From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We loved this site. It was remote, has a great fire pit and lovely red dirt. The hosts were really easy to communicate with and the site was easy to find. We like being away from it all so this was great for us. The stars at night time were brilliant as was the drive in with so many emus (with babies) to spot. We loved our night here.

Could I recommend this place? YES. Can I truly put into words how good it is? Probably not… but I’ll try. The family is so passionate about what they do. The care, love, and knowledge they have for their animals is incredible – especially seeing the kids so involved in running the place. The spacing between the sites is great, and the areas are nice and flat too, which made setting up super easy. As an avid photographer, I actually didn’t take many photos because I was so immersed in the experience and in their stories. Getting to handle the Highland cows was something I’ll never forget. An easy 5 stars from me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an amazing time! The campground is very spacious, and even though there weren’t many other campers during our stay, the area is so big that I’m sure it still feels comfortable when it’s busier. Julie was incredible — very welcoming. The facilities were spotless, with super clean bathrooms and hot showers for just $2. Highly recommend, and we’d definitely come back again! 🌿

Lovely grassed open area to camp next to the river. There were several toilets around the camp which were clean and practical to use. Julie managed to get us a drum and some firewood which worked really well on a chilly night.

Weekend Trip to Burraburoon Farmstay

Great farm stay at Burraburoon! The facilities were spotless with everything you could ever think to need. We enjoyed the walking tracks, wildlife spotting and stargazing. Magic spot.

Julie was the perfect host, the land itself was expansive and lovely to feel like we're not camping on top of eachother. The toilet is always clean and not smelly, the hot shower is an added bonus whilst camping offgrid. Would highly recommend coming to stay and would come back another time :) Thanks Julie

Great directions and a very easy check in. The most difficult part was deciding where to set up. There is a huge amount of space to spread out. The dogs loved it. One of the better Hipcamp sites we have been too. Well kept grounds, multiple toilets that are very clean and Julie was lovely. It is approx. 20 mins to Echuca for supplies and cafes but there is also a BP servo 5 mins away for any emergancy supplies.
