Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. We've spent a wonderful long weekend at Nos Astra with my wife and our 4 year old. Our son loved the trampoline, the small bush walks on the property and roasting marshmallows at the bonfire. I tracked down to Cox River crossing, following some paths leading out from the back of the property and through the woods. We spent the nights laying in the trampoline and gazing at the stars. The property offered great views, was nice and quite and we even encountered some kangaroos and huge monitor goanas on our walks.

Weekend Trip to Mellows Ridge
I stayed in the beautiful Bell Tent at Mellows Ridge and absolutely loved it. The setting is incredible, surrounded by tall trees, birdlife, rocky outcrops, and stunning views. It’s so peaceful, with plenty of wildlife around. I even spotted a diamond python and echidnas! The Bell Tent itself was spacious and luxurious, with lights, music, power, and a private toilet - everything you could need. Enjoying delicious wood-fired pizza and wine in the hot tub overlooking the valley was just perfect. My dog had the best time too and even made a new friend, Lana (Ian’s lovely dog), who took us on a tour to the waterfall! Sitting by the campfire listening to the birds was so relaxing. It feels wonderfully secluded yet it’s just a short drive from town. The customer service was exceptional - having a strong coffee delivered at 7am was amazing. I really didn’t have to bring a thing. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for peace, comfort, and a touch of luxury in nature.

Our family with young kids and small dogs loved our time there. The tents were nice and spacious, and we liked the provided linen. The toilets were modern and clean, and we enjoyed the large shared firepit in the middle. The highlight was spending the hot days down at the river - it had a lovely atmosphere and was shallow enough for the kids and dogs to wade through. It is a bit tricky to walk up and down the embankment, especially if you're carrying a toddler or baby. The road into the campground is a little rough for a sedan or typical car, but no issue for a SUV. Great option for a first-time family camping trip - we will be back!

It was so nice that the inside of the tent was spacious and clean, and the bathroom shower was also very clean for use as an outdoor bathroom and shower. Highly recommend silky oaks. I was in the retro Glamping and there was everything you needed. Bed, bbq, outdoor chairs, fridge, kettle, fan and heater if needed. Outdoor shower with hot water and toilet. Great location close to Sydney but still peaceful and private. Lots to do wander around the farm, feed the horses (bring carrots) or explore the area. Highly recommend. The camping site were great too by the look of it.

We had a wonderful stay at Jilla Flash Camp and highly recommend it. The tents were comfortable and clean, and although we initially thought there might be mould, Bill kindly reassured us they were just gumtree stains. We had originally booked two tents due to capacity, but Phil went out of his way to adjust our booking so the kids could stay together, which we really appreciated. The camp kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were cozy and restful. The highlights of our stay were spending time by the creek and gathering around the firepit—both made the experience truly memorable. Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay!

What an incredible escape! Aurora-Exclusive delivered everything we hoped for and more. Our host was genuinely welcoming and made the check-in process seamless - you can tell they truly care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. The privacy here is unmatched. It felt like having our own private slice of the Blue Mountains—no direct neighbours, no noise, just surrounded by stunning bushland and those breathtaking escarpment views. The hut is wonderful - thoughtfully designed and perfectly positioned to make the most of the scenery. It provided the perfect base for our adventure while still feeling connected to nature. The highlight of each evening was gathering around the campfire under the star-filled sky. There's something magical about sitting by the crackling flames with wombats and kangaroos wandering nearby - it's the kind of authentic Australian bush experience you dream about. It was amazing that we were allowed to bring our dog! It made this trip complete.

We offer self-contained accommodation for up to 8 guests in a beautifully appointed homestead with all modern conveniences. The house and the farm are yours during your stay. Towrang Farmstay is popular with regular visitors to Goulburn, Wakefield Park Raceway, and those seeking an authentic country holiday. The homestead at Towrang Farm Stay is an original shearer’s cottage, part of a larger landholding. Completely destroyed by fire the stone walls remained intact and the cottage was completely rebuilt recently to a luxurious country house. The farm itself today occupies 25 acres with stock paddocks, a lake, and gardens and is surrounded by a rolling countryside of sheep and cattle farms with majestic views towards the horizon. The cottage is accessed via a tree-lined driveway from Towrang Road which is fully sealed to the Hume Highway. The current owner has stocked the farm with ‘rescued’ animals which she has nursed back to health, including farm animals and retired racehorses. Her care for the animals has made them friendly to visitors who can interact and care for them during their stay, providing a complete farm life experience for all the family! Children and guests love petting or feeding the sheep, horses, geese, and chickens and doing some daily farm chores during their stay – including collecting the free-range eggs for breakfast locking up the chooks for the evening, and letting them out in the morning. The resident cat is also friendly to children. In season there is plenty of fresh fruit to be picked in the orchard and the dam is stocked with trout. (Fishing rods are supplied – catch your own dinner!) The homestead itself is spacious and equipped with all the conveniences for your stay. Three queen bedrooms cater for up to 6 guests, with a sofa lounge sleeping another two. A fully stocked pantry in the large country kitchen has basic provisions – all you need to bring is the food for your meals. There are lots of places in the garden and the wrap-around verandah to sit and relax plus a gas barbecue and table settings for al fresco meals. Awakened to the sound of bird calls. Experience native fauna – kangaroos and wombats often pass by!
