Description

Camping with a...diverse group? No sweat, we've got you covered. Plan your next group getaway at Hearthstone Point Campground, and you'll keep whiners at bay. Lake George welcomes boats of all shapes and sizes, and fishermen can catch their choice of dinner: lake trout, landlocked salmon, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike, and a variety of pan fish call the lake home. Land-dwellers can spend their days on the many hiking trails and sandy beach, and if there's someone just camping for the IG shots--outlet malls, theme parks, theatres and restaurants are just a short drive away.

Spent 3 nights over Memorial Day Weekend 2015. Had site down the hill just off the Lake. Site was okay, but the facilities were not well maintained. On the last day I was rushed before checkout and got to the showers without my sandals. Didn't want to walk back down the hill to get them and ended up with my first case of athlete's foot. Bathroom had clogged drains and standing water. Best part of trip was hiking up Prospect Mountain, which is just west of the heart of downtown Lake George. If hiking wear good footwear, bring bug spray, and carry water. Trekking poles, as in any hike involving elevation, make the descent much easier and quicker.
