Moose, deer, and bear tracks are common, but animal encounters are not - still, please sequester your food accordingly and be mindful to carry out scraps or place them in lidded containers.

The cabin was built for me to steal away from the house and enjoy the wildlife, quiet, stars and silence. Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.

Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.

Scheduling Notice:
We have blocked out 5 weekends due to scheduled local events that some campers may find disruptive to their stay. The events are Mud runs held during the day with a music (Rap/Rock/Country) concert at night. Although the venue is one mile from our campsite these events can be heard as back ground noise from the camp site. The Mud runs are scheduled on the following weekends: 6/5-7, 7/3-5, 7/31-8/2, 8/28-30, and 10/2-4. If you feel you won't be bothered by these events taking place during your stay and would like to schedule a night or weekend anyway, please send us a text through Hip Camp and we will un-block the weekend so you may book it.

Hello, this Cedar Cabin is located on a private Dead End Road with direct ATV access from the cabin, this area is also known for great Wildlife moose, deer and much more. 10 minutes from the camp location is little diamond and big diamond pond, great fishing and kayaking. The property is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, gazebo with fire pit in the center, firewood bins full for purchase as an add on through hip camp, two kayaks with life vest no extra charge to use them just make sure that after they have been used they are rinsed off and put back into the original placement. property has power a functional toilet in the cabin along with a shower, also there is a Porter potty insert outhouse. There are three beds inside the cabin, bunk bed with a full size on the bottom twin on the top and a futon couch ***bring your own bedding, towels washcloths, paper products, plates, silverware** This Camp is rented through an honor system and because I rent it this way it saves you money by not paying all the cleaning fees like Airbnb, but you must leave the camp in the condition you found it or better taking anything brought to the property away ** especially trash or anything in the refrigerators** at your departure date. If anything inside or out was moved during your stay make sure it is placed back in its original placement, feel free to set up as many tents that will fit along with Easy Ups.

Carter's Cross Country Ski Center and Shop has been a family-owned business since 1984. The land on which the trails have been built on has been in the Carter family since the late 1700's. The first Carter who came to Bethel was the first doctor in the area that helped Mollyocket, a Native American medicine woman.
All the different generations that came along after were either farmers or loggers or both. Carter's XC Ski Center is located on the banks of the Big Androscoggin River. Our private established skiing/walking trails meander through the Maine woods all the way up to Farwell Mountain, overlooking Sunday River Ski, the Presidential and Mahoosuc Mountain Ranges and Mt. Washington. Nearby is Middle Intervale Farm, owned by John Carter, who produces his own vegetables and meat. He has a small, self-serve farm stand right on Intervale Road, next to Carter's.

There are a number of GREAT small bass ponds in our area just minutes away! Also, disc golf and 3 local trails- STREAKED MOUNTAIN TRAIL, PACKARD TRAIL, and the LOWELL TRAIL are within a 10 minute drive.
******RV campers will appreciate our 50 amp and 30 amp service options. Best of all, access to all amenities is included with your reservation, allowing you to fully enjoy your stay. We gladly accommodate personal campers and RVs, which can be parked near home base or tucked deeper into the woods for privacy. While we do not provide electric hookups, quiet generators and solar systems are welcome—just please be mindful of your neighbors and the peaceful setting.
We've also had guests in land-roving or vehicle-based camping setups, using the property for overnight or extended stays. You're welcome to do the same! We simply ask that you treat your setup like an RV and find a spot a bit deeper into the property, as some guests unfamiliar with this style of camping may not understand it. This helps maintain comfort and a sense of safety for all.
💧 There is a shared water spigot near home base for filling jugs or RV tanks, and for those staying longer, we offer a designated black tank septic dump station. While it may be a hassle to pack up and move your RV to dump, we ask that no waste be emptied into the wilderness. Keeping the property clean ensures the beauty of this land remains for every guest who visits.
🚽 A clean and private outhouse is available, but please note: there is no bathhouse at this time. We hope to unveil one in the next year as we continue to grow and improve the experience here at The Kutaway.
🗑️ And as always—this is a pack-in, pack-out property. Please help us keep it clean by removing all waste and using the dumpster at the front of the property near the log yard before you leave.
Our camping season runs from May 12 through October 31. We do not accept off-season bookings unless prior arrangements are made. If you are requesting a winter stay, we must ensure that you can access your site without assistance, and you accept full responsibility for any weather-related damage. This includes—but is not limited to—burst pipes, structural issues, or snow/ice damage to your camper or gear.
The Kutaway is not liable for any such damages incurred during off-season stays.
A Note on Guest Honesty & Safety
Because our property is large and partially unstaffed, we rely heavily on the honesty and integrity of our guests to maintain both safety and comfort for everyone who stays at The Kutaway. That begins with one simple—but essential—expectation: Please accurately report the number of people in your group.
While it might seem easy to overlook or hide an extra guest, a second tent, or an unexpected overnight visitor, doing so breaks the trust we place in you—and it puts others at risk. When we don’t know who is coming and going, we can’t ensure the safety of the space. Many of our guests are families, solo travelers, or people seeking a peaceful retreat—and they’re relying on that same mutual trust and transparency.
We open our land, our animals, and our home to you with the deep belief that guests will treat the space and each other with respect. When someone chooses to be dishonest about who is staying, it forces us to ask: if this line is being crossed, what other boundaries might be ignored?
This isn’t just about following rules—it’s about protecting the unique, trusting atmosphere we’ve built here at The Kutaway. You’re not just accountable to us as your hosts—you’re part of a larger guest community.
If your group size changes or you have special circumstances, just let us know—we’re flexible and happy to work with you, as long as the conversation is honest.

The Kut Away is a work in progress, set on over 140 acres of evolving woodland. While improvements are ongoing, you're welcome to explore and set up anywhere in the woods. For your convenience, we’ve created dedicated cleared spots that include a fire ring and picnic table—perfect for relaxing, cooking, or simply soaking in nature.
You can drive to Portland ( 1 h 18 min) and check out lighthouses or to Bangor (1 h 40 min). Lewiston (40 min) The gas station is about five minutes away. The nearest grocery is 15 minutes in town Jay/ Livermore Falls and the nearest Walmart is about 30 minutes in Farmington.
Guests have full access to the camper area, surrounding trails, picnic spots, and open woodland. While the main house and barn are private and not for guest entry, you're welcome to enjoy and interact with our friendly farm animals, who often roam freely throughout the property.
Your stay can be as relaxed or connected as you prefer. I’m happy to give you space or provide full interaction—whether it’s a quick welcome or ongoing help via call or text. If you need anything during your stay, just reach out—I’m here to make your visit comfortable!

Our property has 187 acres to explore and hiking trails. There is an 8-acre pond for fishing (catch and release), paddleboats, kayaks and Jon boats. There is no charge to use our paddleboats, kayaks, or Jon boats.
In Stewartstown and the surrounding area, guests have so many natural attractions to visit, including Beaver Brook Falls and Lake Francis, both within 15 miles of the Ladd Pond. The Washburn Family Forest nearby is the perfect place to go for a hike through nature and spot local wildlife.
For an action experience, guests can try the ATV trails or the exciting snowmobile trails in winter. Close to ATV trails and direct access to Snowmobile trails.

The lucky ones get a glimpse of a Moose.Maybe you prefer Biking or golfing in Carrabassett at Sugarloaf, hiking in Coos Canyon in Weld, Whitewater Rafting in the Forks Certain times of the year folks take tubes floating down the Sandy River. Our ATV trail is right out of the driveway heading up the dirt road. There is a lot to see and do in the area. . We look forward to meeting our guests, our new friends. Bring water food, ice, clothing, extra blankets if you are one that gets chilled at night and of course some bug and tick repellent. Your site will be well stocked for comfort. Our stay at Camp Whiskey Throttle was comforting. After being a first time user to the app we were weary. But after noticing the set up and how secluded it was, we were excited for the weekend. After lots of fishing and sightseeing with our family, it was nice to get back to a site that made it feel like home. It was very child friendly and the host was very easy going and very responsive. I’m glad that we found this place for a quick getaway. It truly made this weekend memorable!

We stayed at Half Moon Yurt. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The space was well-arranged, with a comfortable bed, a dining table, a small writing desk, and a futon-couch, plus two cooking/kitchen tables. Three triangular screened windows have roll-down quilted coverings to keep the warmth in. Woodstove worked well. You may want to bring your own cooking pots for home-cooked meals (one large pot, one small pot and one medium frying pan provided). The high-tech composting toilet (in a separate small building) was great--simple and easy to use. Since we don't camp on the ground anymore, this was a simple yet comfortable alternative to a tent or hotel room.

Beautiful place. We loved every second. Very clean and sooo charming. It was literally the best place. Felt very much alone and removed from everything (which was what we were going for :) ) Close to the lake, which was beautiful. My husband and I visited Morgan’s yurt with our dog to hike and toast some marshmallows in August. The yurt itself exceeded our expectations - it let us titrate the rusticity of the experience. It had creature comforts if we needed them, but we could hear the crickets, the songbirds, the rain on the yurt, and we could wake up to stunning sunrises.
The yurt is at the top of the property overlooking a lovely apparent wedding venue, then rolling green hills. The property owners let us know that children and dogs do come and go through the area overlooked by the yurt site, so if this would bother your dog (or you), this HipCamp might not be the best fit. We could also regularly hear the neighborhood dogs and ATVs, though it wasn’t oppressive. We were lucky to have the place pretty much to ourselves, and everything was so thoughtfully arranged. We so enjoyed watching the sunsets from the yurt’s campfire and from the seating area just a bit further up.

Bring what you'll need for light, a camp stove, and bedding, though the host has provided everything else you'll need.

We enjoyed our stay at Shaky Barn VERY much! The views on the way down to the campsite from the barn are breath taking. It is very private and quiet. We felt very comfortable and safe. It is also super dog friendly, we have a reactive dog and could enjoy every moment of our vacation, not worrying about running into anyone. I highly recommend sitting in the field when it is dark out and looking at the stars. The light pollution is very minimal and you can spend hours just star gazing. I would definitely come back again!

This was a really nice campsite. The host was professional, outgoing and gracious. She was very skilled with using the Hipcamp app for messaging, greeted us, explained any local swimming holes and food places, and provided fresh spring water. The site featured a seasonal stream which our kids loved to explore. The site was very clean, directions were clear, sites were well marked, and the tent/yurt was in good condition and well furnished with beds. For those who like to cook there was a dedicated and very well-equipped tent complete with propane stove. And there was also a cool solar powered light inside the yurt. There were also reasonably priced firewood bundles and snacks available though it was a warm night. And the night sky was very dark and good for sleeping and the days were much cooler than in Boston which has been over 100 degrees F lately. We explored the local gorge and some hiking trails and had delicious meals at local diners.
