(Site 4 Camp Ledge-wood) is a hike/bike-in tent campsite nestled within a series of moss covered ledge outcroppings at approximately 1000’ above sea level. A mixed hardwood/softwood forest provides shelter from both weather elements and the sun. A break in the trees over rocks to the front of the site provides beautiful easterly mountain views across NH into ME and of sunrise.
*The site Is equipped with...
Three well spaced level areas that will easily fit four-person tents. A custom wood picnic table plus a bar and two benches made from snowboards, all of which are mounted to tree stumps. A trash can, a large granite firepit with a built-in grill, pots/pans/cooking utensils, 15 gallons of water with a spigot to wash dishes/hands, log benches, camping chairs, and horseshoes. An outhouse and forest basketball court are a short walk out of the site. For folks camping in a group who may want privacy, a fourth tent area is nearby in a natural clearing (Reference our Summer Map). The clearing also serves well for lying on a blanket under the stars or in the sun. In (Parking A) both a water spigot and power are available.
*Services applicable to the site include...
Gear/food transport via ATV and daily trash removal if desired. Guests are also welcome to pack in/out their own gear and guide themselves. Berry picking is free for camping guests and includes blackberries, raspberries, low/highbush blueberries.
*Things to do at the farm include...
SPRING-FALL... Hiking/mountain biking on several miles of maintained trails marked with clear signage for easy day/night navigation (trails double as downhill ski runs in winter). Relaxing/taking in the scenery from three separate lookouts located on and around the mountain’s summit; combined they provide a 360 degree view spanning from the NH/ME Seacoast, to the White Mountains of NH, to the Green Mountains of VT. Fishing/paddling at our private pond, or relaxing on the dock (Dock is illuminated with solar lights and equipped with chairs). Bird/wildlife watching, berry picking, stargazing and leaf peeping; this is a place you can easily spend a few days and keep busy!
WINTER... On the basis of private reservation we offer the only ski area in New England accessed by either uphill travel or snowmobile lift service. With snow, our summer trails and the surrounding glades are transformed into a unique network of downhill ski/snowboard runs and snowshoe routes.
That said, if your looking to venture off-mountain and explore we’re in a great area to that; located only 7 minutes off Exit 14, NH Route 16 N.

Best campsite ever?
Amazing location. Amazing host. Amazing amenities. There is a tough hike uphill to the campsite. In order to earn the amazing time this is the cost of admission. I could not reccommend this campsite enough to anyone who enjoys an authentic weekend outdoors.
Highly reccomend picking blueberries, hiking to the top of the mountain for sunrise/sunset and skiing/snowboarding when the weather gets cold. Seriously, this might be the best place in the US. Thank you again for your hospitality and good times 🙏🙏
Private, beautiful, perfect
For our family camping trip we were looking for a remote campsite to allow for the 5 dogs to be off-leash and not bother anyone. This was PERFECT! 6 adults, 3 tents, 5 dogs fit comfortably. It was quiet, beautiful views, plenty of berries to pick. There was no one else on the whole mountain! The ground of the site was mossy and soft, very comfortable to sleep and walk on.
Only thing to note, is that it’s quite a steep hike up to the site. My healthy, relatively active, 55 year old parents did ok and did it a couple times one day to go swimming, however it’s something to consider. Eben used the four-wheeler to lug all our stuff up to the site, so no need to carry anything.
It couldn’t have been better for our family camping! Highly recommended. We will certainly be back!
Best outdoor experiences ever
Being a new user to Hipcamp, I really didn’t know what to expect. I’d say my experience at Hussey Mountain not only exceeded my expectations but also sparked a new way of looking at how we go about our every day lives. Being someone who works from home 10-12 hours a day, getting a chance to disconnect and enjoy the moment is important. Eben was hands down the BEST host we’ve had. Very welcoming and helpful along the whole experience. Loved hearing about the land history and town of Farmington. The property is an absolute gem and almost feels like your in your own private state park. The trails are very well groomed and marked so it’s hard to get lost. My favorite part was to watch the sunrise from our hammocks and then being later in the day trek up Hussey to see the sunset from the outlooks. Really resets your internal clock. As for the camp itself, you have everything you need already there such as water, firewood, cooking supplies so packing lightly is an option. I’ve already reserved my next Hussey Mountain visit and would suggest to everyone to check it out for yourself. Oh! Also, can’t forget about the huge blueberry maze and the endless amount of blueberries all over the mountain. Great for camping pancakes!
Eben’s place was the most equipped site I’ve ever camped at. Pots, pans, DEET (natural stuff I brought was not strong enough), wood, water, trash bags, camping chairs, benches, tables, grill- he had it all! The view was lovely and the short hikes to lookouts were a good stretch of the legs. The site was quiet, private, and the perfect place for our family of four and our dog. I really could not have asked for a better site. I loved going barefoot at the site because the moss was so comfortable on my feet. The sunrise was directly In front of our tent. What was a big bonus was that we didn’t have to hike in our gear as Eben brought it up with his ATV. We loved picking the blueberries and just being outdoors. I’m thrilled there are guys like Eben who are using their land this way. Not sure I will ever stay in a campground again because we were spoiled here. We will be back. Thanks for the perfect site, Eben.
We had an awesome weekend here at Hussey Mtn. The camp site (site 4) far exceeded our expectations.. plenty of space for multiple tents, amazing views, and fully stocked for cooking. The separate grill set-up next to the fire pit was a huge bonus.
The additional points of interest on the property are well worth the hikes and can take you to some very impressive overlooks. We really enjoyed taking our kayaks out on the pond for a few hours after picking wild blueberries right by the dock area.
Eben was a very pleasant host and super helpful. He transported our gear up / down the mountain and made sure we were familiar with the trail system and finding our way around the property.
We would love to come visit again. Thank you!
Best camping trip ever!!!
If you're looking for a remote, rustic and beautiful camping experience, Hussey Mountain is the perfect place! Eben is such a great host and has an amazing, completely private campsite set up with beautiful views. It is very well equipped with cooking essentials, firewood, water and other camping tools. He was so helpful with any questions we had and was extremely thorough and responsive! The walk up to the site is short but tough especially carring our bags but totally worth the hike! Eben brought up our bigger coolers and boxes that we weren't able to carry which was very helpful! We had the entire mountain to ourselves and we were free to explore whenever we wanted. We absolutely loved every minute we spent on Hussey Mountain!! If you don't mind getting a little dirty and want to be a part of a truly unique camping experience, I highly suggest booking this trip! We will definitely be coming back as much as possible and thank you Eben for creating this hidden gem!
Fantastic labor day weekend
We had a wonderful stay! Everything was clean and private. Eben was very welcoming and yet unobtrusive. I would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful place to camp with a dog and kids.
