Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
A two-acre parcel of land with 700 feet of water frontage on the Piscataquis River. It is on the ITS trail. Bring your RV and your toys and take off right from the site. The sound of the river is amazing, and you have no neighbors for complete privacy. The Appalachian trail is just a few miles away. The beautiful village of Monson is just down the road for great food and essentials at the Monson General Store or Schmied’s Country Store in Abbot.A 25x100 gravel driveway and a few relatively flat spots to pitch tents and enjoy the sounds of the river. Site is located off a side by side trail so there will be some 4x4s driving by on occasion. The site has an outhouse you may use but please don’t dispose of anything in it other than human refuse and toilet paper. Access to water is at your own risk, the stairs are very much DIY made and the last section through the weed can be a bit steep and treacherous.
