The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. River Front Campsites is a picturesque camping area on the eastern edge of the Barrington Tops National Park (Gloucester Tops) and nestled on the banks of the crystal clear Gloucester River. A great spot for families and groups of all ages who love wide open natural spaces. A place to relax and enjoy the amazing mountain scenery, fabulous sunsets and bird life local to the area, along with other wildlife that graze the land. If you want to indulge in the natural wonders of the area, there are numerous walking trails in the nearby Gloucester Tops National Park, swim in the crystal clear water of the Gloucester River. Do some Bird watching. We are an active beef cattle farm. We run approximately 80 head of cattle. You will see our herd of cattle across the paddocks, which includes pregnant cows, younger cows, calves, and Brutus our bull. We will endeavor to run our cattle outside of the paddocks containing the campsites. For this reason, we ONLY allow dogs to stay if they remain on a lead or are well controlled. There are 6 sites to choose from beside the flowing river to set up your campsite, with shady areas, spacious grassy areas for the kids to run around or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent). NO rubbish can be burnt in any campfires at all. Each Site will have a fire pit. BYO wood. These are sites only and NO toilet or shower facilities are provided, or freshwater. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET OR ONE IN YOUR CARAVAN/CAMPER. (There are dump points located in Gloucester and Stroud townships, both approximately 40 min away). Access to River Front Campsites is partially by 12kms of gravel council managed road with 6 water crossings. Campsites are easily accessible by 4WD and 2WD vehicles. The property borders the southern boundary of the Wallingat National Park - which offers days and days of adventures and has the best look-out over the whole coastal region called the Whoota Whoota lookout. Wallis Lake is literally across the road from the front gate and can be accessed by boat launch just up the Coomba road or at the Pacific Palms recreational club ( Recky) which is a short 5 minutes down the road. Smiths Lake is only 5 minutes drive away in the other direction and has catamaran and boat hire services close to the Frothy Coffee Cafe, SeaForest Sanctuary sites are 4WD and AWD due to the tracks- some 2WD as long as they have a high ground clearance; depending if we have dry weather. ( I have a small 2WD SUV and it gets around perfectly in the dry weather but I need the 4WD in the wet ). No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campers MUST bring their own camping toilet... This property is a wildlife/bush sanctuary and thus everyone is asked to please do their part to keeping it that way. The waterways and forests in this area are mind blowing. If you have the opportunity, hire a boat/ houseboat or kayak etc and explore the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes.. Bushwalking trails are everywhere through the many National Parks that surround us here. The property is Dog friendly and owners must be respectful of others and keep animals quiet and contained at night. Goes without saying - please clean up doggie dung and take with your rubbish. Campfires are permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place, plenty of wood to gather your own. Please be mindful that there could be fire bans on certain days during the summer. Farm manager will keep you informed and if the worst scenario happens being a fire warning of catastrophic conditions, please follow the farm managers instructions to evacuate the premises and enjoy some shopping in Forster or go to the movies for the day until the warning has lifted.

The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. The waterways and forests in this area are mind blowing. If you have the opportunity, hire a boat/ houseboat or kayak etc and explore the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes.. Bushwalking trails are everywhere through the many National Parks that surround us here. The property is Dog friendly and owners must be respectful of others and keep animals quiet and contained at night. Goes without saying - please clean up doggie dung and take with your rubbish. Premium and exclusive natural camping at its best. Our farm is located on the beautiful Karuah River in the picturesque Monkerai valley. The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. Stayed at long flat for 3 nights. Site was very large and well maintained. Had platypus right in front of our camp each night. They came out just as the sun set over the range. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights at OKA. Beautiful peaceful location with majestic trees filled with staghorns and a lovely dam with pretty water lilies. The facilities are well maintained and the camp kitchen is amazing - complete with chandeliers and lots of eclectic things to look at. Kellie and Rod were very welcoming as was their beautiful dog Ruby.

We stayed at ‘The Rapids’ site which was a beautiful spot overlooking the river. Access was easy for our 15ft van. The hosts were very welcoming and communication was great. The beautiful town of Stroud is about 8kms away if you need any supplies. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved our stay at Bonneydoon. The property is outstanding with plenty to do without even leaving the property if you don’t want to travel around the local points of interest. At the time of our 2 night stay, there was nobody else there so Nicholas said we can take our pick of sites even though we only paid for the cheapest camp site. Throw in the beautiful views, fantastic wildlife and great weather, we couldn’t fault this Hip Camp.

Great tranquil spot, right on the river. 3 camp sites but you cannot see from one site to another, there was someone else came and stayed at another site and we only saw them drive in and then back out 2 days later. Short walk to a great swimming hole near the bridge or sit in water at front of camp. No toilets or showers, just take your own nice clean dump point in Dungog. No phone coverage but someone in group had a star link which worked fine if we needed to make a call, or you can drive up the hill to get coverage, but I just turned my phone off for the peace and quiet John comes down to check on you mid morning which turned into a nice chat, very friendly and knowledgeable man to talk to. Definitely going back again

Great place to stay. Other reviews mention the nearby road and while the road is fairly close, it is in a pretty isolated area and rarely had any vehicles go past while I was these. Other camping spot is far enough away for privacy but no one else camped while I was there. Easy access and good clean spot to set up camp. Good view down to the river with pretty easy track down to the water. Excellent communication from the host.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit. You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here. Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around! Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances. LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you! Do you fancy camping on your own exclusive section of the Hunter River with no roads or traffic noise to spoil the serenity? You wont have to share your spot with other campers and you have direct access to the river. Rosebrook River Camp gives you your own private retreat, far away from the crowds but only a few minutes from the beating heart of the Hunter Valley. Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee. For those a bit more adventurous, we take you via road to our drop off point and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 3 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. There are heaps of places to stop and have some lunch and a swim on the way. The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going. Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them. A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee. We’ve kept things simple and natural because that’s the way we like it. It’s a true bush camp — plenty of space, plenty of privacy, and no fuss. We just ask that everyone who stays treats the place with respect and leaves it as they found it, so the next campers can enjoy it too. Whether you’re here for a quiet weekend, a bit of fishing, or just to switch off from the world for a while, this is the place to do it. We are unfortunately unable to take new bookings for the foreseeable future and likely until late 2026. Please check back with us later next year. Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.

An exclusive, natural camping experience situated on the beautiful Gloucester River under the picturesque Bucketts Mountains. We are just 5 minutes from Gloucester CBD. The Bucketts are within the country belonging to the Biripi and Worimi peoples, with Gloucester being known as Mookibakh. In the native language, the Bucketts mountains (the Buccan Buccan) means the “father of stones looking down on sacred land.” As an active beef farm we may have cattle in the paddock you camp in but the site will be secured by temporary electric fencing to ensure your safety. Hence, we ONLY allow dogs to stay whilst on a lead or tethered run at all times. Dogs sighted off a leash will result in you leaving immediately with no refund. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming, fishing, photography or just enjoying. Wedgetail Eagles, Black Cockatoos, Black Shouldered Kites, Kookaburras and Butcher Birds life in the area. As do kangaroos, possums and echidnas. Our night skies are very clear, no pollution here! All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent). Our sites are ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. You must have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste. This is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. As is the case with general rubbish. You should bring sufficient water with you as we do not provide drinking or potable water. You will have very good mobile and internet coverage across the property. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand.
