There are several areas around the cabin site for guests to utilize . The area immediately around the cabin is fenced. A more isolated and remote area is located approximately 125 yards from the cabin area. One of the campfire pits is located out there.
Coyotes, Foxes, Bobcats, Raccoons, Armadillos and more have all been spotted and photographed on the property. Birdwatchers will enjoy Florida’s rich avian diversity, including Owls, Ospreys, Hawks, Falcons, and Eagles. Many water birds frequent the property’s small pond, though it is a seasonal pond.
This is an ideal home base for "day trippers". Just minutes away in all directions are Southwest Florida’s premier nature preserves, estuaries, sanctuaries, state and national parks. Delnor-Wiggins Pass and boat ramp access to the open Gulf are 14 miles away. Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, the CREW Wildlife and Environmental Area, Everglades National Park, Lover's Key, 10,000 Islands and the Florida Panther Wildlife Management Area are all just minutes away.
This is a "dark" location, which is nice for stargazing.
Note: We are located within the Collier County "mosquito control district". This is a huge plus+ in the summer months.
