100 acres of secluded paradise with a kilometer of free flowing pebbled creek. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife.
Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks.
If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider.
We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available.
Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers.

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Welcome to this remote piece of paradise! Rhapsody is located in Gingkin,, which is not far from Oberon NSW, about 3 hours west of Sydney.
Campsites are hidden in a remote valley direct frontage to the pristine Hollanders River, adjoining the Kanangra-Boyd National Park. There are two private campsites on grassy river flats surrounded by eucalyptus forest. The sites are very secluded so you will see lots of wildlife and you're guaranteed not to see any other people! Only one group can stay at each campsite and campsites are on different parts of the river so privacy is guaranteed.
In dry conditions 2WD is fine for Wallaby flat but in wet weather, 4WD is required. Platypus flat is 4wd only. You can always park at the top of the hill and walk down first if you're not sure.
Dog friendly. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. Gather your own wood from fallen timber on the way in or BYO wood. Not much firewood available on site. Both campsites can get quite cool as they are low in the valley.
This is a wild and remote area. Guided remote bushwalks also available for those who are fit and adventurous.
Both campsites have a pit toilets, cold shower, spring water on tap, picnic tables.. Water is sourced from a distant spring in the mountain and is gravity fed to the site by above ground pipe which heats the water during the day.
There is a small area where you can get Telstra mobile reception at the cattle grid on the way into the property, but very limited mobile reception in this area. If you are on Optus or other networks you won't get any reception. There is no mobile reception at camp - perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with nature!

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.
Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests.

We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!
We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water.
You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife.
Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks.
If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider.
We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available.
Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers.

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Welcome to this remote piece of paradise! Rhapsody is located in Gingkin,, which is not far from Oberon NSW, about 3 hours west of Sydney.
Campsites are hidden in a remote valley direct frontage to the pristine Hollanders River, adjoining the Kanangra-Boyd National Park. There are two private campsites on grassy river flats surrounded by eucalyptus forest. The sites are very secluded so you will see lots of wildlife and you're guaranteed not to see any other people! Only one group can stay at each campsite and campsites are on different parts of the river so privacy is guaranteed.
In dry conditions 2WD is fine for Wallaby flat but in wet weather, 4WD is required. Platypus flat is 4wd only. You can always park at the top of the hill and walk down first if you're not sure.
Dog friendly. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. Gather your own wood from fallen timber on the way in or BYO wood. Not much firewood available on site. Both campsites can get quite cool as they are low in the valley.
This is a wild and remote area. Guided remote bushwalks also available for those who are fit and adventurous.
Both campsites have a pit toilets, cold shower, spring water on tap, picnic tables.. Water is sourced from a distant spring in the mountain and is gravity fed to the site by above ground pipe which heats the water during the day.
There is a small area where you can get Telstra mobile reception at the cattle grid on the way into the property, but very limited mobile reception in this area. If you are on Optus or other networks you won't get any reception. There is no mobile reception at camp - perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with nature!

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.

We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!
We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water.
You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

We stayed at the Flash Camp over New Years. I was really impressed with the amenities, Bbq's & toiletries.
The whole site is very family & kid friendly. They put on an inflatable water slide for the kids in the afternoons, there's a park area with slack lines & a flying fox plus a soccer field.
The water was beautiful & peaceful, plenty of shallow areas for the kids & deeper parts for a swim.
I highly recommend Jilla, we'll be back!!

We stayed for two nights on our way back from central coast. It was so lovely, the river is accessible from the campground and there is heaps to do for kids. The owners have placed a flying fox, kids monkey bars, and a soccer pitch with goals. They also come in the afternoon and inflate the inflatable water slide for kids. There are toilets and sinks for washing up. They also accept dogs and allow fires. The glamping area is very cosy from what we could see ☺️ thank you for having us, we will be back for Australia Day long weekend for more adventures

Burra Burra Ridge was a beautiful spot to bring in the new year with friends. Saw constant eagles flying and the sunset was incredible. The peace and quiet was superb! Thankyou.

Stuart was very welcoming and helpful, he even started a fire for us when we arrived late. The site is quiet and remote, and the kids adored his lovely dog Rusty. Definitely recommend a 4WD for access 😅

Perfect location, loved staying on this property. We enjoyed daily swims in the river, the site was private and well maintained with camping neighbours nowhere near our site.
Vallance and his family were so very friendly and hospitable and we will come back many a time in the future.
Plenty of morning and afternoon shade at the site and because it's a new site there is a huge amount of firewood for campers to utilise.
Nothing negative to say.
Dream camping trip over new years, peaceful, with a mega bonfire put on for guests to celebrate the new year.
Park and trampoline were perfect for kids.

We absolutely loved our time at Jila Campground, so much so we extended our trip by double! There are so many great facilities that aren’t mentioned on hipcamp including high ropes for kids, a soccer field and a huge blow up water slide that get put up in the afternoons. The river is amazing. Very clean and super safe. Great for families. Our dogs loved running around off leash and making friends with the other campers. The campground is well space out so you’re not on top of anyone and you feel totally immersed in nature. Toilets and camp skinks are convenient and clean. One of the best hipcamps we’ve booked and we can’t wait to come back again soon!

Lovely quiet area to relax and sit back in nature and lsten to the bird, swim, read a book or catch up with friend and family. Plenty of space to spread out.
Nice swimming in the river that has different levels of depth which was so good.
Allowing pets was great my dog had a fantastic time in the river.
Jumping castle or soccer field for the kids and kayaks to use for gold coin donation was good.
But I am 63 years old and the bank down to the river is pretty steep. I wish the owner would build some steps in multiple places to get down to the river safely as this was a bit dangerous at times. I saw a few people slip and land awkwardly trying to climb over tree logs or walk on the sandy soil which just gave way. This was a pretty dangerous and they were alot younger than me..
Price was a bit high considering you take your own drinking water and are self sufficient .
Would I go again yes.
However hoping that there would be stairs down to the river or other wise I would have to go else where which would be a shame as I am a local and would spend more weekend even holiday weeks there.

We loved camping at Jila. It's a gorgeous spot that feels disconnected from the busy world but is in fact only 10 mins or so drive from major shops if you need supplies. The river is easy to access and shallow so perfect for our kids to swim and kayak. Phil and his brother set up a waterslide every afternoon for the kids to use and there is also a little ninja area that our kids loved. We will definitely be back!

Campsite 1, The Cattle Yards, was a little tricky to find at first — the Google Maps directions and listing description could definitely use some tidying up. But once we arrived, it was absolutely worth it! The campsite was very clean, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning views. We even had a few friendly visitors — some cows and two camels. One of them looked so sleepy that we ended up naming him Gerald, which gave us a good laugh every morning.
It does get very cold at night, so definitely pack plenty of blankets and layers. There’s little to no phone signal in the area, which turned out to be a bonus since it made for a perfect off-grid escape for a few days. Someone had accidentally taken our reserved spot, but we set up elsewhere without any issues, and no one seemed to mind.
Overall, it was a beautiful, quiet stay — a bit of an adventure getting there, but once you do, it’s a truly special place. Thank you for having us!

We camped here between Christmas and New Year's which is a very busy period so keep that in mind.
The river is nice and shallow with a slow current so the water is warm. There are birds and turtles around if you're patient to spot them. It's a beautiful spot and very serene. But not super refreshing.
Accessing the river is a bit steep and slippery in some places. Forget fishing though.
30% of the usable land is sloped so campers tend to set up towards the river where there is level ground.
We had multiple 4-5 neighbouring campers ranging within 10- 20 meters for the duration of our stay, though this didn't really affect our stay negatively besides a bit less privacy.
This camp ground is perfect for families of all sizes. Soccer field, tight ropes, shallow slow river, nightly blow up water slide, kids kayaks hire etc.
The downside to that is that everyone is asleep by 10pm and you find yourself whispering to not wake up others. If you're a night owl, it will be very quite and boring for you.
Most of the easily accessible firewood had been scavanged by the time we got there. A chainsaw and log splitter are almost a necessity but bringing your own firewood is easier.
The toilets were plumbed and flushing, there is running tap water and plenty of river water taps and sinks. The toilets did not have lights in them and the doors on some did not have locks.. as me and the poor Phillipino lady found when she opened the door on me mid wipe lol.. sorry lady.

Kenzell Farm is a beautiful and peaceful escape. We would highly recommend this Farm for an offgrid camping experience.
Being able to be hands on with the many animals around the paddocks was a highlight for our family.
