PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout.
Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. If you have questions about this PLEASE message me prior to booking.
Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too!
All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites.
Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. No porta potties are provided b/tw Dec 15 and March 15

Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.

This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.

We're about 10-15 minutes' drive away from downtown Asheville and a $12-$15 Uber ride. Unfortunately, public transportation is not very accessible from the campground.
*FAQ: Is this a good spot to bring my kiddos?
Our campground is not equipped to handle the magical, whirlwind force that children release unto the world. There's a lot of breakable stuff, tempting treehouses (that might be occupied by other guests!), sites that are within earshot of each other, and hazards that aren't a good fit for kids.
WHAT'S NEARBY?
- There are approximately a bajillion breweries in Asheville, many of which are within 5-15 minutes away.
- Downtown Asheville (~10-15 minutes), West Asheville (~5-10 minutes) and the River Arts District (~5 minutes)
-Hiking! Waterfalls, mountain-top views, fog-drenched valleys, rambling rivers... There are some trails about 20 minutes away, but to get to the good stuff, you'll drive 40-90+ minutes.

The mountain view from the indoor porch is amazing and there are several places to relax and enjoy this view. Please be aware we are not completely cleared up after Hurricane Helene so we are limiting cars to 2 per site. There is parking about a mile away, or we can fit a 2 cars per site . If this is an issue please contact me to discuss. Also note we look a little different. The campsites are fine but the creek has changed its banks and the driving path moved a little. Please drive slowly on driveway and grounds.
Drones are only allowed on our property and only in daylight hours and must be discussed with us prior.
Our farm is Organic and we minimize the amount of chemicals used on it out of respect to the land. The creek has clean water, although we provide well water for the humans.
Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle.
This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing.
The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

Our Trailhead is located 45 minutes west of Asheville, NC and our hike-in trail is 2 miles long with 1,250 feet of elevation gain. The hike-in trail utilizes an old forest service road which follows a creek providing verdant landscapes and soothing sounds as you make your way up the mountain to our cabins and campsites.
We have two antique Appalachian cabins on-site and two campsites available. Our cabins and campsites are priced per person and can be reserved individually or collectively through an entire property buyout. A hearty and healthy breakfast is served each morning in our Main Lodge and is included and you'll never pay a cleaning fee on this mountain because we believe in Southern hospitality!
Our Main Lodge (Cabin #1) has a huge front porch with spectacular views, a nicely appointed off-grid kitchen, full bathroom with hot shower and an upstairs loft that sleeps up to 10. Our on-site host/s stay downstairs in the Main Lodge in private bedrooms so they can keep the home fires burning, tend the garden, cook breakfasts, clean the cabins and ensure all your needs are taken care of during your stay.

The downstairs area features an open floorpan with a queen size bed, off-grid kitchen, dining area and the loft upstairs sleeps up to 4 people. Cabin #2 also features a full bathroom with and a tree-house like view from the front porch!
Our cabin adjacent camp space features two spectacular campsites and is located 100’ from our Main Lodge. Camp 1 and Camp 2 both measure 12’x15’ and feature a soft grassy surface surrounded by natural boulder walls. Both campsites sit beside our neighboring property owned by the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy and feature a long-range mountain views. Guests at our campsites are welcomed to breakfast daily and have full access to the restroom facilities in the Main Lodge.

Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall!
This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends!
We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee
If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November.
There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund.
Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm.
No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
No fireworks.
No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible)
Do not cut down trees alive or dead
If you move picnic tables please move them back
Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit.
There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down.
The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024.

Everyone in our group of 5 was so happy with the privacy, right in the middle of the mountains. True camping experience with the luxury of a personal shower and toilet! My favorite part was the constant sensory intake of the creek. The peaceful sound at night, the coolness in the hot day, the sight of the waterfalls! Amazing! 10/10 recommendation. Not to mention the host was super informational, helpful and nice!

Had the place to myself. I was only staying there to attend an event in Lake Junaleska so just needed to sleep overnight but the location was great, very quiet. Host was very easy to contact and quickly responded when I had a question. Really appreciated that.

It’s a beautiful spot to get away from the city. We had some fireflies every night. We ran low on fire wood and I messaged Nate. A couple hours later we had a ton of wood. Nate is a wonderful host. The hot tub was very clean.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was fairly secluded, and gave us a pleasant camping experience while also providing nice showers. We enjoyed the cold plunge and sauna, and appreciated that the cabin had cooking supplies, dishes and utensils. The creek didn’t have much water in it but our kids still enjoyed playing in it!

Such a beautiful little spot with a creek that’s fairly easy to wade upon; we went about a mile with our 7 year old and he had no struggle. The main bathhouse was very well kept. We tent camped and even with the other campsites close by, it was very peaceful and pleasant. And the owners were great! Very friendly and helpful.

We had such a great time at this spot! We camped with our 2 kids and they loved tubing down the river. The swimming area was amazing for both of them and is shallow which was perfect for our 4 year old. It was so quiet and peaceful listening to the river in our tent at night. We will definitely be booking again!

We stayed at Site 1, the shade was perfect for summer. It stayed cool (as cool as summer can feel in SC) and the rain was broken up by the tree canopy. 2 access points to the river. The property was gorgeous and the bathhouse was nicely maintained. You can definitely hear the highway, but it was quiet throughout the night with the exception of the occasional loud car. Would absolutely stay here again!

The campsite was great not as secluded as we would’ve loved, but the facilities were amazing. The bathroom and the showers were very nice. The cold plunge and the sauna were absolutely beautiful. Directions were easy to get to clean up and packing out was easy would definitely recommend very great communication as well.

Wow!! Absolutely, hands down the most favorite camping location yet on Hip Camp!
I highly recommend this property.
Don’t miss the farm tour! It is worth it!! We stayed at site 3. The rapids and enjoyed playing in the rapids everyday! Fishing, exploring, swimming, nature watching! We saw several bald eagles, and other birds.
The farm fresh eggs are excellent also. Make sure and purchase some of those.
We have already made some additional plans to come back again sometime.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We took our 2 cats and tent camped.

Everything is beautiful. We stayed at the 2nd cabin. It's roughing it only a little. I'm used to tents. Doug makes a great breakfast and took care of us. Lucy the cat was fun as we have cats at home. We want to go back sometime and bring our kids.
