I tent camped at Kathy's land for 5 days with my two dogs. The site was well maintained, very large, and absolutely beautiful! My dogs loved swimming in the river and running around the property. It was completely private and I had my dogs off leash the whole time. Kathy was very helpful and friendly, and she even recommended going hiking at Pier's Gorge that was about 30 minutes away. It was a very peaceful week away from the city ❤️

From the moment we booked, Kathy was an outstanding host — incredibly responsive, clear with directions, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed. She even pointed us toward the Piers Gorge Scenic Hiking Trail, which was absolutely worth it (highly recommend!).
The site itself blew us away. It's spacious with plenty of room to spread out, and everything was thoughtfully set up. The firewood was right there and ready to go — such a convenient touch. The porta potty was honestly the nicest I've ever seen, complete with a little night light for those late-night trips. And the twinkle lights? They gave the whole space the most magical, cozy ambiance.
We spent hours relaxing in the hammocks, gathered around the fire, and listening to the frogs at night — pure bliss. The peaceful river nearby has us dreaming about coming back to kayak and explore even more of the property.
This place is a hidden gem, and Kathy is the kind of host who makes it truly special. We are already planning our next trip back. Thank you, Kathy, for sharing your beautiful property and giving us a sister trip we will treasure forever. 🌿🔥✨

Kathy was amazing! We decided to take a chance and tent camp in late October. The site is very peaceful and she built firewood up for our first fire upon arrival. We left many things behind on the days we traveled to fish or hike with no worries. The river and woods are peaceful. Appreciate the water she leaves to clean hands and cookware! Look forward to returning and camping next year. Thank you Kathy and Randy!

Don’t let the entrance fool you - this site is on par with having a county park all to yourself. Solid and maintained amenities. Maybe cutest porta john in existence.

We really enjoyed this site. It was private, secluded and well maintained. Kathy and her husband were very kind and attentive, and they did everything they could to make our stay pleasurable, including driving over to unplug some of the fairy lights so we could have darkness near our tent. The only negative feeling I have regarding this site is the traffic noise, it is VERY loud and noticeable, it got a little better at night, but still obvious. I feel like it's just something to be aware of. We would come here again though, no doubt.

My dogs and I had a fantastic stay car camping at this site. I spent most of my time paddleboarding in the river and I would highly recommend this site to folks who enjoy paddle sports. The water was clear with a muddy bottom. Feeding the fish was definitely a highlight! There was plenty of shade and grassy areas for me to exercise my dogs. I had no issues with bugs; not even mosquitoes. I didn't have to wear any bug repellant. There was no grill grate or tripod for cooking so keep that in mind. The site is a bit noisy, you can hear the nearby highway traffic, lawn mowing and train. I came on a Saturday and there were gunshots going off until dark (maybe a shooting range nearby?) But those are things the host can't change. I brought a white noise machine along and that helped a lot. Overall I had a fantastic time at this site and can't wait to come back.

Camping at Riverside was a wonderful get away for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The spot is private and wonderfully manicured. It was great to have a Porta Potty onsite, and the shower bags were a good sent for rinsing off and cleaning up dishes. Kathy and Randy were friendly, and responsive. Our pup Kitty LOVES the river! Having access to firewood on site was another plus! We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

This was our 2nd time staying here and we highly recommend it. It is a great place, well maintained, private and perfect place to bring dogs that aren't use to being around tons of people or on leash. Its a safe place to post up and go explore Norway, Iron Mountain and much more. Kathy and Randy are amazing hosts and we enjoyed visiting with them again this year.

This was such a wonderful site. There was a lot of time put in to it. I was pleasantly surprised that there were not a lot of bugs. My favorite thing was the hammocks they have by the water. You also can feed the trout in the river! I plan on coming back next year!

We had such a wonderful stay at Kathy and Randy’s riverside camp spot! You can tell they truly care about their land and about creating a welcoming experience for their guests. The property is beautifully maintained, and the thoughtful amenities made the night so comfortable—from the clean port-a-potty to the stocked firewood, solar string lights that came on at dusk, and even a shower/changing tent with warm sun-soaked water bags ready to use.
The river was calm and peaceful, and it was the perfect setting for our dog’s very first night camping (she loved being able to roam off leash!). We fell asleep to the sounds of the river and woke up to birdsong, with hummingbirds visiting the flowers and trout swimming in the clear water nearby.
This place has so much to offer if you’re looking for a quiet, well-cared-for spot to connect with nature. We’re so grateful for our stay and for such kind and passionate hosts!

Great little beautiful get away. Since kathy and Randy decided to change it to only one site. Lots and lots of room. Awesome ambiance with the lights that they had hung up. Both Kathy and Randy were very nice and very welcoming people! Would definitely recommend. Will come back. Awesome place!

There is nothing like waking up to an absolutely gorgeous view of a peaceful river. Kathy and Randy have put a tremendous amount of love and hard work into this campsite, and it shows! Massive level gravel site that has tons of room to maneuver (we have an F150 and an 14’ camper) and still maintains patches of shade trees. Without a doubt, the cleanest, freshest smelling, cutest port-a-potty in the ENTIRE world. They had two solar shower bags filled and ready for us to use and a shower/changing tent all set up. There were so many other thoughtful amenities including solid wooden picnic tables and benches along the river (no wobbly plastic junk here) and sunken fire pits. We felt safe and secure. Our travel pup, Molly, had a grand time sniffing around and watching the fish jumping in the water. She gives River View: Five Paws. 🐾 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Our only problem was that we didn’t have more time to spend here. Book this site - you won’t be sorry!!

Really loved staying at Kathy’s site! The setting was quiet and peaceful and made for the perfect escape on a busy holiday weekend. We loved being able to drop the kayak in the water. There are a couple good spots for tent camping and the site was great for my pup. The porta-John was clean super and—dare I say—cute! Come with bug spray and keep an eye out for ticks (which is true anywhere) but, like other reviewers noted, the gravel helps with the mosquitos. Kathy was so kind and considerate, checking on us due to possible storms in the area. Hoping to come back again soon!

I loved van camping excellent lighting made it easy to setup when I visited even during a late arrival. Sites clearly marked, nice fire pits, river so close you could toss a rock and hit the other side.

Great spot! Site #1 and #2 are connected via a gravel drive and visible to each other. We lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves — great spot! Kathy and Randy were very welcoming and communication was easy. The gravel space kept bugs minimal and our dogs loved the river access. We brought tubes and floated all afternoon. We’ll be back!

A great oasis in the UP. Wonderfully private, with a great tent spot. Rent the Kayaks because cruising up and down the little river was a highlight. Keep your eyes peeled for the beavers! Very convenient location to many fun adventures in the area. Definitely on my favorites list to stay again.

My 3 friends and I, plus the two dogs had such a fun weekend staying at this camp! We had the place to ourselves and so the dogs enjoyed getting to explore the area while still being in sight. The river was very calm, refreshing and about waist deep during our stay. It was perfect for cooling off during the hot afternoons. Kathy also installed solar powered lights all around the trees in camp and WOW it made camp so pretty at night. We barely needed to use flashlights, but we had no problems seeing the stars either! During our stay we stopped at the nearby Island Resort (10min away) to try our luck at the Casino. To my boyfriend’s surprise, Sweetgrass a breathtaking Championship golf course and Sage Run were both under 10 minutes away from camp!
Kathy and Randy were very responsive, kind and did a great job making this camp feel like you’re in your own secluded, scenic backyard away from home. Already planning my next visit to this campsite!!

A private little(not so little) chunk of land in the UP. The site is large and clean. The water was a little low during our stay but we were able to do a little kayaking both directions. My wife appreciated the clean porto-potty. There were only two of us, but this would be the perfect site for a few campers and a bunch of friends and family. Kathy was awesome. She was very attentive and can be plenty of help if needed. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

This property is in the perfect location to serve as a home base while you explore the UP. It is well maintained, nicely tucked away and private. Also, it has a good balance of mature and younger trees that lets great breezes through camp. That coupled with the river definitely makes this a charming option. It is perfect for families looking for a location where their dogs can run and play unencumbered. At night the stars are endless and the hammock makes for a perfect spot to look up with a beverage in hand and enjoy. Kathy and Randy were responsive, informative and welcoming, checking in frequently before and during our stay. When we came back to camp at night it truly felt like coming home.
