Really fantastic weekend here celebrating a 30th birthday, great space for anyone looking to get out of the city for a bit. Great fireplace to keep warm next to if it rains and covered shelter, big bbq and pizza oven! Watch the speed racing on the river and relax. Megan's a helpful, great host, highly recommended!

Fantastic long weekend! Celebrated my 30th with friends here and genuinely couldn’t have been better. Friday evening home made pizzas, Saturday morning a quick trip to the local outdoor gokarting track then back for a game of cricket on one of Megans fields (very generous). Fishing throughout the weekend with some swimming in the river. In the evening we had a great bbq and played some games. The river shack is a lifesaver from both sun and rain and even more spacious than it appears on photos. Megan was a fantastic host. She offered to mow a wicket for our cricket game! She was very relaxed and let us get on with things and certainly created an environment to really enjoy ourselves. Would recommend to everyone.

Beautiful location so close to Sydney. Easy to find with good clear directions. Hosts were very accomodating. Despite the rain we had a wonderful relaxing break under the covered entertaining space. Would totally recommend and planning next trip

Beautiful location right on the river. Stayed 2 nights here whilst checking out the blue mountains. Megan and Trevor both great hosts. You have the whole site to yourself so it’s private and peaceful. There’s also great additions like large undercover structure, fireplace, hot shower and toilet. I highly recommend for anyone from camping to caravaners.

I loved staying here. Relaxing being near the water which was easy to access. Flushing toilet, hot shower and an extra bonus of an undercover area with seating. Even had entertainment of watching the jet skies. Hosts are welcoming and lovely to chat with. I highly recommend staying, I could easily have stayed longer.

The End of the Road is a super-nice spot. Located near Balmoral in the Southern Highlands area of NSW, surrounded by bush with a level, large camp site. Easy access and lots of space. Peaceful and relaxing. Telstra comms good if required. Lots of generously provided firewood and containerised water. The hosts even kindly provided us with fresh eggs - just right for breakfast, thank you Steve and Cathy. Plenty of trails to hike and explore. This a real gem of a spot and well worth camping at. Be self-sufficient with water, food and toilet. Nothing must be left on site. We really enjoyed the solitude and relaxation at this site, whilst being only a couple of hours from Sydney and intend to return in the not too distant future. We highly recommend for well-equipped campers.

The facilities at Byron were well kept and spread throughout the camp so it didnt matter where you were there was a facility near you. I felt that the camo attracted a range of campers and the facilities catered for everobe. There were plenty if trees also for shade. The camp kitchens had awesome large fridges which were utilised by alot of campers and were a great meeting hub.

A beautiful little hideaway. 11mins to a tasty chinese takeaway (if you forgot to bring dinner). Host gave us fresh eggs for breaky. A great stay and looking forward to the hut being completed, will be an awesome little get away. The doggos had a great time, and did the walk down to the creek.

Our river access is normally shallow, well suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a quiet refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with varying distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. (Saturday night 2 night minimum) Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, please check with Hosts prior to booking, as conditions and a charge applies. Please ADD EXTRA at checkout for dogs... $20 per dog per visit There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are looking forward to welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers. 2. If you have other campers coming make sure you book on the one booking otherwise you will not be placed together. Our property is nestled in 2000 acres of totally private wilderness in the centre of the lush valley in the heart of the Blue Mountains. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property. ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding. ICE: Bring your own ice WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation. FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley SHADE: Plenty of shady areas WATER: We are on town water TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 2 in the Lodge. plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly. THINGS TO DO: SCENIC RAILWAY 25 Klms away at Katoomba and 40 minutes travel time BIKE and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it You are reminded to allow enough time to arrive for this property.prior to dark, which is 5.0 in winter. It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers. We are requiring ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers Please indicate the details of cars such as make, model , colour and rego number prior to arrival. We must also remind campers that this is not a venue for noisy partying as we are a quiet wilderness environmental zone. We do not tolerate it and will remove offenders. NSW Ski Gardens is situated on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Wisemans Ferry. Every October - April is our peak time and its busy! Please be aware there is river noise during our busy times on weekends so may not suit those looking for tranquillity on weekends. During the week it's fine but weekends are busy and a bit noisy. We are 1.2 km from the township along the River Road. There are powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers set in a rustic location. Amenities include hot showers, laundry, on-site kiosk and boat ramp (fee applicable). BBQ and covered picnic area. Dogs are welcome on leash. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.
