This property was once a tobacco farm and still boast a 100 year old drying barn. The property is a traveler's dream with accessible roads and even camping spots. We are just 25 minutes to West Asheville breweries and restaurants and a close drive to many trails and waterfalls . I love the back country vibe of this sacred mountain while still enjoying all the comforts of being close to town. Learn more about this land: Dip your toes in the creek and walk amongst the wildflowers on our 40 pristine acres in the heart of the Appalachians.  About the property Just 25 minutes to the amazing city of Asheville, North Carolina and less than 20 minutes to Marshall, where you can find groceries, laundry, and more. We are also only 45 minutes from the famous Max Patch, 60 minutes from DuPont Forest, 75 minutes from Cherokee, 90 minutes from Lake James, and under 2 hours from Linville Gorge. Roads are well maintained and suitable for most vehicles. Nature and nurture abound in this secluded, family-friendly retreat. The creek runs along the property, so you’ll be able to hear it as you wake up and again as you fall asleep at night. There is also a trail that runs through the whole property that you can use to explore without ever leaving the land.  Enjoy hiking, biking, and wildlife watching, or just relax and meditate to the sounds and smells of the local wildlife.   Your Hosts live partially on site and will greet you upon arrival, but we are then happy to grant you as much privacy as you like unless you contact us for assistance during your stay.  Note that we have AirBnB listings on this property, so you may see other visitors in common areas or in passing on the property, but you can still expect plenty of seclusion during your visit.  About the listing Take advantage of the outhouse which features a “sawdust flush” toilet.  We also offer a rustic shower experience, which consists of a watering can on a pulley in the outhouse. One to two cans of pre-heated water offer a complete 15-minute shower. Biodegradable soap is provided.  For cooking, we provide an outdoor sink and cooking area with a propane burner, grill and grate, basic camping pots, dishes, and a wash area. We can also provide a cooler if need be. PLEASE be mindful that we have bears on the property so wash dishes well and pack up all food materials and scraps away from your tent area when done.

Really loved our stay. Very peaceful and nice to be out in nature. Very nice stream right there by the camp.

Camped in a 9 ft pop-up camper at Creekside Tent Site (x4) with friends, Apr 2022.

    It was okay

The location is quite scenic with a beautiful creek running along the site, and a great trail that runs to the top of a couple ridges and ties into NC hunting land. Downside is the site appears to be in transition into something else. When I arrived I learned the Shower area was being used as storage and unavailable during my trip, Sawdust toilet was replaced with a porta-john, platform tarp was torn loose and hanging to one side flopping in the wind, cans and bottles were piled up on the corner of the tiny house, trash (beer boxes and other paper products) were in the pipe hoop for firewood, and firewood wasn't as readily available as one might think from the listing. I'm grateful I always pack a saw and axe, as I had to break down 5-6ft logs that were piled up to the left of the firewood storage hoop shown in the pictures. Not that the owner has anything to do with this part, but the neighbor's dog inviting itself over to the site for playtime and insisting on jumping on tents and cars is never welcome especially when trying to sleep, prepare food, and pack. Enjoyed my time as best I could, but probably won't be back.
