A-frame is 'off-grid' (no real heat, electricity or running water, wifi) and unplugged, it is simply just a structure; pls enjoy plugging into nature. Please note there are screens in the cabin and pack bedding accordingly.

- outdoor woodstove & two burner Coleman camp propane stove, cast iron skillets (2) are provided
- during summer months you must BYO water; no external spigot on property. we are happy to refill gallon jugs for drinking & lend a 1-5 gallon dispenser of water for drinking/washing for extended bookings, upon impromptu meet & greets
Contents: Site features a deck with 2 chairs and small tables. Cabin contains a two burner propane stove, cast iron pans, binoculars, grate for cooking over campfire, large table top/saw horses stored inside for meal prep/dining
Bed/bedding: A-frame cabin has a double/full semi-firm bed on a frame with a waterproof (thus easily sanitizable) cover. Due to COVID guests must BYO bedding & pillows. Linens pillows and towels are available for a $40 fee.
Lighting: A-frame has solar lights on exterior patio, electronic tealights for interior of cabin & a USB powered light, bring a charged battery pack for it. You may have a campfire on the beach or in a safe designated pit onsite in case of wind. Please BYO headlamp/flashlight and a sense of adventure. Do take care with blowing out candles and do not leave any open flame unattended inside cabin.
Winter: Trusty rusty teeny tiny outdoor woodstove on deck for cooking, gives ambient heat for warming appendages. Indoor buddy propane heater will take the chill off if run for any duration of time but pack accordingly with winter graded bags, cabin is uninsulated. For propane heater: we provide guests first 1 lb canister per booking during winter months, each 1 lb cylinder will last 3-6 hours, or opt to bring or rent a 15-20 lb tank from us. Location: Property has no immediate neighbors around but is surrounded by tranquil nature preserve with trails through woodlands that is open to public; a magical forest & walkable beach. Feels at most times like a private beach but site is not private. A-frame is away from the crowds of the park and just far enough off Route 1 that the noise of engines is barely audible. Lobster boats however will hum about the bay extracting their bounty from the sea.
Privacy: Semi Private site. Bathroom is shared porto potty due to zoning restrictions and proximity to ocean. During the day you will likely encounter the seldom friendly hiker on the beach and trails on the neighboring preserve. More prevalent than hikers are deer, bald eagle, sea birds, wild turkey, friendly chipmunks, chattery red and black squirrel and the occasional porcupine. In the water are small whales, seal, loons, porpoise (dolphins basically), duck, heron, and schools of fish schoaling.
Cabin: is RUSTIC, from 70's, has large screens and is also not hermetically sealed. In summer cabin is hot/cold proportionally to outdoor temps. You are camping. There are bugs. Pack accordingly. Maine has mosquitos, no-seeums, black flies, ticks, horseflies and fireants. I can't control this. Pack good bug dope and smoke em out! If you are looking for a more luxurious glamping experience with electricity and showers, look up Terramor in Bar Harbor. Closest campgrounds if we are booked: Acadia East, Acadia Seashore, Mainayr.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
What an amazing location! Starting with the gorgeous sunset when we arrived on our first night, it was clear that this was a special place. Honestly wish we could have spent more time here, but it was great for a relaxing few days.
The ultimate quiet acadia getaway
The perfect place for a relaxing getaway! This oceanside aframe will provide you with exactly what you are looking for. You cannot beat the views and chilling on the beach by a warm fire! The cabin has a spectacular sunset view and if you are lucky you will see some seals. I was bummed to arrive to the beautiful front window boarded up though.
Enjoyed our stay. Location, location, location! Amazing! Enjoyed hikes and walking on beach at low tide. Lobster dinner was excellent. Had a lot of rain, but did not squash the beauty and solitude.
Nature lovers paradise
Amazing honeymoon get away. We needed a break from people drama and just life’s BS. This was perfect for us. So nice to enjoy the ocean without a crowd of people. There were only about 5 people that passed by on the beach while we were there for 2 days. Everyone in the area that we came across was very kind. Our host, Lilly was also amazing, and made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be visiting again soon, highly recommend to anyone who loves unique camping spots with a view. I enjoyed painting on the deck and reading my book in the hammock chair right off shore. My husband practically had to drag me away when it came time for us to go. 😜 We also saw a lot of wildlife which was such a treat, an adolescent bald eagle hung out with us on one of the fir trees next to the cabin for about an hour. We also saw a few shy seals. The hiking trails right off the shore were also very fun and beautiful.
We really loved everything about staying here. The setting, the cabin, the trees all were so lovely and unique. Lily was so accommodating and communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. I only wish we could've stayed longer. If you get the chance to stay here I can't recommend it enough. The cabin is so cozy and the view is so beautiful I'm so happy to have gotten to spend my birthday here as it's really something special.
My new favorite place!
It was like heaven. If you are the fence book it now, book it for as long as you have to get away because you won't want to leave. The cabin itself is cozy and well appointed , especially for a camping cabin. It's dry on a rainy day and even has some books and games should you need inside entertainment one day. Check in with the host about what she can supply because it helped us with packing the car for a long camping trip because she has a lot of equipment and necessities available as a standard feature or a small fee. The land this home occupies on is stunning, just so vibrantly alive and magical. You are right on the ocean at Frenchman's Bay and can hear nothing but sea birds squawking, the wind filtering through the trees, Minke whales surfacing in the bay to breathe, and the gentle lapping of water as the tides slowly come in and out. Make sure you rent her Kayaks, the bay is otherworldly from a boat and its calm and easy to kayak on. Lily and Daniel are beyond hospitable and kind. They are very familiar with the area and happy to give you recommendations, all of which are top notch! It was worth every penny and every minute of my time and I cannot wit to return again next summer! Also, don't miss the Schoodic Point part of Acadia National park that is literally just down the street. It's all stunning rugged coastline and very private and uncrowded for a National Park since its far flung from the majority of Acadia (which is also amazing and easily accessible for day trips out to MDI). What are you waiting for. Stop reading my review and book whatever days are available!
The A-frame lived up to the hype! An amazing location and quirky retreat that cannot be beat. Lily is a fantastic and thoughtful host providing us with snacks, drinks, fresh flowers, and veg from her garden. Book a stay, you will not regret it!
