This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Tucked away on our family farm in the backroads of Waimanalo, this private wall tent is situated where we once housed horses, looking out onto the orchards, freshwater stream, and mountains. The area is entirely your own, with a private bathroom and covered lanai. The tent is tastefully styled with a very comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, full electricity and wifi. A single cot can be set up for additional guests. The lanai has a picnic table overlooking the fields and Olamana mountain peaks. There is a single burner campstove with hot water kettle so that you can brew morning coffee and tea, and a mini fridge for cold goods and perishables. The private bathroom is just behind the tent and has a sink, hot shower, and flush toilet.

Tucked away on our family farm, this tent is situated under the covers of our old barn looking down into a banana patch and freshwater stream. This tent and area was recently renovated, with a larger tent, very comfortable queen sized bed, and a chair that folds out into a single futon. Alongside the tent is a private seating area with picnic table, propane cooktop, cooler, sink, and basic cookware and utensils. The barn bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet is just a stones throw away. Wifi signal is strong and the tent has electricity. This tent and lounge area is shielded by a cedar privacy fence, but the bathroom is shared with two farmhands. Orchard Wall Tent
Loved it loved it LOVED IT!! Saw wild life from tent, stayed dry and comfortable in our Delux tent during 4 days of MONSOON weather conditions. Host was fantastic and gave us tips to maximize our Island Glamping Joy. Thank you David and HipCamp for a delightful & memorable experience. We will be back for sure!😎

The location is just stunning with beautiful, tranquil energy. Lex & Dave provide you with so much detailed info and are also there to help if needed. We came back here on the same trip because we loved it so much. Can also highly recommend the glamping tents too.

Our campsite was absolutely beautiful! We appreciated staying there for our two nights. We met the groundskeeper, who was incredibly friendly and gave us a few recommendations. We would love to return in the future and recommend it to other campers!

Orchard Wall Tent
Heaven on Earth is the only way to describe the views and serenity of Lex & Dave’s farmland. Born and raised on Oʻahu, I know the island’s most special places, and Waimānalo has always held my heart. Now, 57 years later and after traveling the world, I can honestly say it remains one of the most sacred and beautiful places I’ve ever experienced. “Glamping” is an understatement; luxuriously comfy beds and pillows, electricity, lighting, a refrigerator, fan, and a private bath and shower. The bathroom instantly transported me back to my travels through Bali, Mexico, and Costa Rica. You truly cannot dream of a better location. Waimānalo Beach is unmatched: pristine snorkeling, long beach walks, epic hikes, peaceful evening walks in the back country. The freshest fish and grilled meats. There's even a top rated vegan restaurant! A true local’s secret paradise. Staying on this land was an absolute honor, and the experience will stay with me forever. 💚I will definitely book here again far in advance on my next visit home. BTW: I stayed here by myself as an older, single woman and felt completely safe at all times. I had to work remote so I had my laptop & other devices. Everything was secure on the property. *note* if mosquitos love you as they do me, my mosquito pants saved me. It's only at sunset time outside. Mosquitos never got into the tent. Lastly, it felt really good to have the money go towards a working farm. Its a true way to support local. 🌺

We loved this campsite! The view from the landscape was stunning. We went with a Campervan and the directions to the place and where to park were super clear. Is very silent and you can hear a lot of birds singing, it was beautiful. Is not just a place to spend the night, is a place to enjoy. The bathroom looks like is really taken care off and the shower has hot water. We would go back for sure and we recommend it!

Quintessential East Side Glamping
Orchard Wall Tent
A quintessential glamping experience - spacious tent, comfortable foam mattress bed with sweeping views of the mountains. Fully stocked kitchen with a nice private bathroom toilet and hot shower. Loved having our own picnic table/ eating area with overlooking farm. Loved waking up to sounds of nature. I appreciate the check-in packet as it was very informative and clear; Dave and Lex were also very communicative to ensure we have everything we need. Citronella candle on picnic table and charger in the tent were nice added touches. A minor request to add electronic mosquito repellent in tent (fan was very helpful too), eating area and private bathroom to keep mosquitoes at bay and enhance guest experience. Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat whenever I visit the East side.

What a cool location! Lex and Dave were so easy to work with, and all the accommodations were great. You get a great view of the mountains, and you are close to a lot of cool stuff to do in city areas. It’s cool having animals roam around. It was a very refreshing time for our family, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to stay!

This is just a lovely location and the price is so refreshing on Oahu. You will be surrounded by the sounds of birds, the smell of nature and the beauty of the mountains rising close behind the property. By the way Google maps worked fine to get to the property, the provided maps just clarified where on the property the tents were. We fit 5 adults into 2 tents.

Orchard Wall Tent
The place to be on O’ahu! We had such a wonderful and magical stay here. The whole landscape on Lex and Dave’s farm is breathtaking. It actually brought tears to my eyes the first time I took it all in. The accommodation is comfortable. It is so nice to have a comfy bed, electricity, fan, and hot shower while still being immersed in nature. Definitely a lot of critters and the mosquitos loved me but some bug spray and the provided citronella candle helped a lot! We loved all the roosters and wildlife around, plus meeting the farm dog Shadow! We also enjoyed seeing all the lush trees, and banana flowers around the property. The guide provided by Lex and Dave is so thorough and everything we tried on the list was a great recommendation- especially the exotic fruit from Frankie’s nursery, fresh poke from Shimas, and all the beautiful white sand, turquoise water beaches. My family stayed in Waikiki so we got to take a peak at what was going on over there and we were so grateful to be where we were on the other side of the island- closer to nature, local culture, and where things moved a little slower- just our speed. We celebrated our engagement on this trip and couldn’t have picked a better place to relax and enjoy O’ahu. We were definitely sad to say Aloha goodbye. Mahalo Lex and Dave for providing a container for self reflection, connection with one another, and with nature.

Orchard Wall Tent
This spot feels wonderfully secluded while still being conveniently close to nearby destinations. I stayed in the Orchard tent and it was truly a magical experience. I spent a full week there, including three rainy days, and instead of feeling inconvenient, it felt incredibly cozy, calm, and grounding—far more enjoyable than staying in a hotel. The tent has all the essentials: a comfortable space, the ability to cook your own meals, warm showers, and a proper bathroom. I absolutely loved my time there.

Beautiful scenery. Level campsite. Great communication and travel info. Loved the cute hot shower and bathroom and the flower outside smelled divine!! The phone charging station was nice too. It is so great to see the Hawaii countryside and beauty!
