Wonderful place for camping and enjoying wandering the paths and seeing amazing sculptures. Great amenities in the community kitchen and bathhouse facilities. Campsites were well planned and laid out. Matty Mo is an excellent host. Be sure to double check if any events are going on while staying there.

Art City is specular. Camp or Glamp it has this and more - out door kitchen and very clean showers and toilets. We spent only one very memorable night with double rainbows and then enjoyed exploring the outdoor sculpture the next morning. I think that Matty has thought of every detail. Even if you don't spend the night(s) take time to explore the outdoor art, you will be amazed. We also saw a momma wild turkey with her chicks and a turtle bigger than a dinner plate. Would I return? YES, in a heart beat. Art City is about 4 miles from downtown Tucumcari, away from the highway noise, so you will get an good nights sleep.

A magical place. The lights, the vibes, the sauna, the hot tub, the land. All of it. My bf and I picked this as our first stop on a road trip to Ohio from my home in Phoenix and I will certainly be returning with a bunch of my friends for a long weekend to write music and chill. Also holy shit the communal kitchen is nicer than most people’s kitchens in their house. And the showers are delightful. The bathrooms are so nice. This is next level glamping.

Love love loved car camping here. I found the space to be so welcoming and easy to maneuver. I used this more as a stopover on my road trip but easily could’ve stayed so much longer to enjoy amenities. The kitchen and showers were so great. The bonfire pits were a great addition and it was fun to start my morning walking the trails to the art with my dogs. Will definitely recommend!

Art City in Tucumcari was one of the most memorable stops on our road trip. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is something special. Matty has created a unique space that blends creativity, comfort, and hospitality in a way you just don’t find at your average overnight stop. I stayed in my car for a quick overnight, and everything was super easy. The site was level, quiet, and safe. What stood out most was the character of the space—murals, sculptures, and thoughtful design details all around. It’s not just a place to crash; it’s an experience. Matty was incredibly responsive and kind. He made sure everything was smooth and even encouraged sharing the experience on Instagram to help support the local vibe. You can tell he really cares about making Art City something worth remembering. I’ll definitely be coming back with my family. This is officially our go-to stop anytime we’re heading to or from Denver. Next time, I hope to stay longer and explore more of what Matty is building here. If you’re traveling through eastern New Mexico, skip the chain motels and stop here instead. You won’t regret it.

My friends and I had a great time staying the night at art city, we had issues with our propane portable stove so we were able to use the outdoor kitchen.It had everything you could need. The art and sculptures are super cool, theres art everywhere even the bathrooms. Our camp spot was great for us and we plan on returning sometime and recommending to friends also.

This site was great. I loved the open kitchen and shower format. Cheers to Matty for building this wonderfuly ambitious project. Art through physical interaction with the piece has always been a favorite of mine and this place was on point. My family loved it.

My husband and I enjoyed camping on Matty’s land. We appreciated the communal atmosphere and all of the incredible works of art. It was so much cooler in person. It’s definitely a place we would recommend to friends and come back to.

This is a great place! The art structures are certainly worth seeing, and they are especially fun as they are made to be interactive. The kids in our group thought it was so fun to climb on everything! Many of them light up at night, which was also a cool and unique feature. The bathroom facilities are clean, camp is super quiet/respectful, and the Art City staff were super friendly! The only negative I can think of was that the campus seemed a bit overgrown and unkept in terms of weeds. However, we visited during early June rains, so this could have been the reason trails were not kept up.

We were on a cross country trip and stayed here for a night. The spa was just what our bodies needed after the long drive. The outdoor kitchen was perfect. tip for nature lovers: Shower in the stall that was built around the tree.

Fun place to camp and enjoy the art. The showers are great. I enjoyed the hot tub in the evening but when I went in the morning it was only warm ish and I couldn’t figure out how to work the sauna. The communal kitchen was very nice. The sites are a little rough and when we were there in early June it was very muddy. The bathroom situation is a little confusing. All in all I enjoyed my stay but the price seemed a little high.

Art City was a trip! Beautiful land, interesting art, and a VERY nice shower/hot tub/sauna setup. Genuinely one of the nicest showers I’ve ever had at a campsite. Host was lovely, very friendly and welcoming, and answered all my questions. I will say watch out for snakes and tarantulas while walking around the land though! Super cool to see, but just be warned!

This place is so fun and the hosts were great. My dog and I had a great time exploring the art pieces scattered throughout the area. The communal spaces are beautifully creative and welcoming. I will be recommending this place to anyone passing through the area, but really, it’s worth a detour.

Art City is a terrific place to camp for and over night or several days. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The staff we kind and helpful. The showers and toilets were clean. The hot tub and Sauna were nice features that we loved. The art on property was a bonus. We would definitely stay there again.

Art City is probably the coolest Hipcamp I've ever stayed at. The sculptures were a great backdrop to a comfortable night of camping. The bathrooms were clean, and the outdoor kitchen was very convenient. If I had arrived earlier, I would have liked to have tried the hot tub. I would definitely recommend Art City to anyone who is looking for a unique and noce place to camp that is convenient to I-40.

Property is made up of 8 acres - several mobile homes and old outbuildings are on one side - the other side is set up for animals - some nice level areas with a few trees, further along the propery there is a hilly area good for tents or vans that overlooks the mora river - many areas to camp and are secluded. Quiet valley area - we do have cows, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, cats, and dogs so there are animal noises around - the amtrack train comes by about 3x per day - we wave at the folks - we do have apple/pear/peach trees on site - if the mora river is good we can kayak a bit or take them to a lake nearby. We milk the goats seasonally so now thru sept or so - fresh eggs are usually available - a cook out area is set up with a grill/smoker tables available - water is onsite - still working on other amenities - porta potty or similar available.
