Harvest Creek

10 sites ¡ RVs, Tents38 acres ¡ Henagar, AL
In 2022, we became the proud owners of this beautiful property and immediately started making improvements. The first project was clearing the area and creating a serene fish pond, which we thoughtfully stocked with fish in the following spring. In 2023, we embarked on another exciting venture by starting the construction of our second fish pond, ensuring even more opportunities for guests to enjoy the tranquility of the water. But our efforts didn't stop there! We also established a thriving 1/4 acre garden, where we already had some existing fruit trees and grape vines. With a passion for providing fresh and wholesome food to our guests, we have ambitious plans to expand the fruit and vegetable production in the garden. Our aim is to offer campers the delightful experience of indulging in delicious, freshly harvested produce during their stay with us. As we continue to develop and enhance our property, we are committed to creating a haven where nature's bounty and a serene environment come together to provide an unforgettable camping experience. Whether you're seeking relaxation, exploration, or simply to connect with nature, our campsite promises to be a place where you can unwind and savor the goodness of the land. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the fruits of our labor with you on your next camping adventure!

The best camping near Cathedral Caverns State Park guide

Overview

About

Holy bat caves, Batman! Cathedral Caverns State Park (originally named the Bat Caves) offer massive caverns that would be idyllic for a superhero's underground lair. Check out the "frozen" waterfall with a stalagmite forest, and some of the world's largest stalagmites measuring a whopping 45 feet tall. Kids will love to sift through buckets of mining dirt to find precious gemstones, and we doubt the occasional adult wouldn't mind it, either. Backcountry campers have the ability to hike in here, too. Only a short drive away from Lake Guntersville, we think this is a great road trip pit stop for outdoor and comic book enthusiasts alike.

Notable campgrounds

  • Improved Campsites: Equipped with modern amenities, these sites offer a comfortable stay amid the park's natural beauty.
  • Primitive Tent Camping: For a more rustic adventure, these areas provide a perfect setting for stargazing and connecting with nature.
  • Backcountry Campsite: Ideal for the intrepid backpacker, this secluded spot promises solitude and an immersive outdoor experience.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early to secure your spot, as the park's unique attractions make it a popular destination.

  • Stay flexible with your dates, as alternative options may open up outside of peak times.
  • Explore nearby camping options to ensure you have a backup plan in case the park is fully booked.

When to go

The best time to visit Cathedral Caverns State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural beauty is at its peak. Summer offers longer days for exploration, though it can be quite warm. Winter is serene, but prepare for cooler temperatures.
