43 Acres of rolling hills and lots of great little spots to car/van/truck camp, pitch a tent or park small trailers and small RVs.  All of our sites are DRY camping no water/electricity.

For everyone’s peace and enjoyment, please read the entire description and disclaimer at the very bottom of this description before requesting to book.

SUMMER/FALL: Expect the landscape and views to be golden brown (not green and lush like in a lot of the photos posted which were taken this past winter/spring.)

CAMPSITES: We place campers at camp sites on a first-come first-serve basis upon arrival.

Our best sites with little to no traffic noise and the best views are on our back property, best suited for tents, camper vans, trucks and maybe if you're brave enough to drive up a steep hill, SMALL trailers or SMALL RVs.

Sites on our lower property by the common area have views up the mountain but come with some highway noise, we imagine it sounds like waves crashing, we call it the steal river.  Also our dogs might/will bark at night to fend off coyotes and our resident bobcat.

For your private camp area, please bring your own drinking water, water to wash dishes and if think you'll need: chairs and camp tables, umbrella or shade structure, boots (leave your flip flops at home), etc. etc. Plan on being fully self-sufficient at your private camp area.  Otherwise feel free to use all the common areas in front of the barn until 10pm.

COMMON USE AREA: Inside and near the barn include: tables, chairs, hammocks, wood fire pit, outdoor propane BBQ and stove, small indoor kitchen,  porta-potties, outdoor mineral shower and mineral plunge tub.

DISCLAIMERS: We adore children and male dogs but discourage requests to camp with us if you have children or un-neutered dominate male dogs.

We have three male dogs, two of the three are un-neutered, we don't want the boys to gang up on any visiting un-neutered adolescent or adult dog.  Other than that our dogs are great with children, female dogs and non aggressive medium to small male dogs.

We like to provide a more adult atmosphere for our campers. That said we are happy to have you bring children, especially if you plan on staying at your private site most of the time.  We do like letting the kids feed the chickens.

CAMPFIRES / Fire-pits: We have nine (9) decorative propane fire-pits available for rent via Venmo $25.00 per night. Free community fire-pit will be lit at sunset.

Private camp site wood fires and charcoal barbecues are prohibited during fire season. FIREWORKS, SPARKLERS & FIRE SPINNING PROHIBITED

OUR DOGS: Do a great job of fending off the resident bobcat and coyotes on the front portion of our property and by the barn, if they are barking in the night there's a reason. If you end up camping on the front portion of our property, and think their barking will affect your sleep, bring earplugs ;-).

We look forward to hosting you.  Sincerely, Sierra and Darin

Sierra and Darin were fantastic. They gave my friend and I a tour and an array of camping choices. Their photos don’t do justice to the stunning beauty of their place. It’s a wonder their gorgeous ranch is not overrun with Finnish families, smelly German hitchhikers and tent campers trying to get into one of the coolest places I have ever camped.

Darin and Sierra are a couple of gems! They are kind and friendly and they went above and beyond in so many ways! The campsite view was gorgeous! We felt like we had our own little private paradise. Our goal was to escape the city and that's exactly what we found. Seclusion and paradise. The campsite was clean and very well kept up. The composting toilet was a bonus. We usually bring our own toilet set up but had no need this trip. We cannot wait to come back here and spend time with Darin and Sierra while we enjoy the wilderness. Our pups already miss Reno, Titan, and Bandit. Their boys were so kind. They gave our pups a top notch experience and you know the camping trip was all for them anyways. Ha! They got to run and play and explore with their new puppy crew. And they also got to swim in their top notch first class puppy pond. They were wet, and muddy, and messy, and loved every second of it! We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our fur babies. You will NOT be disappointed with your choice at Freedog Farms. Click yes to book and prepare for a breath of fresh air! We will be back 100%! - Shelby & Jason

Cactus flower ranch was an absolute dream. Several different camping options that’ll fit any occasion. Whether you want a quiet getaway outside the city, a social campfire, some adventurous hikes and so much more. They even have a barn you can stay in. Showers (with limited water) and electricity if needed and town is only a 5 minute drive away. Sierra and Darin are great hosts and we had a blast. Will be back soon.

We loved our night at Cactus Flower Ranch! Dan and Sierra were super nice at great hosts. The property was incredible, rolling green hills for as far as you could see with many possible spots to set up camp. We decided to stay in a cozy artists' cabin atop a grass plateau where we could watch the starts. Dan and Sierra's central house had a great atmosphere, at night they had a campfire going and we were even able to relax in the hot tub while drinking wine out of mason jars provided by Sierra. The super cute dogs running around the property were a huge plus too!

Sierra was a wonderful hostess, meeting us at the gate and introducing us to Bandit, their large, white, friendly dog. She generously offered to let us sleep in an RV trailer when I realized I had forgotten our sleeping pads while packing. The fire pit and communal barn area is great for guests to hang out and be social - my partner and I were tired from a long road trip and just enjoyed a good night’s sleep instead. Beautiful green hill views in the morning.

This was the last stop on our four-stop camping odyssey and even though the weather was heinous -- pouring rain all night -- Sierra & Darin made this our most memorable stay. They have so much pride in their land and passion for their lifestyle that we left inspired, though a little soggy. Sierra took us on a tour of their property, which is like something out of a movie. Oak trees with Spanish moss, green grassy fields for days, wildflowers like you read about. They have created an artsy, eco-conscious haven tucked right off of the 101, which you can hear very faintly from most places on the property, but as Sierra calls it, the "tin tide" was actually soothing. We chose a spot with an artist's studio, which came in handy for the rookies in my family who needed shelter from the rain, but two of us slept in a waterproof tipi and let the rain lull us to sleep...But here's the kicker...our spot was remote, the weather lousy, which make trekking to the bathroom sad, so they built us a composting toilet. Read it again...Sierra & Darin built. Us. A. Toilet. Now if that's not over the top attentive, well, I don't know what is. Cactus Flower is worth the stay just to meet these amazing people.
