This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. 7 nights at Burraburoon Farmstay

What a fantastic place to stay! We camped with the van for a week and it was perfect. The camp kitchen has all you could need and is neat and clean. The toilet and shower blocks are also very clean. There was plenty of wildlife, emus, eagles, kangaroos and goannas. The kayaks and private lake was perfect for the hot summer days. Fire pits available for the cooler nights. Hosts Tertia and Ken lovely and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this camp to everyone!

Campsite with old man weed covering the ground. Smells amazing but can make you sneeze (in a satisfying way) if you sniff too close.

Weekend Trip to Sandalwoods by the lagoon

Great private, quiet and a real Aussie bush setting. Sadly no water in the lagoon, that did not stop the wildlife from visiting. Many species of birds to photograph, along with Roos. Great spot to get away from it all.

Weekend Trip to Radcliffe in Echuca

We loved how small and private this campsite was, and being so close to Echuca made it super convenient. We had the whole site to ourselves which was excellent and made for a really peaceful stay. There was lots of wildlife and birds around us, and we enjoyed using the great communal firepit in the evenings. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. It is a little on the pricier side for a small campsite with no toilets, but overall we really enjoyed the experience.

We loved this site. It was remote, has a great fire pit and lovely red dirt. The hosts were really easy to communicate with and the site was easy to find. We like being away from it all so this was great for us. The stars at night time were brilliant as was the drive in with so many emus (with babies) to spot. We loved our night here.

This was a beautiful setting in a lovely garden. Nice big flat areas. Plenty of shade from smaller trees , lovely small dams on the property,and a pool that they kindly share with campers ! quaint gardens and the nicest couple that own it. !! Absolutely recommend this hip camp. We will definitely return

The most notable feature of this location is its remote setting and the exceptional host. The host is exceptionally friendly and provides essential amenities such as bins for rubbish, a well-equipped toilet and shower and a swimming pool. The property is situated in a remote area. For water sports enthusiasts, Murray is directly in front of the property. We particularly enjoyed using the board ramp for kayaking. This is a must-visit Hipcamp location for those in Torromberry.

We had such a wonderful camping experience! We were lucky to have the whole campsite all to ourselves — peaceful and relaxing. The place was clean and well-maintained. Despite the rainy weather, the beautiful river view and the overall experience made it all worth it. We didn’t mind the boats passing by — it actually added a nice touch to the scenery. The river was warm and perfect for swimming, and the kids had so much fun! Definitely a memorable trip and a spot we’d love to visit again.

Weekend Trip to Sandalwoods by the lagoon

We had a great experience being immersed in remote nature. The campsite was very private and secluded. It was so hot during our visit and the lagoon was dry. It would have been a lot better if the lagoon was full. But we enjoyed our stay. We picked some fresh oranges which is a bonus. The host was lovely, easy to communicate to and very friendly. Thank you for a genuine bush camping experience!

Absolutely beautiful. We loved our stay by the river. Such a beautiful property and great sized campsites. Extremely clean, toilets available and perfectly quiet. We would highly recommend but don’t want to give away this little gem!
