It’s no secret that Badlands National Park is one of the Midwest’s most well-known national parks… and for good reason. It features a totally jaw-dropping and unique landscape of buttes, pinnacles, and spires, all nestled within a grassland prairie. Miles of hiking trails meander through the flat prairie and up the Badlands features themselves, giving you an incredible look at this craggy, rugged landscape. Besides hiking, Badlands National Park offers super scenic drives, camping, and much more. Part of this park is actually a wilderness reserve, making this area home to many creatures, including black-footed ferrets, bison, antelope, and bighorn sheep. How about some history? Tons of travellers visit Badlands National Park to check out their impressive collection of fossils, which features fossilized remains from animals as fascinating as saber-toothed cats, camels, and three-toed horses. There's no doubt about it—Badlands is truly a spectacular national park.
