Sapphire Coast Dairy-Homestead

5 sites · RVs, Tents929 acres · Greendale, NSW
376 hectare operating dairy farm next to Biamanga National Park with access via secret 4WD track to the mountain and 22km to Brogo Dam for bass fishing. 16.5 kms to shopping centre of Bega. & 34 km to Tathra beach. The property has eucalyptus forest, rainforest gullies, fresh mountain water and abundant wildlife include bellbirds and lyrebirds. The campsite is at the original 1908 selection block by the late John Pearce (one of the first settlers in the area) and has extensive views. in dry weather you can get here in 2WD towing a small camper trailer. There is a steep hairpin bend so I do not recommend caravans with 2WD vehicles (4WD vehicle and caravan could handle this). If you have queries regarding access check photos in gallery or please ask me. Flushing toilet on site. Dogs permitted. Good telephone and internet reception. Ideal for flying your new drone.

Roagumba Farm

3 sites · RVs, Tents920 acres · Yowrie, NSW
Roagumba, or Roa for short, is our 920 acre patch of paradise in the stunning Yowrie Valley, an area traditionally inhabited by the Yuin people. Roa is a working cattle farm, made up of approximately 60% cleared land and the rest native bushland. The Yowrie Valley is largely surrounded by the beautiful Wadbilliga National Park. It is a 35 minute drive to the beaches near Bermagui, whilst the historic and quirky town of Tilba is 40 minutes away. The crystal clear Yowrie River flows along the western side of the property with numerous secluded swimming holes. The property is a working cattle farm so you're likely to meet some very friendly Jersey cows during your stay, as well as a lot of native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and birds. We cater for small groups who are seeking a quiet, peaceful escape. Our sites are small and are capped at 6 people each, per night. To reduce traffic and out of respect to our neighbours, there is a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per site. One additional vehicle per site can be organised, however we need at least 72 hours notice.

So Good Farm

10 sites · Lodging, Tents200 acres · Wyndham, NSW
We purchased our 200-acre property after it was devastated by the Summer 2019/20 bushfires. We are new to farming and are learning to live on the land. The property came with sheep which we are also learning a lot about, we also have an extremely friendly kelpie named Sage. We are interested in the idea of becoming organic farmers, love to do our bit for the environment, and want to live a more sustainable lifestyle. We grow herbs and vegetables, have a few fruit trees, and can't wait to plant more. We have fallen in love with farming life and want our farm to be a place of learning and enjoyment and can't wait to share the little place we call home. So Good Farm is situated 20 minutes west of Pambula Beach on the Sapphire Coast. The property is surrounded by trees and is filled with an abundance of wildlife. There is a creek that runs through the property and a spring feed dam. Plenty of walking tracks throughout the hilly property with amazing views at various spots, especially the peak of the property, if you are up for the challenge. The property also backs onto a national park. The closest town is only 5min away where you can pick up food supplies and fuel.

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge

13 sites · RVs, Tents330 acres · Bemboka, NSW
Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. May common sense prevail. Thank you for visiting the farm.

Kybeyan Retreat

8 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents3000 acres · Kybeyan, NSW
Pitch your tent or park your campertrailer in the native bushland with the pristine Numeralla River as your boundary fence. This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

Haven

2 sites · RVs, Tents6 acres · Nimmitabel, NSW
Haven is a sanctuary for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. As a fully licensed wildlife carer with over 5 years' experience I often have a range of animals in care (as I write this I have two ringtail possums with me). I love sharing this part of my life with people, its so special to hear the stories of these critters and be able to connect with them. There are also a few permanent animals in residence, these include brumby Tiana, retired racehorse Shirley as well as house cat and dog Mishka and Loui. The church in the property was originally built in 1904 as a Methodist church from hand cut local timber, each beam individually numbered and assembled by local residents. It was renovated and extended in 1958 and later became a Uniting Church before it was deconsecrated in 2004. The church is now privately owned (by me) but still remains part of the town's heritage trail. The campsite consists of just two sites and basic camp toilet facilities (there are also fully serviced public toilets around five minutes walk away at the lake). Both sites sit at the top of the valley overlooking the horse paddock with a historical railway line running through it and views over the main range of the snowy mountains. It occasionally also snows here and in warmer months the fields are full of flowers. If you're lucky you may even get to see one of the birds of prey that often circle above the valley. Guests may also have the opportunity to observe the feeding of any wildlife in care as well as help to feed the horses during their stay. Nimmitabel is a picturesque historical village located on the Monaro high plains on the top of the great dividing range. At 1070m elevation it's one of the highest altitude towns in the country. The town is less than 5 minutes walk away and has several cafes / dining options (including our famous bakery), a couple of antique stores, a petrol station, country club, and a few other speciality stores like the CWA store (which stocks a range of locally produced goods). Nimmitabel is approximately one hour from the coast, one hour from the snow and 1.5 hours from Canberra, making it a great base for all kinds of adventures! I look forward to welcoming you.
