Stayed here for 5 nights in tents. Plenty of room. Despite a lot of rain before we arrived, the ground wasn't particularly wet, and didn't pose any issues. The facilities are simple, but work perfectly.
We didn't use the flattened area because there were puddles around the edges and we were worried it would get messy underfoot, especially with more rain forecast. It had been raining fairly solidly we gather that morning. The puddles drained in less than 24 hours despite the additional rain, so that would have been the perfect spot to have put our kitchen tent as it happened. Will know that for next time!
The only downside was that it is right next to the highway, and the road noise during the day was quite constant - high speed passing traffic, not car revving noises or the like that you can get in towns. There was hardly any traffic overnight so it really wasn't that much of an issue. Might be a problem if you're a particularly light sleeper, but it didn't bother us.

We totally enjoyed our stay in the paddock. Loved the birds and kangaroos who came to check us out. We had the whole place to ourselves. Good facilities and nice hot showers.

Wonderful campsite with great facilities. It was semi private with only one other camper which was nice. Area was able to be fenced off so the dog could have a run around too! Love this style of camping compared to caravan parks 😊

Nice ammenities very clean. Was good for a few nights stay. Convenient location 5-10 mins drive out of town. A bit far from the lake and couldn’t see the lake from the campsite

Site was good location near highway and perfect for the two nights. Great to have toilet & shower demountable short walk from the camping area. Thank you for having us stay; it's so close the Pambula & had lots of birdlife.

Top of the Lake is great! This was our second time, but this time we stayed in a unit rather than camping. It was warm, cozy, and well equipped, with a full kitchen for us to cook in. Our favourite part? Just how dog friendly it is, they were happy for us to keep our fur babies inside with us, as well as leaving them in the secure courtyard if we needed to go shopping. And the secure off-lead yard was so much fun for them to run around in. 10/10 will definitely stay here again, whether camping or glamping in a unit.

This was a lovely camping spot, lush green grass and close to everything. The facilities were clean and tidy. Unfortunately the access to the lake was really only for boats, not a shoreline to walk along or let the dogs play in.

A great base to explore the sapphire coast, close to Merimbula and Pambula. Car needed for shops as no where within walking distance , on main road with some road noise but not an issue for us. For the most part we were the only campers so was super peaceful. Lake not really visible from camp site. Neat and tidy, sloping site with flat areas to pitch. The whole area has limited signal for any internet connection which was lovely to switch off but a problem when trying to contact family over xmas. We were 2 mature travellers with a small dog. We valued the electric hook up and access to water, toilets, showers and washing machine. A lovely christmas break, thankyou (great that a power adapter was available, didn’t think to bring our own) Corene & David

Really nice clean campsite. I was the only person there when I stayed. Location is really convenient to the highway and it's a short drive to merimbula and Pambula.

Top of the Lake is a lovely spot not far from Merimbula or Pambula. The camp site is set back from the lake but it is only a short walk down a driveway to the waters edge. The site can be very wet after a lot of rain but there’s plenty of room to set up and the amenities are an added bonus. Sharon and Jason are both lovely and hospitable. We loved being able to have our dogs with the group.

Overall had a good experience. Amenities were good however ‘lake view’ heading for the site is deceiving and untrue. We were disappointed to find there was in fact no lake view. Would not get any standard car/trailer in the paddock, only a 4wd so be cautious when booking.

The field was a muddy mess, cut to pieces by other vehicles. It was close to a pretty noisy road and we don’t feel that the photos were a fair representation of the actual camping experience.
The shower facilities were decent but otherwise pretty disappointing for the price.

If it were dry weather it would have been great, but with the rain it flooded the site a bit. Nice showers, and facilities. Good location for an overnight stop.

Great pit stop - spacious and private in a bush setting (nice walk to the Lake as well as seeing kangaroos feeding on the lush grass)! The bonus was the toilet and shower facility. Thank you Sharon. Jane

Not ideal for caravans without good off grid functionality as ground is not level enough within reach of power and water.
The photos presented on the site don’t represent a true picture of the camp sites.
Great for large groups camping. Good amenities and host very responsive.
Would love to have had a night fire as it was quite chilly but fires are not allowed. Host may want to consider allowing people to use their own fire pits.

Sharon’s and Jason’s Top of the lake Hipcamp is by far the best we have been to so far. After five days of basic hip camping having bathroom facilities, fridge , microwave and washing machine plus water and a rubbish bin was heaven . Puppy friendly as well! Highly recommend and we will be back .
