Our bathroom facilities are an outside shower and composting toilet about a 20m walk from the cabin but the bonus is we have just had instant hot water installed and the shower is steaming hot. There is a hand basin outside the cabin with cold running water for drinking and washing. We will always leave a torch in the cabin for your use, for those late night adventures! For your convenience there is a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, drinkware, cutlery and plates. Linen and towels are provided and the fridge will be stocked with milk and cold water. There is no hot and cold running water inside the cabin however as I mentioned the hand basin outside will provide cold water for hand washing, teeth cleaning etc. Animals roam free on the property and the cabin overlooks our dam where the ducks and geese take their families to swim. As I mentioned earlier, this is a working farm and business and we do have a dam in close proximity to the cabin; this is NOT fully fenced, so please be aware that is it your sole responsibility to supervise your children at all times – animals are also freely wandering the grounds in the way of chooks, alpacas, sheep, goats, geese and dogs (we have 8 rescue dogs of all shapes and sizes), so please be aware that free range is just that, again supervision will be required. Adequate footwear for children would be an advantage as the walking tracks can be rutted after bad weather and working farm means dirt and animal poop (just to add to the fun) so obviously safety is the best prevention. We'd love to show you our little part of the world and welcome you to our home. We welcome lots of interaction with the animals and there is a big open fire that you can sit around and toast marshmallows and chat or a smaller one outside the cabin to take in the fresh air and the canvas of stars. For your convenience there is a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, drinkware, cutlery and plates. Linen and towels are provided and the fridge will be stocked with milk and cold water. There is no hot and cold running water inside the cabin however as I mentioned the hand basin outside will provide cold water for hand washing, teeth cleaning etc. Animals roam free on the property and the cabin overlooks our dam where the ducks and geese take their families to swim. As I mentioned earlier, this is a working farm and business and we do have a dam in close proximity to the cabin; this is NOT fully fenced, so please be aware that is it your sole responsibility to supervise your children at all times – animals are also freely wandering the grounds in the way of chooks, alpacas, sheep, goats, geese and dogs (we have 8 rescue dogs of all shapes and sizes), so please be aware that free range is just that, again supervision will be required. Adequate footwear for children would be an advantage as the walking tracks can be rutted after bad weather and working farm means dirt and animal poop (just to add to the fun) so obviously safety is the best prevention. We'd love to show you our little part of the world and welcome you to our home. We welcome lots of interaction with the animals and there is a big open fire that you can sit around and toast marshmallows and chat or a smaller one outside the cabin to take in the fresh air and the canvas of stars. Head up to the Treehouse and make yourself comfortable in the suspended ergoflex queen bed, let the breeze tussle your hair, and watch the world go by - sometimes all we need is somewhere quiet to sit and BE for a while, before heading back into the fray. The infrared sauna sits in its own building where you can look out over the garden while enjoying its wonderful health benefits. It's free to enjoy, just book your time with Bronwen when you arrive. The smallest things can be healing, like snuggling up in front of the firepit, patting a cat, reading one of our many self-help books or novels, drinking tea, just listening to the birds, or playing with a dog. We didn’t end up getting to stay at the cabin as we couldn’t get into the drive way. Would definitely recommend taking a four wheel drive if you are going after rain. Annabelle was lovely and did everything she could to help but it just didn’t work out. So would definitely recommend Annabelle as she was friendly, kind and helpful.

The perfect hideaway!! We had a lovely weekend and saw so much wildlife. It was so nice to dip our feet in the stream on a warm sunny day. And the shower was luxury when it was chilly in the evening! The cabin was so cosy and comfy. Would definitely recommend, and hope to come back one day. Next time will have to bring binoculars to watch the birds. Thank you Annabelle and Drew.

Weekend Trip to Nos Astra

We've spent a wonderful long weekend at Nos Astra with my wife and our 4 year old. Our son loved the trampoline, the small bush walks on the property and roasting marshmallows at the bonfire. I tracked down to Cox River crossing, following some paths leading out from the back of the property and through the woods. We spent the nights laying in the trampoline and gazing at the stars. The property offered great views, was nice and quite and we even encountered some kangaroos and huge monitor goanas on our walks.

What an incredible escape! Aurora-Exclusive delivered everything we hoped for and more. Our host was genuinely welcoming and made the check-in process seamless - you can tell they truly care about creating a memorable experience for their guests. The privacy here is unmatched. It felt like having our own private slice of the Blue Mountains—no direct neighbours, no noise, just surrounded by stunning bushland and those breathtaking escarpment views. The hut is wonderful - thoughtfully designed and perfectly positioned to make the most of the scenery. It provided the perfect base for our adventure while still feeling connected to nature. The highlight of each evening was gathering around the campfire under the star-filled sky. There's something magical about sitting by the crackling flames with wombats and kangaroos wandering nearby - it's the kind of authentic Australian bush experience you dream about. It was amazing that we were allowed to bring our dog! It made this trip complete.
