Looking for a quiet peaceful camp on 212 acres in the Appalachians Mountains along side the Upper Cumberland River under a canopy of shade trees? We offer WIFI, hot showers, restrooms, kayaks, shuttle service, hiking trail, horse trail, wildlife stands, electric, water, easy access to the river, 130’ x 100’ covered pavilion, tent camping, cabins, RV sites, and much more. Whether you are looking for a unique swimming hole location, a place to go fishing, kayak access, hiking trails or just a quiet place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, we promise you will not be disappointed. You may wish to lay in a hammock along the river or under our covered 100 x 130 pavilion. We also have a beautiful creek to explore, very secluded and off the beaten path with lots of wildlife to enjoy. In addition to our relaxing atmosphere, this camp will also give you and your loved ones an incredible view to enjoy throughout your stay. Only 15.0mi via KY-90W by vehicle or 14mi by kayak to Cumberland Falls State Park with many hiking trails. One of the oldest original homesteads in the area, for nearly 150 years this gem has been in the family. We have shared it with many people over the years and would love to share it with you! These beloved woods are the remaining part of the once vast, Patrick homestead-started soon after the Revolutionary War. Our family ties and our roots grow very deeply along this river and these woods-we've been born and raised here and continue to strive to be good stewards of these lands. Pristine woods, trails, river access, and more! Located in the heart of the Appalachian and on the bank of the Upper Cumberland River. Creekside Primitive Camp

This off grid secluded Creekside campsite is only minutes from Cumberland Falls, ideal for a quick getaway. One (1) sleeping tent per campsite and up to (5) five per one tent. If you wish to add additional sleeping tent you must book a separate campsite. A number of hiking trails begin within walking distance of the campsite. Come unplug and unwind alongside this stream. Lounge in your hammock and read a good book, watch the abundant wildlife or build a fire and cook out under the stars. Fall asleep to the sound of the babbling creek, just perfect for relaxing and getting some quality sleep away from other campers. In the morning have your coffee in the forest. Hike the trails and explore the surrounding countryside. We can assure you will not have anyone camping right next to you and it’s extremely safe. This site is one that stays booked. You have a pit toilet just a few yards away down one of our many hiking trails. You have no lights out requirements. We have 212 acres for you to explore with another 62 acres adjoining the DBNF with a waterfalls just 2 miles down the road. If you enjoy camping off grid on a creek you will love this campsite. The creek offers a small pool to relax in after hiking our 3 mile trail. It’s our policy not to brother you at your camp, but if you need anything at all come to the Kentucky Barn or checkin location. We are here to make your visit exciting not to interfere with all the rules and regulations of most campgrounds. Come as a camper and leave as a friend!

63 private acres providing exclusive access to adjoining Daniel Boone National Forest land (46,000 acres in Whitley County alone). This property is uniquely located, providing privacy and peaceful enjoyment of thousands of acres of national forest Cane Creek Water Falls. You pick your private campsite within 63 acres for outdoor recreation. The opportunities are truly endless with miles and miles of less travel available trails returning to camp with a “tall tale” tell, and nature enthusiasts still stunned to have witnessed the American Bald Eagle while hiking. Resting on a county road, this scenic property is shielded from nearby development by the national forest and National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. This property is accommodating to many forms of camping, including those who wish to explore the national forest by horseback. There is even a trail for 9.5 miles from your campsite to Cumberland Falls trail number 2 that very few have ever traveled. This property includes flat land and cliff lines. Cane Creek crosses the property, produces a 45’ waterfall and a medium-size swimming hole and empties into the Cumberland river. This southeastern Kentucky property enjoys quick access to I-75. It is located halfway between Lexington, Kentucky and Knoxville, Tennessee. It is also located approximately halfway on I-75 between Michigan and Florida. The property is isolated from other developed property. It is not encumbered by restrictions associated with commercial camping areas or federal regulations. From your unique campsite location, there are hundreds of miles of private explorable hiking and horseback trails. Beaten down by deer, elk, bear and other wildlife trails wide and narrow lead to watering holes and cliff overhangs that once provided shelter to Native Americans. An old logging trail connecting to your campsite leads to boulders that protrude into the river, providing a unique place to sun, fish and picnic. “Backcountry” camping is permitted within the National Forest, with some restrictions. Our Off Grid Campsite does not have all these restrictions. Nearby rock walls and steep inclines tempt adventurous hikers and welcome both amateur and skilled rock climbers. On land or water, you’ll be greeted by a host of colorful birds, witness the American Bald Eagle and other predator birds and maybe if lucky spot a black bear. In addition to the recreation opportunities directly associated with your primitive campsite, quickly accessible attractors/attractions include: Cumberland Falls State Park - Laurel River Lake - Bark Camp Creek (trout stocked) - Williamsburg Golf Course - Kentucky Splash Water Park and Family Entertainment Center- Big South Fork National Park- University- just to name a few.

Let us do all the work for you! We will put a tent up for you and take it down after you checkout. You will not need to buy a tent or store a tent until the next camping trip and if it were to rain you will not need to take a tent down if wet. Just think you may love camping on the river under shade trees and listening to our owls at night. We will turn the front of your tent toward the river so you can see the river flow. This tent sleeps 2 happy campers and includes a large door for easy entry, and exit. With a hooded fly to provide ventilation even in rain, and a large rear hooded window also provides air flow for cross ventilation. This site on the river is close to hot showers and restrooms. You can park a 2WD next to this campsite. You’re also close to an easy access point to the river for swimming or fishing. You will also have a picnic table and a fire pit with one bundle of wood. From this campsite you have access to a private 3 mile hiking trail along the river and up in our mountains. Cumberland Falls State Park is only 15 miles, Williamsburg 8 miles, and Corbin 18 miles. They are a few trails that is near this campsite: Moonshiners Arch, Yahoo Falls Trail, Eagle Falls, Dog Slaughter Falls, Bark Camp Creek Cascades, Pinnacle Knob Fire Tower, just to name a few. Kayaking trips range from 2.5 hours to 5 days on the river and in between and for those who climb rock faced mountains we have so many without a fee or permit. This is not an 8 person tent, but cozy for 1 or 2 camping.

This Off Grid Shack is made completely out of recycled metal tin and reclaimed wood. It features a spectacular river view that can be seen while relaxing. This Shack also has two bunk beds for sleeping. The Shack is the off grid ideal getaway in the forest. If you are looking for a place to unwind with friends or family this is it. Patrick's Point River Camp has got you covered! What is better than waking up surrounded by beautiful mountains overlooking the Cumberland River. If you’re expecting side by side camping such as a KOA then this campsite is not for you. Guests will enjoy more than 3 acres to themselves and a 3 mile hiking trail. This campsite has no light pollution for the night sky. Why not spend some time in gorgeous Southeastern Kentucky? Our campground is considered as one of the safest in Kentucky. You will have no lights out requirements at this site. The only sounds you can hear are those of birds and wildlife.

One tent or one hammock tent and camp under the shade of a tree canopy on the Cumberland River. We have hot showers and restrooms with flash toilets close to your tent site. You will have no problem driving to most campsites on a gravel driveway or in wet weather you will be able to park on gravel close to the campsites. I also have very private sites along the river that do not have a gravel driveway, but weather permitting you can drive to these sites. You have access to four hot showers, restrooms, wifi, water, electric is available under the Kentucky Barn. You have a cleaning station for pots and pans. You’re welcome to be under the large Kentucky Barn and rest in one of our hammocks. You can wade into the river to our swimming hole weather permitting and relax in the water flowing over your body or fish. You can kayak the Cumberland River or Jellico Creek right from our river camp no need for a shuttle. A number of hiking trails begin within walking distance of your campsite. We also provide pick your own campsite away from others on the river. One (1) sleeping tent per campsite and up to (3) per one tent. You may add an additional (2) guests per same tent at $5.00 per additional guests. If you wish to add additional sleeping tents to your campsite they must book as a separate campsite. I also will prepare your breakfast see my extras. A camping trip is a great way to escape the busyness of everyday life, unplug, and reconnect with nature. Picking your own guarantees that you won’t have others to distract you, and you will feel a much deeper connection to nature, and thus experience your camping with heightened senses. With no distractions, you’ll find the sunrises are even more stunning, and the wildlife that you come across will seem even more majestic. When you’re alone there is something incredibly freeing about that. When you’re camping on your own private site, you will have no stress. Leave behind thoughts of life back home (such as your job, bills, etc.), and allow yourself to do what you came here to do — relax. This camping site has no light pollution. You will be camping under the darkest, starriest skies. Gazing up at the Milky Way can be one of the breathtaking experiences when camping. Even without a flashy eclipse or a meteor shower, the night sky has been guiding and inspiring humans for time immemorial. You will be able to pick your campsite along the Cumberland River. One (1) sleeping tent per campsite and up to (4) four per one tent. If you wish to add an additional sleeping tent or hammock tent you must book a separate campsite. Patrick's Point Campground consists of 212 acres of beautiful mountain and Cumberland River front property. A number of hiking trails begin within walking distance of the campsite. This Primitive campsite is a secluded under trees on the river with a private gate. This campground is only a few miles by car to Cumberland Falls State Park, Big Southfork National Park, and thousands of acres of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Patrick's Point is within the Daniel Boone National Forest, London Ranger District quarter. Patrick's Point is a fantastic location yet very protected and private for a base camp to access the many activities in this area. The Primitive campground is ideal for car or tent camping right on a World Class fishing river. The Primitive campsite has a pit toilet and water is available at the Kentucky Barn. The property has many different sites for tent camping. You can drive to your primitive camp site on a dirt road weather permitting. Private shaded walking trails along the river and mountain slopes with an abundance of mountain laurel, ferns, native holly's, large hardwoods, pines, and wildlife. The property and your camping experience includes easy access to the Cumberland River and has a canoe/kayak launch. You and your family will enjoy swimming/wading/fishing or just relaxing in cool rushing water. Remember to bring your running shoes and bicycle. You're a short drive to Cumberland Falls State Park along with many hiking trails in the National Forest. You can experience world class mountain bike trails, rock climbing, hiking, kayak, river tube, canoe, swimming or just relax in a hammock. Patrick's Point is only 14 miles upstream by river from Cumberland Falls State Park. You will be camping in the Appalachian Mountains on the river. Less than 20 minutes away are art galleries, many restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, University of the Cumberland's and Williamsburg Water Park. We have a large parking area for horse trailers with miles of trails to enjoy in the National Forest. Pick and pitch your tent in the back of our 212-acre farm and stay completely secluded from people. You will drive almost a quarter mile down a dirt road past where the public road ends. Stay as connected or as disconnected as you want. Our river camp offers the perfect escape from the day-to-day race of life. If you want to get away come spend a few days with us!!! We ensure your privacy. Upon arrival you may pick your camp site. Patrick's Point River Camp is right on the Cumberland River with kayak and tube rental, 3 miles walking trails. We have a shuttle service for longer kayak/tube trips. We have ice and firewood. Just down the road is the Gentle Acres Family Farm with fresh vegetables, breads and jams. These are a few places of interest and things to do. Cumberland Falls State Park, Williamsburg Kentucky Splash Waterpark, Big South Fork Scenic Railway, Eagle Falls Trail, Daniel Boone National Forest, Dog Slaughter Falls Trail #414, Daniel Boone National Forest, Bark Camp Trail #413, Cumberland Falls Horse Riding Stables, Harland Sanders Cafe and Museum, Corbin Arena, Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, University of the Cumberland's and so much more. Sorry I can’t predict the weather! I can’t turn your two wheel drive into a 4x4. I can’t rise or lower the river level. I can make you feel welcome, but other than that please read all aboucampsite.

This campsite has no light pollution. You will camp under the darkest starriest skies. Gazing up at the Milky Way can be one of the most breathtaking experiences. The Summer to Fall bring new perspectives with the changing colors of nature or gathering around a fire on a cool evening. You can also use the Mountain Camp as home base for the many destinations within an hour of our location, Cumberland Falls, Big South Fork, Big South Fork Scenic Railway, Daniel Boone National Forest, Cane Creek Waterfall, and many more returning home each day to friends, a campfire, and sharing your experiences. We have many trails along the mountain for your private hike. One of our hiking trails we recommend is to the Cane Creek Waterfall located in the DBNF only 2.25 miles from camp. You can also hike or drive to the Cumberland River on our 212 ac property. The Mountain Primitive Camp is private with a gate and gravel/dirt road right to your campsite under the trees. The campsite is in the forest without the public access. If you’re looking for a place to relax without anyone else around this is the spot. Self-reliance and the solitude of being in a remote area of our forest attracts dispersed campers year round. The Mountain Camp is a haven to many species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and other wildlife including: black bear, deer, bobcat, chipmunk, squirrel, elk, fox, opossums, skunk, raccoon, rabbit, wild turkey, woodchuck, songbirds hawk, owl, eagles ... Yes you may bring your dog! You will be able to pick your campsite. One (1) sleeping tent per campsite and up to (4) four per one tent. If you wish to add additional sleeping tents they must book a separate campsite. Understand to access these camp sites is required a 4x4. We have many other camp sites that don’t require a 4x4.

Generally speaking, for those that don’t understand Boondocking. This is a way of camping that does not have any services and is not part our official campground. Boondocking refers to camping with a recreational vehicle (RV), van, car, or tent in a remote location without electricity, water, or sewer. Boondocking is parking or camping overnight. Our Boondocking Campsites offer incredible views, serene surroundings, and the time to reconnect with nature. If you prefer developed campgrounds and their amenities: side by side, full hookups, pool, spa, laundry and play area we are not your place. For those looking to camp in a remote area, away from the crowd, Boondocking here in our mountain, field or river side is a welcomed alternative. Each spot is behind a locked gate. Patrick's Point River Camp Boondocking spots are low cost and nothing like a Wal-Mart parking lot. Patrick's Point is only 8mile from I-75, but still in the wilderness. You will feel safe at your Boondocking spot. Come camp with us in nature. Wake up hearing the wild birds not the sound of traffic and have a campfire at night before you hit the sack. Patrick's Point is a relaxing stress free zone. We have many spots in which to camp. Again I wish to express you will feel safe, but without anyone camping beside you. Now, our Boondocking spots riverside can only be accessed by 4 x 4. We do offer other campsites for Boondocking that you can access without a 4x4. Our Boondocking campsites or just that without restrooms and showers. Boondocking campsites are just that Boondocking campsites. We will pick the campsite location after you arrive. Please understand you will be restricted to your Boondocking campsite and without access to other campsites or the Kentucky Barn. As mentioned your Boondocking campsite is without restrooms or showers and we must be strict on this rule due to other’s camping. We also see that you have a private Boondocking campsite to relax and enjoy nature. Our Boondocking campsites are only a few miles from Williamsburg, KY., I-75 Exit 11, 2343 River Road, located on 212 acres of quiet forest land on the river. You have been driving hard and need a place to just relax and away from traffic this is your place. Your safety and peace is also our concern.

River Shack Shelter

The Shelter has a wood bunk bed and a hanging hammock. You will need to bring your own bedding. No electric in the River Shelter. You will be close to restrooms and hot showers. You will have WIFI service, picnic table, firepit, hammock’s inside and out looking over the river. You do have electric close to charge your devices. The River Shack Shelter is nestled in the London Kentucky Ranger Sector of the Daniel Boone National Forest and 100 feet above the river. Just below the River Shack is a path and you can wade into the water. A number of hiking trails begin within walking distance of the campsite. This Shelter features panoramic views of the scenic Upper Cumberland River and shaded by mature hardwood trees right on the river bank. The "Best" fishing on the Upper Cumberland with access to bass, catfish, rock bass, small mouth bass and walleye. If you love to fish, bring your gear, because this section of the Upper Cumberland is known for its brag-worthy fish. This section of the Upper Cumberland River also runs through the Daniel Boone National Forest, so there’s prime opportunities for multi-day kayak trips on the river. We also provide shuttle service for day trips, 5-2 day trips up river and over night trips to the Falls. Just a 15-minute drive to the historic Cumberland Falls State Park that is on the National Register of Historic Places with many hiking trails. Patrick's Point has over 3 miles of private hiking trails along the river and into our mountain forest. If you love cycling and have fallen in love with the sport and have been craving an open country road to have all to yourself then "River Road" is just for you. Patrick's Point offers mountain bike trails also. Williamsburg the home of the University of the Cumberland's and Kentucky Splash Water Park is only a 10-minute drive. Corbin home of the Kentucky Fried Chicken is only a 20-minute drive. Just down the road 2 miles is a trailhead entering into the Daniel Boone National Forest along the Cumberland River with the Cane Creek Waterfall. Whether you are looking for waterfalls, hiking trails, natural arches, a historic mining camp, scenic railroad trip or a visit to where Kentucky Fried Chicken was born, you can find it all in this beautiful area of Kentucky.

This cabin is on the Cumberland River with easy access into the water. You must bring your own sleeping gear. The Cottage has the following: (2) single beds with mattresses, two double bunk bed with air mattresses, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, table with chairs, air/heat, ceiling fan, picnic table, outside grill, firepit, front porch with rocking chairs, hot shower in the mountains by the river. You will enjoy getting out into nature and find a temporary respite from the world. You may wish to just lay in a hammock or wade in the river. Cleaning: Your safety is our priority. We have always been obsessed with the cleanliness of our homes, and in light of the recent events, we have increased our already stringent cleaning procedures and policies. We don’t normally use harsh cleaning products, but we are adding bleach and other disinfecting products into the mix out of an abundance of caution. No charge for children five and under.

This cabin is on the Cumberland River with easy access to the water. The Cozy Cabin is located on 214 scenic acres right on the Upper Cumberland River and the Daniel Boone National Forest London Ranger sector. Our Cozy Cabin is a great option for those who want to camp on the river and in the forest. You can sit on the front porch or the river bank and enjoy "The Sound of Owls", owls are especially known for their hooting sound, which involves two short, deep “hoo” sounds followed by a long. Our Cozy Cabin sleeps a total of four people with two bunk beds. You must bring your own sleeping gear. The cabin has WiFi, AC, heat, overhead fan, refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave inside and a table with chairs. Each cabin has a picnic area that includes picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill. We rent canoes, kayaks, river tubes are you may bring your own. We have a swimming hole and you can wade fish. We have miles of private hiking trails along the river, creeks, and up into the forest mountain area. We are only 15 miles drive to Cumberland Falls State Park, 8 miles to the water park or WalMart. You will definitely want to see the mist of Cumberland Falls which can create the magic of the moonbow, only visible on a clear night during a full moon. We are only five minutes from the Cane Creek Falls and trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Located right on the Cumberland River Bank with approximately 212 picturesque private acres to explore. This river cottage provides exclusive access to the Upper Cumberland River and only 13 miles up seam from Cumberland's Falls State Park by kayak or canoe. This cottage is uniquely located, providing privacy and peaceful enjoyment of acres of forest and the Cumberland River. Weekend getaways or longer stays on this property provide opportunities for hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and fishing. The opportunities are truly as endless as the available trails traveled in search of deer, black bear and elk, fisherman returning to camp with a Kentucky Spotted Bass or "tall tale", and nature enthusiasts still stunned to have witnessed the American Bald Eagle while canoeing or kayaking the Cumberland. Nearby rock walls and steep inclines tempt adventurous hikers and welcome both amateur and skilled rock climbers. On land or water, you'll be greeted by a host of colorful birds, see sun soaking reptiles, spook wild turkey and other game birds, witness the American Bald Eagle and other predator birds and spot black bears. Access to this cabin is by a dirt/grass road. If the weather is rain or snow the access will be muddy. We can take you to the Hideaway by 4x4 if need be at no extra cost just as a service. A sturdy Sawmill Rough Sawn Bunk Bed, picnic table, trash bag and fire ring is available on site. You may harvest the "dead trees" for firewood. We are located on The Peaceful Side of the Upper Cumberland River, the side that is known for relaxation, hiking, horseback riding, fishing and photography. We also have a golf course in our little town! Our goal is for our campers to have a great experience while experiencing our National Forest, Cumberland Falls State Park and so much more! The Hideaway is off the beaten path, out of the way, not central, private, not public and away from the touristy area. When you arrive, we have already used a disinfectant on all high touch surfaces in this cabin, including bunk-bed, doorknob, picnic table, etc.. must bring your own sleeping gear. “People are so cooped up inside, getting the mental break outside is so important." Shinrin-yoku is the name given to the Japanese art of “forest bathing,” contemplative walks through the woods that reconnect the individual with nature and can lead to decreased stress, natural mood elevation and even a stronger immune system. This means of mobile meditation has been recognized by the Japanese government since 1982 and has been endorsed by the Forest Agency of Japan as a means of improving quality of life. The practice can be a natural way to combat the toll of stress and anxiety

Very peaceful in the tree canopy! Well shaded spot stayed comfortable on a hot day with surprisingly few bugs. Well maintained bathrooms. The kids loved listening for owls, catching fireflies, gathering the chicken eggs, and rock hopping at the waterfall down the road. We unfortunately didn’t get to enjoy the river as it was very high with significant debris, but it sounds like that is far from the norm.

Patrick and Angelica were kind and caring hosts. The campsites were shaded, well spaced out and nicely maintained. Bath/shower was very clean. Patrick pointed us to a nearby small but very cool waterfall. And he invited our two granddaughters to gather chicken eggs with him. A very family centric operation. Very much enjoyed it.

Patrick and Angelica are amazing hosts. They were very responsive with any questions or issues that needed to be addressed. They treated me and my sons like family. My youngest is into rocks so Patrick showed him his collection and my boy took great interest. It's a remote, peaceful place that is well maintained with great care and one that I will definitely return to.

The scenery is breathtaking, and it was exactly the escape we needed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We were looking forward to enjoying the river activities when we booked this cabin, but were met with muddy and wet weather during our stay. I asked the host if we could modify our date of stay, but the cancellation policy for this site is very strict. We arrived at 6pm after a slow and windy 5 hour drive in the rain. We stayed inside the Driftwood Cabin the entire time, which was very bare bones, but it did the job of keeping us dry. We were interested in asking Patrick about the gem mining experience that starts at 10am, but we needed to prepare to check out at 11am. As my sister was packing up our vehicle, I began walking toward the barn pavillion to talk with Patrick. During this 30 second walk toward the pavillion, my 13 year old neurodivergent son was thrilled to see a bird enter a birdhouse that is attached to the cabin, and he approached the birdhouse quickly. Immediately, Patrick began yelling at us to get him to back away, and spoke to us in a condescending manner about needing to respect nature. I did actually tell my son to not touch, and Patrick continued to lecture and belittle us "city folk". While I was apologetic, I was completely caught off guard. We book Hipcamp because we do enjoy and respect nature. Needless to say, we did not inquire to gem mine, and instead chose to check out at 10am. This host/cabin was not friendly our family with special needs. They should post strict rules of their expectations of guests interactions with nature on the property.

We can't wait to come back. 💕 We had a quiet little escape for a few nights and it was so peaceful, full of life, and a beautiful property with lots of hiking/sites to see very nearby. Our hosts were so welcoming and sweet, they truly have something special going on here. For this primitive site, of course take your daily comforts if you wish and bug spray. It was the best layout for our tent and canopy and I even had the perfect landing overlooking the creek for my yoga and meditation. There is a pit toilet you can use a few 100 yards away but it wasn't a big deal for us, very easy walk. And we had the nicest little creekside to use for bathing with our camp shower. If you truly enjoy getting lost in nature, this is a great place to do it and reconnect with yourself and each other. 💚

Riverside RV campsite

This was our first time using hipcamp and it went so well that we can’t wait for our next trip. Patrick met us as we arrived and showed us to our spot for the night. It was so peaceful and gorgeous. The bath house, with private showers, was clean and it had nice, hot water. We loved all the sounds and sights of nature as we relaxed. We would highly recommend this location to any of our friends and family and hope to revisit again one day!

This place is my new favorite campground! Both Patrick and Angelica are very hospitable and even let us set up camp closer to the river than the site we'd originally booked! The campground is well maintained, but still gives the 'untouched natural beauty' vibe we were looking for. The night skies are just GORGEOUS and I truly cannot say enough nice things about our hosts. We opted for a costa rican breakfast the morning of our departure and I've got a new favorite snack(cinnamon sugar fried plantains!) This campground is close to national parks and plenty of outdoor activities- we're going to have to come back and explore more, because 4 days was not nearly long enough!

This was our second visit to River Tree and the same as the first visit it was amazing. I cannot say enough about the hosts. they are amazing and the friendliest people I have ever met camping. Constantly checking to make sure you need anything and always giving advice on things to do. The camp sites are just perfect. I would not change a thing about them. Beautifully laid out, well cleared and clean waking to views of the river. The bathrooms are extremely clean and a hot shower at the end of a humid day was a relief. It rained a good portion of the time we were there but with the wild life, we did see two bald eagles fly by our camp, it was still perfect. To end it all an amazing Costa Rican breakfast from Angelica was a dream. This place is perfect. Do not miss it.

This has to be one of the absolute best places to go camping! The hosts are wonderful people. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful time when you stay with them. Not only are the facilities exceptionally clean and nice, it's a very safe and welcoming environment. I can't think of a single negative comment to make about this place other than that I wish it was closer to where I live so I could go more often! In a world where it seems people care more about making money than being nice and doing what's right, it is so refreshing to run into such admirable people. I came away from my trip not just feeling more relaxed and refreshed, but also feeling more optimistic about people in general. Thank you both for such a wonderful experience! I will definitely be going back to camp at Patrick's Point River Camp. One regret I have is that due to some significant allergies, I can't enjoy the Costa Rican breakfast that Angelica makes. I would say if you're able that is a must try! Once again, thank you for such a wonderful experience!

We stayed during some intense rains, and to be honest it only made the experience that much better! The cabin is tucked off in the woods about 25ft from the fire pit and picnic table. It was quiet and peaceful. I look forward to staying again!

I stayed at the secluded riverside cabin and it was awesome! Patrick was so friendly and accommodating. This Hipcamp had so much to offer…bathrooms,showers,kayaks and so many styles of “roughing it”. Angelica and Patrick have a wonderful thing going here. They are so friendly! There are cabins, platforms, parking, and tent sites located on a stretch of wooded land right beside the River, and a big barn/pavilion space very close by with clean bathrooms, a stage for performing (too bad the singer who they thought might come do a couple of sets couldn't make it), some really interesting farm equipment on display, church pews for weddings, and a mini-museum of Patrick's rocks and geodes from his days as a geologist. At twilight Patrick puts on the Owl Call recording (as long as his favorite resident squirrel isn't nearby) and brings a couple of huge owls to camp. They sit in the tops of trees and talk to each other for a while. There are also some chickens on the property, a frog pond, and scores of bird feeders that draw a beautiful variety. Dogs are allowed to accompany campers if kept on leashes (for the chickens' sakes) and my dog had just as good a time as I did. It was too cold to get in the water so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks or tubes available to rent, but we did all have the Costa Rican breakfast on Sunday morning, cooked to order by Angelica, and so delicious. They were so accommodating. It was a wonderful weekend!

Muskrat Hut

We will definitely be nearly stay here again. This place is beyond cool and has been owned by the same family for generations. I especially appreciate the wonderful home cooked meals and the ambiance of the creek and wild life. This family is also extremely knowledgeable about geology and high-quality coffee. If you are in the area and you pass this place up. You need to ask yourself, “what am I doing with my life”. This is a once in a lifetime kinda place.

Patrick's Point is a great campsite. Options are available for tent camping, cabins, and really cool treehouse sheds. Great birdwatching, kayaking and just enjoying a peaceful place. Very clean and well-maintained. The hosts are so friendly and live on-site if you ever need anything or want to hear a good story. Order the Costa Rican breakfast--you'll be glad you did.

Patrick and Angelica were warm, wonderful hosts. My fiancé and I stayed in our 24' camper van conversion, and there was plenty of space for the size of our rig + more. The camp is well kept, clean, and absolutely beautiful and right next to the river. Lots of opportunity for forest walks, sitting next to the river, and wildlife spotting. Our time there was deeply relaxing, I highly recommend staying!

Creekside Primitive Camp

The host Patrick was more than we could even ask for. Extremely friendly and accommodating. He's not hosting to nickel and dime you. He's hosting to give you a wonderful stay. Anything you need, just ask him. That being said, the primitive campsite was wonderful. It is a good bit deep in the woods, very private, and feels like you're out in the forest away from everything, but not about 100 feet from the road. Be prepared to do a tiny bit of off roading. Would not recommend for very low vehicles. A normal sedan will do just fine if you don't mind if you rough through some grass, dirt, and a couple tiny branches. Also parking is about 50-100 feet from the site, so keep that in mind when packing your things Thank you Patrick for making us feel so welcome and being extremely friendly. Will definitely come back if we're in the area.
