Logan county is also home of the Piatt and Mac-O-Chee Castles both located 20 minutes from camp. For those who desire to shoot small or large guns, there is a gun store/range located next door to us. Great way to relieve some stress. (Able to watch the total solar eclipse. April 8th 2024.) We offer two excluded primitive sites with fire rings, spaced for privacy. Both surrounded by trees and wildlife. We have two porta john toilets in a central location with a hand washing station. If weather permits all vehicles have access to both sites. Learn more about this land: The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. Included in this campsite is access to our 1830s spring house if you want a refreshing dip! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING.Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The spring house is not secluded, you can see it from our driveway. We regularly let it drain and it fills itself up. Water level depends on rainfall. It is cold but perfect for hot days! 4) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 5) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.
