Gondola Village at Holy Cross has direct access that many only dream of to Colorado's water wilderness, and some of the best backcountry skiing, hiking, scrambling, backpacking, and fly fishing in the Vail / Eagle County / Leadville / Aspen area.
Our modern alpine cabins (Alpine Gondola Lodge and Lost Gondola Lodge) are some of the cutest cabins you've seen, complete with a mix of amenities (think Coleman stove, Miir mugs, Rumpl blankets, Goal Zero Yeti, Metolius couch, a guitar, Dometic cooler, Sea to Summit shower, and more) to make your wilderness stay a bit more comfortable. Don’t forget your camera, and a good book (or read one from our large library while you’re up here).
Gondola Village at Holy Cross is at almost 12,000 feet above sea level (believed to be one of the highest altitude Hipcamps in the world). Gondola Village at Holy Cross has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Reclaimed, Airbnb's OMG! Fund, Arch Digest, numerous other publications and brand product shoots. The managers of this property have worked in modular construction (cabins, yurts, and homes) and hospitality for many years and have brought together some of the best Scandinavian and modern mountain design with a mining town aesthetic. With such challenging access (larger items can only come in via helicopter), each piece of furniture and amenity is carefully chosen.
The trip up can be challenging (only off-road, winch / locker equipped vehicles dare try the 759 Holy Cross City jeep road, others will need to hike in at least 2.5 miles), but the views and cabins are well worth the trek. For successful navigation without reliable cell service, a map app like onX is recommended. Snow free season tends to be June 15 an October 30 annually, and outside of this guests should be prepared for up to 11 miles of over-snow travel with no cars allowed (a bit less depending on snow coverage in the shoulder seasons from May 21 - early June and late October - November 21).

Guests can enjoy a sheltered camp area which includes a fire pit, pergola, and picnic table, along with a play area for children, wooded areas to explore, and several vantage points to take in the stunning views. From the top of the hill, you can see three different mountain ranges.
Guests can enjoy birdwatching, hiking, nearby Eleven Mile Reservoir, and, of course, disc golf. Stargazing here is incredible, and the peaceful surroundings make it easy to unwind. Wildlife sightings may include badgers, bluebirds, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, elk, bears, hawks, and even owls at night.
If you’re looking for a magical place to relax and connect with nature, family, and friends, this is the perfect spot. Dogs are welcome and often some of the happiest visitors here! Please be mindful of wildlife and the potential for interactions with other campers’ dogs. Be sure to clean up after your four-legged companions and pack out all waste. Please bring your own bedding! The entrance is right off of highway 135, 8 miles north of Gunnison. Come down the driveway and take a right into the field. The tent is nestled against the cottonwoods far enough away from the main house for complete privacy.
Relax on the property or use it as your adventure base camp. Less than a mile from Gunnison river access, National Forest access in hunting units 54 and 55. Not far from units 66 and 67. Almont is a 2 minute drive, Gunnison is about 10 minutes away and Crested Butte is about 20 minutes from the property.
The queen size bed will be made (additional cots can be added with advance notice) and the kitchen has a two burner propane camp stove, tea pot, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and utensils. It is stocked with drinking water, oil, S&P, coffee, tea, marshmallows and fresh eggs from our chickens will be provided daily.
The tent is equipped with a wood burning stove and stocked with firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased. Kindling and fire starters are also available at no charge- let us do the hard work - you RELAX! Electricity is provided, so you can charge your phone or whatever else you need.
Enjoy your private fire pit, chill in the rocking camping chairs, or walk across the field to the main house and enjoy the hot tub on the deck. You may spot our horse "Sassy" or some of our chickens roaming around.
A porta potty is situated near (but not too near) the tent for your convenience. Towels and wash cloths are also provided.

This private alpine meadow sits at approximately 11,000 feet, at the base of two 14,000-foot peaks, on 160 secluded acres bordering National Forest. The camp rests in a hidden sunken meadow surrounded by ancient forest, alpine streams, and some of the oldest living bristlecone pines in the world — trees so remarkable they have appeared in Ansel Adams photography.
At night, you may hear great horned owls in the trees, coyotes calling at sunset, and sometimes moose moving quietly through the meadow. During the day, the air smells of pine, summer grass, and cold mountain water. Sit beside the stream with your feet on warm granite while the wind moves through 3,000-year-old trees overhead. It is peaceful, wild, and difficult to describe until you are here.
The site is built for guests who want to disconnect from crowds and reconnect with nature without giving up comfort. Tucked into the meadow is a cozy insulated A-frame shelter with large windows, a skylight, soft solar lighting for nighttime ambiance, a locking door, and a full-size bed. It is simple, warm, secure, and comfortable — a perfect basecamp after exploring the high country.
From the property, you have access to miles of 4x4 roads, ATV trails, hiking routes, wildlife viewing, photography, stargazing, and quiet time by the stream. Spend the day hiking alpine ridges, exploring the forest, reading on the deck, or doing nothing at all.
Amenities include a wood deck, waterproof awning, picnic table, BBQ grill, bear box, oversized stone fire pit, and simple backcountry-style toilet setup.
Altitude note: this camp is around 11,000 feet, so guests should be prepared for high-elevation conditions, cooler nights, stronger sun, and changing mountain weather.

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.
The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it.
Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite.
We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

This is an awesome place within the mountain peaks at almost 14000 ft. Tim is super cool and has done a ton of work all by himself. He’s not done yet but this place is super cool. Put a lot of thought into it. Seems pretty into Nichè. Seems pretty Type A. Make sure you vacuum and pick up after yourself because all those tools are at your expense. He makes sure you have everything you need and is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Had a great time here and would definitely come back. Be good people :)

Loved the spacious canvas tent and beautiful area. Though there was another tent a couple hundred feet away, this one faced away from any other tents and felt nice and secluded. River access was perfect for the kids, and the gas fire during the fire ban was a nice touch.

This was such a cool location with trees, plains, and great views. The disc golf course is awesome (we didn't make it all the way because we had our 2-yo with us and it's pretty long).
Pros: Awesome disc golf course. Thunder Paws Cabin was great because it kept the bugs out and the bunk bed was comfortable. Our kiddo loved the slide, swing, and teeter totter. Host was great at communicating. It was nice to be able to use the grill and fire pit.
Cons: Lots of ants and flies were out during the day (but that's to be expected because you're outside).
Note: This would be a sick spot to rent all of the lodging options and have the whole campsite. All of the campsites are right next to each other. Also, be sure to come prepared because you are kinda far from the closest store. It's very secluded.

Such a great retreat! Myself, my husband and our two children loved the cabin, it was perfect for us! It was nice to be “off grid” but still have some basic amenities like a portable toilet and well stocked kitchen. The view is amazing and you can see every star at night either inside laying on the bed or on the porch. William was a great host and was quick with responding to messages. My husband and son walked a couple trails around and loved it. My husband is already talking about him and my son coming back someday to do more hiking. Beautiful cabin and property!

The canvas tent site in the Aspen Grove was perfect! Site was clean and loved that it was on a platform. Bathrooms and showers were spotless as well. Great views and amazing hosts. We will definitely be staying here again!

We just returned from our weekend enjoying the Whispering Pines Glamping spot, and had a wonderful stay! Marsha and Mike have created a little Oasis in the woods and we highly recommend it to anyone considering booking this spot. So much thoughtfulness went in to creating it and it includes every amenity you could possibly need from a comfy and cozy bed, all the pots, pans and utensils you might need, camp chairs, water, dry flush toilet, fire pit and so much more! Marsha even left us some coffee to brew in the morning. It was such a peaceful place away from everything. We definitely hope to return soon!

My daughters and I had a great time visiting Belinda and Todd's land. The canvas tent was spacious and with table and chairs. The propane gas pit was nice as open fires are rarely doable anymore. The property was beautiful and relaxing, my kids loved watching the Highland cows. Belinda and Todd were very nice hosts! Would definitely book again.

1 night at Mountain Goat Lodge Glamping
Love sleeping the the tipi and waking up to the sounds of the animals starting their day. Check in/out is super easy (we came in late from a concert and it was no problem to find the farm or the tipi). The bed was comfy (we brought all our bedding) and the bathroom was clean with hot water. It's our second stay and we hope to stay again.

We had an amazing quick getaway from the city. The property is absolutely gorgeous and Belinda and Todd are fabulous! If you want a camping experience with some extra luxuries like a hard wall tent, flush toilets, and showers, this is it! Facilities were immaculate. We will definitely be back!

We loved staying at Alpine Valley Ranch! We were there for the mountain games and this spot is a little piece of heaven. Only 30 minutes to Vail. The cabin is precious and after driving across the country. it felt great to sleep in a bed and take a hot shower.. And my daugher and some of her friends were able to camp there. Tons of trails right behind the property. Very cool spot! Thanks Gerry!

Marsha and Michael have created an absolutely beautiful camping spot on their land with all the amenities that you could want! Myself, my partner, and my dog just spent the weekend there and had the best time. We usually dispersed camp, so we decided to "treat" ourselves and glamp. I may never go back to normal camping again and just keep glamping here! The yurt was so cute and cozy, the bed was extraordinarily comfortable, and all the other amenities were so helpful. There's a picnic table, a little camp kitchen with all the necessities, big jugs of water, an outhouse with the coolest dry toilet setup I've ever seen, a fire barrel, cornhole, games, a heater... it has everything you could ever want and need. Additionally, Marsh and Michael were so kind, helpful, and accommodating. I highly, highly recommend and will definitely be back!
