We are not and never will be a 'caravan park' - your group will have exclusive use of the campsite. Each are far from each other, both are right near to - or very close to - the river. Our guests love the tranquility and not having to share!
Fish the river for flathead or bream and enjoy it for dinner by the campfire. Bring your kayak or SUP or just enjoy a swim in the clear sandy-bottom river.

Well behaved (spoilt) dogs okay but please no hunting type dogs. Both sites have access to separate taps for fresh drinking water.

We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower in a central location a short walk from the campsites. We have a small campers amenities room with a basic kitchen (i.e. a sink, power, kettle, small fridge, microwave) and dining table and chairs, which is a place to do your dishes or shelter in rainy weather. There are also other outdoor pavilions in the central areas on the property.
Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track.
Our property is dog friendly for well-behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs.
Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.
Kangarutha also has a country style cottage (with a tennis court!) available for holiday rental - maybe for the parents or friends who are not so into camping! We offer a sauna/sweat + cold plunge package (see 'extras' for booking), as well as a myriad of opportunities, all at your own pace such as ~ wildlife watching, stargazing, bushwalking/hiking, trail running, rock hopping, nature photography/journalling, swimming in the waterholes or just sitting around your campfire, relaxing and unwinding.
In addition, we can provide a brunch food hamper, made from local ingredients where possible, from the beautiful Bega Valley! Gluten free options catered for (see 'extras').
Campsites are limited and exclusive, either camping with your own tent plus tree hammock provided, or book our three person tree tent. We also have a tent site. Parking is allocated on-site, with a short 300m walk to your campsite, so hiking gear is recommended. Please let your host know if you have a 2WD or 4WD car.

1000 acres of bushland, private campsite only 3km from the Snowy Mountains Highway.
Good mobile coverage.
Lots of wildlife.
Campfires permitted.
Potable water available.
No toilet or amenities.
4WD is best but not absolutely necessary, a small low clearance car won't be suitable.
Pets allowed but be aware it is a running cattle farm and it's expected that you know your pets whereabouts at all times.
At 1200 metres elevation it is often colder than the surrounding areas and sometimes very foggy.
A second site is available near our house at the "hayshed".
Let's say you're travelling between Bega and Cooma or Bombala, it's getting late and you need a spot to spend the night which is safe and you can plug into power. Next morning buy some fresh eggs, have breakfast, check your vehicle over, top up a bit of water and back to the main highway in a few minutes.

What a beautifully maintained property. The lush green grass, wide open space, and abundance of wildlife made it such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, the dogs had a ball. We absolutely loved our time at Arthur and Jenny’s property.

I loved my night camping at Bottom Paddock beside the Murrah River. A beautiful setting isolated from busy roads. My little Honda Jazz managed to traverse the track to Bottom Paddock without difficulty. Christopher and Ren answered my msgs quickly, were very helpful and welcoming when I arrived. Christopher insisted on chopping wood and getting a fire going for me to add to the ambience. The compost loo is quirky and easy to use. I had a dip in the river early the next morning. A wonderful place to stay.

Serene. Amazing spot, clean and tidy - can tell the hosts put effort into making this space magical for all who come to enjoy it.
Kylie & Sandy are super friendly, nice, and accomodating - even leaving out kayaks for campers to use.

A great site, private, grassy and flat with a fire pit already stocked. Easy access to the river for swimming. Easy reach to Eden and beyond so it makes a great touring base. Very welcoming hosts, met us at the entrance to the property and guided us directly to the site. Recommended.

Amazing place! It was perfect in every way for a total glamping experience (outdoor bath elevated the site to this level!). Norm was a great host. Being a dairy farm, there are a lot of flies - nature in action! We will definitely be back!

Congratulations to Norm and narelle. This place is amazing! The landscape is so beautiful it take your breath away. We sat for a long periods just taking in the scenery and the tranquility. It is so peaceful, with just the sounds of birds, and distant mooing of the cows. The facilities are fantastic - so much more than even a premium camping site. We spent 5 nights here and will definitely come back.

Really nice spot kept beautifully. Felt like we were camped on a nice lawn not a paddock. Easy access to river which kids loved. Host was nice and helpful. Only unfortunate thing for us was, I’m assuming due to the massive rains the week before we arrived. The mosquitoes were insane at times. Other than that would definitely visit again.

We had a great time at Kiah Wilderness camp! The campsite was super spacious, and full of wildlife. Our kids had a great time spotting lots of animals around the site, and the river was the highlight. We used our inflatable boat to get across to the sandy bank and spent hours playing in the water and exploring the river bank. We had quite a few mozzies, but think that was more due to recent rain. A great campsite if you want large and private, great for groups. Thanks Jenny and Arthur!

Loved our stay here! Super easy to find, gorgeous property with great campsites and nice clean toilet and other facilities. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Our campsite had a little creek beside it, plus we woke up to cows and baby calves in the paddock. Such a beautiful, relaxing spot, highly recommend!

The campsite was absolutely stunning! I expected to arrive at a paddock and instead we were met by a beautifully maintained environment with multiple amenities and a gorgeous backdrop! Tom made the effort to come and find us to greet us with a map and he was quick to respond when I needed to adjust my booking via text.
