Awesome View is appropriately named; we have nearly a 360 degree view of mountains—Blue Ridge and Massanutten. We have a field that is great for camping with farmland all around. Lots of hiking, biking and skiing close by. Within 4 miles you can visit Shenandoah National Park and Massanutten 4 Seasons Resort and in the summer a produce market with delicious fresh veggies. Nearby you can visit Luray caverns and others, Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah National Park, Appalachian trail, historic Charlottesville and Staunton.

Nearby you can visit Luray caverns and others, Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah National Park, Appalachian trail, historic Charlottesville and Staunton. You can run a hose to fill your tank and we have one 30 amp hook up (Campsite #1). Firewood for sale on premises. Our home is 500 feet away.

We spent a peaceful night on Vickie's land. GPS took us right to the driveway, we pulled in to a nice level lot with picturesque surroundings and great views. The 30 amp hook-up was especially nice on a chilly late October night to run a small space heater. Our host was very responsive to all communications.

Hearts of gold! These folks are excellent hosts. Happy to have elec for this stay, a place to walk my dog, panoramic views, and star-filled nights. Grass was level. Even after a heavy rain and surprise October thunderstorm the field was dried out. Restaurants in either direction (Shenandoah and Elkton), duckpin bowling, Bear Lithia farm market, Massanutten resort, local Stonewall park has walking paths, dog park, and more. Vickie and her family will take great care of you.

come for the view, the morning mist on the horizon, a horse snuffling outside your window, October frost on the grass, a sparkling blanket of stars, or the pure kind heartedness of the hosts who know this land. you can have all of it at awesome view.

This spot was so pleasant, we stayed longer than expected. Nice clean, open, level, mowed field with plenty of space for two sites without being on top of each other. Ample space to walk my dog. The nearby road was unobtrusive. Vickie, the host, was very helpful. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

Peace & relaxation by Shenandoah NP

We stayed on Vickie's land after a day of hiking in Shenandoah National Park. It was close to both the park and the town (and gas prices were great here!), and easy to get to. Nice open and level field in which to park and set up, with beautiful views. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and purchased some firewood to enjoy a fire through the evening. There was plenty of excellent quality wood, even paper and kindling, and Vickie has done a good job of providing all you could need and having it ready-to-go. It was an excellent stay; I wish all were this nice! Thank you so much!

Awesome View Campsite 2-no electric
Spectacular! We stayed here to explore Shenandoah National Park (10min) and Luray Caverns. Unforgettable memories were made here. We found the site and the water with ease. There was plenty of room for our 36' rig (that we dare not take in to the Park). We stayed 4 nights as a group of 2 with the in-laws in a Class C in site 1. We spent every evening playing ball with our boys in the field and eating supper with a majestic sunset. The horses made great neighbors! The picnic table was a great addition. We didn't use the firepit, but it looked great as well. Vickie was so nice, in fact my 8 year old said, "she is very sweet and kind." We ran our generator as needed. We were a little worried about our options for dumping, but it was fine. I suggest you ask Vickie about that. Would definitely stay here again even if just passing through.

This was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. I never tire of sweeping mountain views and Awesome View delivers! Camp area is tightly mowed and easy in/out with minimal leveling required for TT. A great place for a relaxing and quiet weekend getaway 10/10😊

Views were very nice! I had a nice peaceful evening before heading into Shinandoah. Also not to far from multiple caverns. I would definitely recommend, just make sure you don’t need a hookup or bathroom.

Awesome meadow was a great spot for us! It's about 15 minutes outside Shenandoah National Park and just outside the nice town of Elkton, VA. Only two sites in a spacious area for our tent and transit van. In a flat grass space that is mowed nice and short. Hosts are very responsive and friendly. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone!

We completed our second stay at Awesome View. We had the privilege of meeting Vicky this visit and she's a great host. Our grand daughter was with us this trip and she fell in love with the horses. It says a lot when you want to return to Awesome View.

This HipCamp site is well named! The view is awesome, the site is beautifully maintained, the host is very welcoming and responsive. One of the best places we have stayed in our Hipcamp adventures. Thank you for a wonderful, albeit short, stay. God Bless!!

Lovely place with a true awesome view. The host was so friendly. Came immediately upon arrival to see if I needed anything. Even her father tried to help me fix my fridge cord. A real family affair! I would definitely recommend.

Awesome hosts with an awesome view. Our pups love it when we find a host where they can run free. The setup for our truck and trailer were easy in and out.

Had a wonderful stay! Host was very nice and made sure I had everything I needed … they were also super helpful in answering questions I had about local needs. Site is fantastic with a stellar view and watching the horses was just icing on the cake. Will definitely reach out next time I’m in the area.. Highly recommended!

The views of the mountains are fabulous. Great location to explore the area - breweries nearby with great music; walking trails behind the Elkton Community Center; and local Farmers Markets.

Another wonderful stay

This was our second stay here, and once again, it was fabulous. We got a lot of rain over the weekend, but the field remained firm because the grass is mature and it’s sloped just right to drain well. We were able to fill our water tank on arrival, and the 30A power was excellent all weekend. The owners are friendly and gracious, and made us feel welcome back.

Awesome View has an awesome view! It’s serene and relaxing. A great spot for dogs, though mine thought they ought to bark at the owners every time they saw them. Close to a laundromat, grocery and gas. Not far from an entrance to Skyline drive. The hosts were very friendly and super chill. Overall, a great spot!

The view was awesome as promised. It was the rest of our experience that was unexpected and exceptional. Very nice and laid back hosts with lots of camping experience. This allowed the to anticipate every need. We were provided with very reasonably priced firewood, access to both water and power and a comprehensive info packet about the surrounding area. Great stay and I would highly recommend it.

The name says it but doesn't go nearly far enough. Great site, easy in and out and close to town but very quiet. We explored the area for four days and would highly recommend it.

Awesome View is just that! There’s an awesome view of the Massanutten range. Vickie and her husband are super chill and kind hosts. You have a large field in which to spread out and are close to essential amenities like laundry, groceries, gas, etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
