazing, but we won't give away all the secrets—you'll have to book and find out for yourself! This is a rare, peaceful find for anyone looking to completely disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. Highly, highly recommend!

Our stay at Kiah Wilderness was wonderful - kids have rated it a 10/10 campsite and we agree! It was lovely swimming in the river and relaxing in Jenny and Arthur’s little slice of paradise. The compost toilet also deserves a mention, wish more campsites had one!

Fare exceeding expectations, this is the most wonderous stay. Waking up fog rolling over the mountains and a cow at your front door, it is an experience unlike any other. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely stunning. This place is a must do if in the area. Located close to Bega makes seeing the town very easy. We had the luck of being the only ones here during our 3 nights and would happily have stayed longer. The camp is located all by itself on the property making it feel truly secluded, with an amazing outlook over the property. Thanks Norm & Narelle for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your backyard.
