Great property for couples, families or larger groups. Each site individual to the group. Sally and Brian invite you to enjoy camping on their beautiful property. Surrounded by Yengo National Park and Crown land, Earthways is 134 ha (330 acre) property near Wollombi in a secluded part of the Wollombi Valley. Come and enjoy the noises of the bush and the clear night skies with no human neighbors close. No mobile reception. (Phone and wifi for emergencies at our house.) We (Brian and Sally) have been re-vegetating the land and living here sustainably being “Off Grid” for over 40years, surrounded by bush with 3km of Stockyard creek meandering through the valley. Creek is not flowing at the moment. We would love to share this paradise with those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Dogs welcome but kept on a lead. No leeches and No ticks in this area. NO close neighbors. Perfect spot to pitch your tent or set up your camper in the valley. Lots of sunshine and lots of shade. Easy dirt road access (5km) Some sites require/recommend 4WD -some 2WD is fine. Check each site separately. Come and take advantage of the Wollombi Valley's beautiful scenery and atmosphere. Sit and relax or get adventurous and explore the area. The historic village of Wollombi is only 25 minutes away, and has cafes, shop, museum and the Wollombi Tavern. The popular Broke and Pokolbin wine regions are a short 25-40 minute drive away in the opposite direction. Yengo National Park has some wonderful look out spots-great to drive to Finchley lookout to watch the sun set or check out Aboriginal art sites. You may see wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goanna's, kookaburras, lyre birds black cockatoos and so many other native birds/creatures. Stunning rock features, caves, diverse ecosystems with abundant native fauna and flora. We are situated in a valley. Each of our separate camp sites are for your own private space.

GREENWAY Wines by the Brook

2 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · NSW
Surrounded by the foothills of the Hunter Valley Brokenback ranges, and bordered by the banks of Wollombi Brook, this is a picturesque camping site. We've proudly been involved with this parcel of land that sits firmly in Wonnarua Country for the last 15 years, nurturing its vineyard to support a fully functioning cellar door.  When we came to own the land the vast paddock was already in place,  as was Dragonfly Dam, and a red tin shed that remotely resembles the 'red barn' cellar door we have today.   The earliest vine plantings here were in the mid 80's and then in the late 90's Andrew Margan planted the body of the vineyard, since that time we have grafted and planted in alternative grape varieties and now produce a signature range of elegant wines that truly represent the unique terrior that is Greenway Wines.  The surrounding foothills contain many caves giving them character, there is still much debate among those who live around us fondly called the folk from 'beyond the bends (of Broke) as to whether we look directly at either 'Bear Rock' or 'Wombat Mountain', and we look forward to your thoughts on this debate.

Callicoma Hill: off grid surrounded by nature, Hunter Valley

4 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents300 acres · Carrowbrook, NSW
Callicoma Hill offers bush camping for groups in a forest clearing, an off-grid 10 bed rustic bunkhouse and an off-grid self-contained 3 bedroom eco-cabin in the forested mountains at Mount Royal, on the edge of the Barrington wilderness in the Hunter Valley of NSW. We also occasionally offer a camping site in our front paddock with a spectacular 80km view over the Hunter Valley. It is an ideal off-grid bush getaway for families and groups, offering peace and quiet, a mountainside of forest, enviable views and sunsets across the Hunter Valley and fresh mountain air. Most importantly, guests have exclusive use of our property in each area, so you don't have to share with other visitors. We are near Mount Royal National Park, adjoining the Barrington Tops wilderness area. The area is part of the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest Reserves, a place of great scenic beauty and natural diversity. Best of all, it is quiet and away from the crowds. Whether you want an easy walk in nature and peace, an adventurous climb to see a breathtaking view, or are in training for an epic multi-day walk, Mount Royal National Park provides excellent bushwalking opportunities. Or, you can simply stay at camp and sit and relax!
