Description

Before you fall fast asleep under the lofty oaks at Camp Roosevelt Campground, make sure to thank the Civilian Conservation Corps for all they’ve done, you’ll be at their first Camp ever! During your stay, make the campground’s forefather proud by taking advantage of the park’s mountain biking, hiking, and picnicking. You can also get a glimpse of what life may have been like by walking along a path where the actual buildings once stood.

Total disrepair. So sad to see the fist CCC camp let go into shambles. $10.00 per night. No water, bathroom shut down and dump station closed. Shame on George Washington national forest and our terrible leaders.

Camped here often 20-25 years ago. Can't imagine it has changed much... private setting to just get away and camp. Nice wooded hikes and good place for rustic drive-in camping.
