She has no hook ups but there are battery lights and a clean double bed. Set a while on the dirt porch in the shell back chairs and reflect on life. Shangri-La is family, pet, UFO, and kid friendly. Bring 'em all! You will need to self clean this little slice of heaven. There are supplies in the closet and the outbuildings. You'll BYO sheets and towels to make up the beds and bathe, remember to take everything you brought with you, put back the key, and haul out your own trash. The space A 1950s two bedroom, 1 bathroom western style cabin plus a separate vintage 1 bed 1 bath 32' Silver Streak Trailer with modern, comfortable touches and amenities sitting on 5 acres for you to enjoy and bliss out. Please note, the Trailer is only included with guests counts of 5-8 people for an additional fee of $100 per night Inc cleaning fee, it is not included for guest counts of 1-4 people unless requested as an add on. Located in a quiet area on the mesa in Joshua Tree but only a 15 minute drive to the National Park, Pioneertown, downtown Joshua Tree or Yucca Valley. There is also a small local market, 3 minutes drive away from the cabin. Cabin features polished concrete floors throughout. Mini split heating and air conditioning in main living area. A well stocked kitchen, with an array of cooking utensils, pots and pans, all you should need for your culinary creations. Open living room, kitchen and dining area. Guests love our very comfortable beds, one king size in the main bedroom, one queen size in the second bedroom, with an optional pull out single cot. Wrap around porch with multiple viewing areas for sunrise and sunset. Enclosed private back yard featuring an inflatable hot tub, cowboy tub on a redwood deck. Propane (provided) grill, Fire pit, chair hammocks, large hammock, seating. Smart TVs in the living room and main bedroom include; Netflix, Hulu with Hulu Live, Disney and ESPN Plus with a Sound bar in living room that also has bluetooth input to play music from your device. A record player with selection of albums or bring your own vinyl. An acoustic guitar for you to jam along with ! Main bedroom has a small built in office area for remote laptop work. Additional picnic tables in the enclosed private back yard and outside to the side of the property. Tether ball and a horse shoe pit The trailer includes; a double bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchenette, living room with double pull out couch. Space heaters, Air Conditioning, Bedding, blankets, towels and pillows. Amenities in the trailer include a small fridge, microwave, hot plates, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, cups, plates, bowls, cutlery and glasses, wardrobes and chest of drawers to put clothing and store your belongings, a smart tv with Netflix, Hulu live, Disney Plus & WiFi. Please note, the Trailer is offered separately as an extra request only at a rate of $100 per night for guest counts of 5 and above. Guest access Satellite Wi-Fi throughout the house and trailer. This is an original 1950s cabin with refinished original hardwood floors yet with lots of modern upgrades for a comfortable and cozy getaway. For our summer guests: We have two A/C units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. I have stayed here in 114 degree heat and it has still been cool and comfortable inside. We just added a water misting system for the front porch and hot tub in the backyard. New for 2023: ice maker for kitchen. For our winter guests: We have infrared & radiant heaters in every room, which keeps the whole cabin very warm and toasty yet without drying the air. Both our minisplit units can also add extra heat if desired. Our hot tub is designed to stay hot all the time so we always have it set for 100 degrees so it's ready to go when you arrive. Our backyard also has a wood firepit & charcoal BBQ We are available through the app or phone any time during your stay and also have local contacts available as well for any on-site emergencies. We're located in Landers, just about 15 minutes north of downtown Joshua Tree, 7 minutes to the Integratron, 10 minutes to La Copine Restaurant, 30 min to JT Park West entrance. 4 adults max per reservation--we allow up to 5 for families with small children. Guest count must be accurate on reservation to see the correct pricing. Easy keyless entry with Nest lock. Exterior gates can be opened with a keypad or you can borrow a remote to keep with your during your stay (MUST be returned when you leave). KITCHEN: High-quality Cuisinart stainless steel and All-Clad nonstick cookware and bakeware, Cangshan knives, cooking utensils, Keurig with pods, drip coffee maker with filters, coffee bean grinder, milk frother, compact rice maker and slow cooker, waffle maker, Ninja blender, microwave, etc., compact Bosch dishwasher, mint green Smeg 2-door refrigerator/freezer, countertop ice maker, gold Smeg toaster & hot water kettle, breakfast/coffee bar with solid walnut counter, black marble sill for your drinks and desert views. BEDROOM: features a very plush Aireloom Palazzo queen bed with premium West Elm/Restoration Hardware linens. Qi wireless phone chargers on nightstands. Corner windows provide natural light, but have blackout shades for late mornings (please note they're not 100% blackout as some light will come in around the edges). LIVING ROOM: West Elm trundle sofa. You can remove the back cushions easily for a comfortable twin bed on the couch, plus you can pull out the bottom of the sofa for an extra twin trundle bed below. Please use provided mattress protector over sofa if setting it up as a bed. We also provide a child's cot and pack n play crib upon request. Dining table with 4 chairs. 50" Roku smart TV, record player with records to enjoy, board games, Echo Alexa speaker, black & white laser Wifi printer. INFO ABOUT PETS: Dogs must be pre-approved before booking (please provide age, size, breed, etc.) to make sure they're a good fit for our place. There is a $50 pet fee per dog per reservation ($50 fee applies weekly for bookings of 7 days or longer). Please note no dogs on furniture and dogs cannot be left alone in the house at any time. There is doggie daycare for $18/day at Blue Barn Ranch or $30/day at Joshua Tree Pet Resort. We have refinished hardwood floors and ask you ensure your dogs have trimmed nails before they arrive that will not scratch them. Our property is fully fenced, HOWEVER dogs should be supervised outside at all times as small dogs might be able to fit through our fencing, or there could be places where other animals have dug underneath or created holes in the fence--we cannot guarantee your pet will not be able to get out of the fenced area, you are responsible to watch them at all times. There are coyotes and other wild animals in the area so dogs should never be let out alone after dark. Washer/dryer (free) access only for stays 5 or more nights. OUTDOOR AMENITIES: We have a sitting area in back with firepit and charcoal grill with BBQ tools. Please note we do not provide firewood or charcoal--they can be purchased at any local grocery store. If we have some there you are welcome to use it, but we don’t guarantee we will supply it or replenish if it runs out during your stay. If you are coming for a long stay and would like a lot of firewood, our neighbor can give you a quote to deliver. The backyard motion sensor light can be turned on or off inside the house--keeping it off is better for clear nights when you want to see the stars. The front porch has two chairs, misters, as well as some twinkle lights. HOT TUB: No glass around or in hot tub, we have plastic cups provided. Please place hot tub cover on wood surround or rocks below, not on the ground/dirt. Please rinse off in the shower and wipe dirt/sand off your feet before entering hot tub. All 4 buckles on the cover must be secured when not in use—it gets very windy here and the cover could easily blow away. Hot tub can be used any time, but please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. ***Please note our hot tub gets serviced weekly on Fridays*** TV/INTERNET: We have a Roku TV with basic live channels as well as typical smart apps. Our wifi is 25 down/5 up and we typically actually get those speeds on our tri-band mesh network with coverage both inside and outside the house. I have been able to watch streaming TV plus use my laptop to work at the same time without any issues. However please note when it gets especially windy, the internet can go in and out. We have added a laser printer which you can use if connect to WiFi, prints black & white only. We will do our best to supply printer paper but cannot guarantee we will have it. Please be aware we are in the actual desert! We have lots of nature around us and you will see some bugs and critters during your stay. We recommend keeping doors closed at all times whenever possible to prevent bugs from getting in. During the summer there are lots of flies--if you leave doors open they will get inside. We have eco-friendly bug spray provided. There are animals and sharp desert plants on the property which could be dangerous to pets, children, or even adults. Guests exploring the property or letting their children/pets wander around the property do so at their own risk. If you drive off of the gravel areas of the driveway, you could get stuck in the sand, especially if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. We recommend to only drive and park on the areas with the gray rocks. As we are in an area where water is an especially precious resource, please be mindful of running the dishwasher or washing machine only when it's full, and if possible at night when the energy costs are lower. No electric car charging--if you charge your car or use any energy heavy equipment you will be charged an additional $50/day, or for actual cost of the extra usage above our average daily use, whichever is higher. This is a high fire hazard area, use of the firepit or smoking outside must be done with extreme care. Any fires in the firepit and cigarette butts must be fully extinguished and cannot be left unattended. Sometimes during high winds the county prohibits fires. It can get quite windy is this area, so we do not recommend leaving anything outside that could blow away or get knocked over. For this reason no inside furniture or linens can go outside at any time. Outdoor blankets must be taken with you when you go back inside. When it's especially windy power and/or internet can go in and out. Some carriers get service at our house, but the most reliable method is to turn your phone into airplane mode and connect to the wifi. In the Summer: A/C should be turned off or left at 78 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Doors and windows should always be closed when A/C or heating is on. In the Winter: Heating should be turned off or left at 65 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Doors and windows should always be closed when A/C or heating is on. We provide a remote for the gates--it must be returned at the end of the stay or there will be $100 fee charged.

The place is absolutely great. The peace and quiet you get from this place is one of a kind. My fiance and I loved the seclusion we got this weekend and could’ve stayed longer. Just remember to bring everything you need so that you don’t have to drive back into town until you have to leave! Would highly recommend if you like the quiet and want to see the night sky lit up with all the stars!

My dog and I had the best time at Mikael’s spot in the desert. My dog is fear reactive and noise sensitive. I booked this little cabin for the weekend of 4th of July and it was perfect. It was fully stocked with everything I needed and it was nice having the fenced yard for my dog. Mikael was kind enough to give me a TON of recommendations for her needs and even let me know if any last minute fireworks that may be popping off. The views at night were incredible. Highly recommend reading a book in the hammock. Overall a great experience and a great host. It’s a trip that I’ll remember forever.

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain

Really loved staying at Ken’s Black Cedar Cabin. We just wanted a quiet place to escape the fireworks on 4th of July weekend but got a much more serene and relaxing weekend than we were anticipating! It’s just up the hill enough to give sweeping views of the valley, with a lovely view of Mt San Jacinto in the distance. You can tell Ken built this cabin with love, it had a lot of nice details that make the stay cozy, like the bathroom light for late night runs, the perfect elevation of the cabin for a beautiful view, and the maintenance of brush for privacy and shade. Really hope to come back!

2 nights at Bohio Retreat Glampsite

This site is amazing. Exactly as described. Perfect for a solo work retreat or for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The host has taken great care to provide some essentials you may not be able to travel with… emergency kit, foldable outdoor chairs, yoga mats, games, books, and so much more. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again for a longer stay!

Beautiful spot, feels very private because of the fence and neighbors are not very close by. Easy to find and had everything we needed! We didn't see the host but he was very communicative and gave easy directions for getting in. Every thing was so clean. Just know there are no curtains on the windows so when the sun comes up, you get up. No one can see in the house though as there is a fence all around.

Just as lovely as pictured, pup-friendly, and very peaceful. Decor is true to period, almost like a time capsule. Showed photos to my extended family and we can’t wait to book both of Jami’s cabins for a family getaway! Excellent trout fishing nearby at jenks lake and opportunities in the river by the cabin. Truly a gem!

We enjoyed our stay at the Stargazer. There were plenty of stars to see. The place was very private and the view across the valley was beautiful. Outdoor jacuzzi was very nice. The air conditioner kept the room cool. Overall, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and we would recommend this place.

Great little spot in the desert! We stayed there in October with a friend and had to do our little Babymoon there this weekend. We came well prepared this time with plenty of water, food to cook on the mini inverter cooktop, and plenty of snacks as this place is nice and remote. It has all the comforts you need, (comfy bed with fluffy pillows, nice large bathroom, kitchenette w full size fridge, AC/heating, a star-watching deck) just BYO water and food! Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back again!

A clean home, warm shower, and cozy bed in the middle of the Mojave is a perfect place for me! As stated, there is only one queen bed so remember your extra bedding for additional campers. Everything was as stated in the listing. It does require driving a bumpy dirt road for a few miles but I’m guessing if you’re already a Hipcamper, your car will fare just fine. Given the road condition, it was about 35 minutes to the West entrance of J. Tree. Had a blast and would gladly stay again should we find ourselves needing a Mojave fix.

Such a nice retreat in the desert! Quiet and comfy with amazing views for sunrise, sunset and stargazing. Definitely recommend an SUV or truck for the tricky roads as other reviews mentioned. Overall we had an incredible time and loved the cozy bed and nice AC after long hot hikes in the park.

We found the Relaxing Hideaway Caza Retreat to be a lovely stay! Mercedes was super accommodating on our arrival. The place had lovely views, including the stars at night.
