If Rio Blanco near the town of Meeker Coloraodo, is where you are headed out to, there's a Beautiful view from this "Dry cabin" with a cute and rustic feeling screen porch, by an interesting mountain with a rocky wall and hillside right outside the door, and overlooking the White River, and Beautiful green hills and mountains and much of the time- prettier and blue skies. We offer a peaceful, humble and quiet, furnished, yet not insulated just yet, 12X30, new structure that is categorized presently as a dry cabin with two full beds that are both working as hide-a-beds, where there are two screened windows and a fun screen room attached to the small but comfortable little covered porch.
While we have plans for more developing in the future, we ourselves are in the process of working into our own plans for the overall site. Right now, a peaceful night's sleep is much of the idea of this stay. While there is some noise from the highway that runs near the property, it gears much towards agricultural travel, such as semi trucks headed to and from from the area.
While we always will have handwashing water and a bottle of drinking water, we are in the process of developing, which REQUIRES that anyone who reserves is ALREADY equipped with sufficient drinking, any cooking water- and any necessary washing water for their overnight staying. There is a plug, small coffeemaker, and microwave which are within the structure. Some paper towels or napkins and a tissue box are provided. While much of the time, there are ample hand towels for some convenience and extra older sleeping bags, it is not our responsibility at this time to "provide linens". Trained pet may accompany a guest, and are not the responsibility in ANY WAY of the management. Parents or guardians are completely responsible for any children or guest that accompanies them. At this time, this structure is only for people who can walk up a 100 foot, small hill without any assistance that is not already accompanying them. Owners are not responsible for providing night time bright lights. While there is always a lamp it doesn't always provide enough light for some. There is no cooling system within the structure, and only overnight is cool in the summer-(Checkout is before 10 AM).

The space
Cozy and open floorplan is ideal for a couple or up to 4 people. The loft above has a deluxe king size bed facing East for glorious sunrises over the West Elk mountains. The other side of the loft has a trundle bed where the lower twin bed rolls out from underneath the upper twin bed. There is also a standing desk with a Dell docking station and large monitor in the loft. No audible privacy other than the bathroom; everything is open. Pellet stove for heat if needed and backup propane heaters on the main level. Nice live edge furniture throughout (coasters and placemats provided, please use them!) and cherry rocking chairs for watching whatever streaming services you have subscriptions to on the entertainment center. Solid wood deck furniture and BBQ. Occasionally ATVs will pass by, neighbors have an easement to the forest but they will not use my land except to cross it.
Guest access
You can access the entire 72 acres and all of the cabin except for a few secured closet/pantry areas for the owner/cleaning crew. The generator/solar system shed is also locked. Plenty of parking. AWD or 4WD is preferred but it is a gravel road. Welcome to bring ATVs, go hunt in the adjacent National Forest, bring horses and your own hay, etc.
Other things to note
You may need to run the generator a few hours per day which is as simple as turning a switch in the kitchen if it is cloudy. If the weather is nice then the solar system will generally take care of everything.
AT&T works well here and wifi calling via starlink internet.

What a great place to stay! Clean, pretty orchards, and with the basic amenities. Dirk even added a small microwave so I could heat my tea and breakfast in the morning. Comfy bed and the outdoor shower is cool. I didn't use it because it was such a short stay, but how fun!

Weekend Trip to Perfectly Palisade
Beautiful quiet location, but close to everything. They are on the Palisade Scenic Wine Byway so you can ride or walk out your door to several vineyards or into town. Scott is a super host and very informative and provides lots of things, chairs, picnic table, fire pit and wood and most importantly a very comfortable bed. Perfect location for sunsets also.

Loved the cabin and the location was perfect! The bed was comfortable, with a good size fridge and lots out outlets too, so it had everything we needed.
We were also able to bike to nearby wineries and walk through Dirk's orchards as well! The outdoor shower was amazing and such a nice treat during hot summer days. The fire pit was great too - I highly recommend staying here! Dirk was a fantastic and friendly host - than you so much!

We were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves. I have a feeling the popularity will boom with this property. The views are great, peaches are amazing, it’s centrally located and the hosts are top notch. The AC and ceiling fan were so welcome after 90* days as well. We brought our camper van and upgraded to this spot for the AC but I’m sure on cooler days, spot #1 would be all we need. Oh, and the peaches…..

I was already looking forward to not having to set up a tent … but power? A fridge? AC 🤩😱🤩
After a 5 Hour Dr. in 100° and a full car - having a place to cool off was an awesome surprise. A nice 150 sq ft space with a comfy bed and bedding. What an easy stop. There also is plenty of fire wood and a fire pit with nice seating space and overall just a quiet and serene area to enjoy by ourselves. It was a great stay that I’d recommend anytime and looks like he has plans for a shower in the near future. There’s running water for dishes ( still just a porta potty.)
But what really really set things apart? We happened to come in the summer months and on a heavy peach harvesting weekend. Dirk was so generous and guided us up to one of the Orchards he oversees to allow us to pick the BEST PEACHES IN THE COUNTRY! Truly … if you aren’t from the area and you’re unfamiliar with Palisade, peaches they are renowned for a reason 😉

Dirk & Connie are AMAZING hosts! I had a perfect mini staycation. The location is just right outside of town (5 min drive); You can walk or bike to several wineries. I was welcomed with 4x 🍑 sitting on the refrigerator ❤️. ...little did I know many more peaches were to come. I need to give a shout out to Talbott Farms for the best peaches I have ever had! 🕊

All set up with linens, towels, soaps etc. clean and neat. Tiny kitchen. Don’t plan big dinners. There is a grill and propane. No inside table. Small sofa. Very nice loft sleeping area. Bed is very comfortable. Slept great! Bathroom is tiny but fine. No more than 2-3 people for sure. Campground is adorable! Looks like a Western town with all the different tiny homes. Nice outdoor fire pit for all to use. Definitely highly recommend.

We had an amazing time! Our stay was perfect, it fit every need that we had! Bed was super comfy. A/C was amazing. Had a great time using the fire pit and looking up at the stars. Location was perfect. Everything that we wanted to do and see was a maximum of 5 minutes away! Would absolutely stay here again. Dirk is awesome! Since our stay was during peach season, they would leave us peaches everyday, such a nice touch and so kind. It genuinely made our day! 10/10 would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Perfectly Palisade
Just as pictured, it’s an adorable, clean, older camper that’s just perfect for a couple or single person. Bed if comfy unlike some camper beds, everything works and the AC works so well I had to turn it up. The most friendly couple is your host and they are helpful and there for anything but also totally hands off if you’d like. Also they let us know if it was wind safe for having a fire and even had wood we could use. Beautiful views, quiet location and awesome things to do all around you. I will be coming back!

2 nights at Perfectly Palisade
Scott was very hospitable upon our arrival. The RV was cozy and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location and view were perfect- just a 10 minute walk from a couple of wineries and a short drive to the main road of wineries! There is also a fire pit with chairs to have a wonderful view of the sunset while sitting by the fire. This stay was exactly what we were looking for to have a relaxing time!
