Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Also known as the "other" badlands, this national park is a magical land of deep canyons.
Escape to the badlands of western North Dakota. See the Little Missouri River, Painted Canyon, and a historic cabin. If you're lucky, you may come across a herd of wild horses in this wild and free area. There's plenty to do, here are some highlights.
Gaze upon geologic beauty at Painted Canyon. Red, brown, and white layers of rock form a beautiful, natural canvas. Bring binoculars to see miles upon miles of hillsides.
Go to Maltese Cross Cabin just outside of Medora, North Dakota. Teddy Roosevelt himself used the cabin during a vacation before he was president. Some personal artifacts belonging to Roosevelt are preserved in the cabin.
