ACCESSING THE ISLAND
The easiest way to get to Cockatoo Island is by public ferry. The F3 and F8 services operate to Cockatoo Island daily, departing from Circular Quay and Barangaroo as well as from wharves along Parramatta River. Note: There is no vehicle access to or on the island.

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.
Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are loving welcoming back our guests.

Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney.
We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!
We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water.
You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

Do not light a fire without approval from owners. Approval for a fire is dependent on weather, conditions, and restrictions. Fires must be kept small. No chainsaws or generators. No Pets. No Parties or Extra Guests without approval. Do not drive or park in sign posted areas. Reduce noise after 11pm. Leave the bathroom clean. No littering. Dispose of rubbish in the bins on WBR Road

Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. Minimum of 2 dogs per booking and they must be noted on the booking.

What a gorgeous place to stay.
I was warmly greeted by Lambert who gave a run down of the amenities and local info. Rained the whole evening, it was bliss to fall asleep to rain over the paddocks and rolling meadows.

This is a fantastic space, a little piece of paradise. We had a great time, facilities could not have been better and the owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend this space more, they've got everything you need. The undercover area was perfect. Great for dogs and groups wanting a private space. Camping with added luxuries.

It was a great spot to camp about 10mins from the shops, flushing toilet and hot shower, fire wood all around, flat grass for the swag, friendly host, would stay again.

Overall, the experience was great. John, the owner, was very accommodating and thoughtful—he even checked in to see how we were doing. He kindly lent me his toolkit to fix my broken tent, which I really appreciated.
The only downside was that there was just one toilet. Thankfully, there weren’t too many of us, so it wasn’t a major issue.

We had the best stay at Myrtle Ridge!! The site is beautiful with plenty of space, you are quite secluded from the other campers which is brilliant. Toilets are clean. Alana was a fantastic host, we really enjoyed chatting with her and she was very accommodating and helpful. Will look forward to coming back!

First time in 15 years we had a family holiday camping. It’s was a bit of a surprise finding the little hidden gem not far from home, but far enough to enjoy each other’s company a not be on our phones.. Friendly, happy host Alana. Quiet spot with plenty of room. Clean bathrooms, able to play footy, and use the new rc car toy, while running around with the puppy. Close to shops when we needed them, went to wollombi for a nice easy drive. Loved it.

Plenty of space for kids to ride bikes and good access to water for swimming or fishing.

This is such a beautiful and precious hip camp. The people that run the farm are so lovely and very accomodating. They do tours on weekends and take you to their animals. /teach you about the farm and its history.
There is a really lovely waterfall and walk and the orchards are beautiful to walk around with tasteful oranges!
The funds raised from the hip camp goes to the Rotary charity in many countries it is a very cool concept.
We would highly recommend checking this out!

Perfect spot for a little getaway. 1.5 hours from south west Sydney.
The place is very grassy and has not dirt which was very nice as when it rained, it was not muddy.
Met John on arrival and he was very welcoming.
Access to the river was very easy.

Lambert and Deborah was awesome and accomodating right from the start. I had the place all by myself with the occasional kangaroo between morning nights and sunsets. Shared facilities was great as well. I had a wonderful stay and couldn’t ask for more. Hope to see Warm Corner again soon :))
