The Stargazer was an exceptional find. I will start with the host Mikael who provided a professional introduction and assisted in making recommendations for hikes, restaurants and things to do. The property was easily accessible and absolutely stunning. The hot tub was already on and ready for entry upon arrival. The place was well stocked and clean. There was only one other place I found on Hipcamp that matched the amenities I was looking for and this place was $150 cheaper, not to mention the owner gave me a military discount on top of that!

We absolutely loved our stay at Mikael’s Desert Stargazer Cabin! The property was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly peaceful. The jacuzzi was a highlight—perfect for relaxing under the stars. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully set up, making for a comfortable and memorable desert escape. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to future Hipcampers.

Can’t express enough how nice it was to stay here! My partner and I have traveled a lot together, and we both agree this is the best place we’ve stayed so far. Beautifully designed, super comfortable, and great amenities. It really has everything you want and need.

Such a lovely tastefully decorated Cabin, rustic meets fancy meets cozy. Loved all the detail on the landscape, the fully fenced yard for the dogs, the sunrise in the hot tub and the inside of the cabin. Everything was great and Mikael was easy to communicate with. Will def come again

Nice essential oils smell when we entered. Padlocked fence before entering the property, so felt safe. Good amenities. The hot tub was cold when we arrived and wasn't heating up, but that might have been a user error. Very responsive host, so I probably could have reached out and found a solution. The fridge had old food in it (cucumbers, opened drinks) but we didn't really care. The bathroom area was awesome. Loved the shower. The water took 10 minutes to heat up but then was hot after. Water pressure was pretty low. Wifi was strong. Enjoyed using the fire pit. The outdoor furniture on the patio was covered in dog hair, so we weren't able to use it. Overall a great stay!

Mike's property was a perfect spot for a solo getaway. The fully fenced yard and modern furnishings/amenities were a plus. The directions were spot on and communication was perfect. I will definitely be back!

Great location if you want to disconnect and enjoy some time to yourself and whomever you are with! The place was very. Lean, modern. Great time in the hot tub and around the fire. It was our dogs last trip and it was great to see him sniff around, enjoy the fire and just spend quality time. I would def have no problem recommending this property and host and/or re book this very property myself!

We loved the Stargazer Cabin. And the fenced back yard had a super fire pit area. With bean bag chairs and a nice grill, too. Also, we drove out there in our Class C RV and they even had a 30-amp hook-up and water. Very nice surprise. We would definitely go back. We’re thinking of bringing our grandson because the property is very close to an OHV area that would be fun. All in all, it was pretty much perfect.

We loved our stay here. The spot feels incredibly private and peaceful, with wide-open desert views in every direction. The hot tub under the stars was a highlight, and the fire pit made our nights feel cozy and memorable. Everything was easy to access, clearly marked, and exactly as described. I would absolutely recommend this peaceful retreat in the desert! Super beautiful and quiet location just 30 minutes from Joshua Tree. Loved the outdoor hot tub and fire pit. Cozy indoor space had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway.

This property was perfect for a mini getaway. Lots of space with privacy for couples, while still being located close enough to JT. The decor is beautiful, and the little touches like room spray and bath products was nice. It was very clean as well. Peaceful :)

Mikael's place was perfect! Very clean, easy to access, and private and remote, all at the same time. We had gorgeous views of the Mojave Desert. The amenities were also great and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this if you want to visit Joshua Tree and are looking for a comfortable and clean place.

Super quiet spot! Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the silence and solitude. The night sky is absolutely stunning. The property is very well kept and clean. You’ll absolutely love it!

This place was so cozy and well maintained. It felt very private, and the stars were an amazing sighr for me as I live in a city. I plan on coming back. My wife and I had such a relaxing stay, the space was very thoughtfully laid out and we did not lack any comforts.

Went for a weekend escape and it was perfect! Mikael was awesome in communicating and making sure we checked in correctly! The house was stunning and it was a perfect little get away. The fire pit was amazing and anyone looking for a 2-3 day getaway in the desert has found the perfect spot! Thank you again!!

Desert Stargazer Cabin
Our stay at Mikael’s stargazer cabin was absolutely wonderful. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully set up, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We especially enjoyed soaking in the hot tub at night while gazing at the stunning star-filled sky — truly unforgettable! One of our favorite moments was roasting marshmallows by the fire, a simple but magical experience under the open desert sky. Mikael was a great host — responsive, welcoming, and made everything easy from start to finish. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, memorable getaway.

My partner and I are getting married next month, and with life feeling so hectic lately, this stay was truly a magical reprieve from the day-to-day. It also happened to be our 4 year anniversary so this stay was very special for us and I am so grateful we spent it here.
The cabin itself is adorable and so well designed and decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed, even offering tea and coffee. There was a recommendation for a sushi spot in the drawer which we delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The shower felt luxurious, as did the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The indoor bathtub was INCREDIBLE!! Outside has a nice campfire spot, places to sit in the shade, and hammocks. We especially loved walking around the area and admiring all of the rock statues, and the sunset was unreal.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from every day life, and to be peaceful and present in nature.

We enjoyed our stay at Mikael’s Desert Stargazer Cabin! Starting with the outside, we loved the details of the stacked rocks throughout the property and also how there were lights at night that surrounded the property as well. There is a fire pit and wood was even provided when we arrived! Sadly, we couldn’t use it since it was too windy at at night. The entire property is gated so you do have privacy.
The inside was clean and liked how it was decorated and designed! The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom was big and loved the indoor jacuzzi.
One thing I do have to mention was the sheets and comforter were not clean at all. We reached out to Mikael about this and he responded very quickly. Within a couple hours, he showed up before sundown with brand new comforter, sheets, and even new pillows! With that, he also brought us popcorn and a smores kit too! This was very nice of him to do and we thanked him for coming out to us and taking care of it. Because of this, will definitely be coming back again!

Private relaxing property. Our dogs enjoyed running around. Everything was clean and modern. Communication with Mikael was great and he was very attending and even brought us wood. Great Host
