This treehouse was like nowhere else I've stayed! All communications and preparation done by both the hosts and the caretaker were above and beyond. I followed the written directions given to me for the property and had no issues. Immediately after turning off the main road and following the 2 mile gravel driveway, I knew I was in for a treat. The mountain greeted me as soon as I turned a bend and I had to stop for a minute to take in the full beauty. There was wildlife every where I looked and plenty of places to wander and roam around the property. My morning walks with my coffee and camera were some of my favorite times. The treehouse itself was cozy and had everything I needed. There is no AC unit and seeing as it was nearly 100 degrees when I arrived I was a little nervous I'd not sleep well but the open windows, natural breeze and window fans cooled the area right down come bedtime. I slept like a rock hearing nothing but the sounds of nature. This was a great getaway and was close enough to town for an evening happy hour or morning coffee run. I kept thinking to myself how I can't wait to come back in the winter and experience it with the snow falling! This is a must stay.

Stairs both into the treehouse and up to the bedroom, but oh so worth it! Driveway views! Jealous! A great spot to spend the evening with an ice cold drink and watching the deer wander by. I could have sat out here for hours! Watching the deer in the far meadow and a kitten chase grasshoppers in the driveway.

Hi Brogan! Thank you for your AWwsome review. Every time I drive into or walk around the property there is something new or unexpected which totally makes me take an "Awe" moment or several! Right now we're in the middle of the Perseid Meteor Showers and the meadows are an amazing place to star gaze, see the night sky in three dimensions (as opposed to the flat sky caused by urban light pollution), and to meteor, satellite, star, and planet gaze. Last week was a truly amazing week for planet gazing as several were visible -- including Mars and Neptune. I hope you got a chance to see the "Red" Planet on one of it's closest approaches to earth in a while -- it totally dominated the night sky from onset of dusk to the pre-dawn for several nights! I hope you are able to return in the winter when the landscape is almost primeval, serene and peaceful with a blanket of new snow. My favorite times in the hot tub are when snow is falling and world is rebirthed in pristine innocence!

My husband and I absolutely loved our short time at the treehouse and wish we had longer to build a campfire and explore the hiking trails and vineyards in the area! The site was clean and well kept with amenities you wouldn't expect in the woods. Listening to cassette tapes on the stereo while enjoying the hot tub was the perfect romantic night. The treehouse keeper was a lovely man across the field who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Directions into the treehouse were perfect, not to mention the amazing winding dirt road with the best dual mountain views we had the whole trip! It was definitely worth the trip, Rebecca and Roy were wonderful and incredibly flexible to our plans. Thank you for our little getaway!

Just beautiful, miss it already. Woke up to see the mountain tops at last!AMAZING RIGHT?!Great hang out space for music and a card game!

Hi Kelsey -- We were absolutely delighted to host you as our very first Hipcamper!! Our caretaker was very impressed and loved his interactions with you -- And, of course, he said he hopes you'll be back for return visits (As do we!!)! :-) When you do return, please let us know you are a returning camper and we'll extend a courtesy "Friends of the Tree House" discount! Hope you're having an AWwsome Day! Roy

Fantastic space, even in the winter! We enjoyed romping around the property and nearby hiking trails, ice caves, fishing access points, etc. The property keeper, Mark, helped with directions into town, warned us of what wildlife was out to be smart about (bears and a cougar with cubs) and was kind enough to offer anything else we could need while up there and still giving us space to use the site to our liking. The hot tub was clean and in an amazing setting PLUS the view of the stars on any clear night was just what we were looking for! Very sweet and quaint experience in the mountains overall!

This was exactly the type of peace, solitude, and cozy cabin getaway we were seeking for NYE. The cabin is about 30 ish minutes from Hood River up a gorgeous winding road with beautiful views. Plan to disconnect completely as there will not be service or wifi. Download tunes and bring a tiny speaker if you want your music. Stock up on wine and groceries before arriving so you have all you may need. The cabin uses a log stove for heat and it really warms up the space quickly. The hot tub was roomy, perfect and private. The best part was the absolute silence and darkness at night and waking with the gorgeous morning light and the sound of squirrels on the roof. It was a dream! THANK YOU! Communication with the host was perfect as well! We left a puzzle which fits perfect on the table and some local honey and tea for the next visitors. :-) Enjoy!

Absolutely fantastic cabin and a stay that will be hard to forget! That tree house surely has a lot of charm. Put on some old jazz on the cassette player, go for a hot tub soak, cook some good food while the fire stove crackles... The surrounding nature is also great to explore. I had fun going on dirt roads with my 4WD car. Thanks so much Roy and Rebecca for sharing your incredible cabin!
